Is there a term for aplatonic due to lived experiences?
Not necessarily trauma, just lived experiences. For me I've tried to make friends but then they either seem uninterested, I find them uninteresting, or I'm scared to reciprocate for some reason.
I feel like I won't be prepared for the job market when I graduate. What can I do?
In a year I'll finally graduate with my BFA. My issue is whether or not I'll find a job. I feel like I'm behind compared to my peers. I get decent grades and started getting on the honor roll the moment I took courses that were actually interesting to me. I'm told that I shouldn't compare myself to others, but how am I supposed to know if I'm doing well as a designer if there's nobody to compare myself to?
I've tried to find design jobs on campus and the ones I've applied to won't start interviewing until the semester starts, and even then I don't know if I'll get accepted. I managed to get an interview for a design job on campus a year ago, but I was asked questions I didn't expect to be asked, and I knew I wouldn't get the job.
It just doesn't seem fair because about half my peers have design jobs and I have to make do as a delivery driver and campground gate attendant. I've done a mock interview and one of the things they told me I need to work on was giving longer answers. I have a resume that I designed myself and I think it looks great.
I'm afraid that the 6 years I've worked to get my degree will go to waste if I can't find a job. It doesn't help that I have poor social skills and that I'm supposed to be doing networking, and I don't even know where to begin with that. What can I do?
Why do people put "Leave at my door" just to go out and grab it anyway?
I assume most people who order Doordash know that we have to take photos for "Leave at my door" orders. Just delivered to a girl who had this kind of order and she still opened the door anyway. She saw me taking the photo and I thought I heard her say "Oh, I don't wanna be in the photo! 😂" but. She didn't even back off or anything. She still grabbed her order and I had to take the photo anyway. Like nope, you want me to leave it at your door, and because you went outside anyway while I took the photo, you're gonna be in it anyway.
Has anyone else noticed that the colors for customization match each type?
Y'all I had the nicest customer today 🥹
For context, I'm in central Michigan so due to the Canadian wildfires, it has gotten smoky here. I was only going to go out if there was an active promo, and there was at this time.
I had four different orders at Meijer, and this customer had the largest one. It was a regular order compared to what I usually get, plus FOUR packs of water and a 2.5 gallon water jug, so I had to take 6 trips from my car to the customer's door.
I'll admit it was pretty tiring especially with the extra orders on top of it, but this was the nicest customer I've ever had. I believe they (or someone they live with) were disabled because they had a cane near the entrance, and I also imagine it would be hard for them to carry this whole order.
In case it's hard to read, the note says "Dear [youngsurpriseperson], Thank you for working hard. Read the love letter God gave us. Hope is there. Jesus love you. He sees you and your struggles." I don't consider myself religious but I will say I love when people use the gospel to be selfless. The customer left a $10 tip, so tonight I made $50 in 2.5 hours. Plus I got a rubber bracelet that says "Love never fails"
What's that sub where it shows social media screenshots of people who assume everyone online is American.
Like someone will be like "I cannot survive in 35 degree weather it's too hot" and someone will respond "What??? It's fucking cold what the hell are you talking about?" and OP will say "There are countries that don't use Fahrenheit. Most in fact don't."
Customer thought she ordered 12 coffees for only $3.99.
Last night I got a 7/11 order that included a canned coffee. The customer messaged me and told me that it's supposed to include 12 coffees and not one. I wasn't sure why she didn't just order 12 coffees, but she showed me a screenshot and circled an order for a $3.99 canned coffee that said "12 ct" in the photo. I asked if she thought that she would get 12 coffees for that price, and she said yes. She told me that I should contact Doordash support since she ordered 12 coffees and that it should be honored. There were only 8 of that specific drink in stock at the store, so she wouldn't have been able to get that amount anyway. All they told me over the phone was that if she wanted the extra drinks, then she needs to place a new order. Is there any explanation as to why it said 12 ct on her order?
Can you be aplatonic and still feel lonely?
So within the past year I've begun to think I'm aplatonic. There's really a lot of factors that go into this. I have autism so it's already hard for me to communicate with others. I moved for university almost 2 years ago and haven't made a single friend, I'm just dating someone I met over Bumble.
I tried, but maybe not that hard. I tried to do things like join clubs but it didn't work out, as it felt like everyone else already knew each other, and that I wasn't even seen as an option. Nobody really taught me how to "make friends" because everyone assumes you already know. I just gave up. If I really wanted friends, wouldn't I have tried harder? Maybe I'm aplatonic to an extent. I found out I'm just sometimes happier alone because I don't have to deal with people I can't control, but sometimes I'm alone for days and it hurts sometimes. So is it possible to be aplatonic and lonely? Does anyone else feel this way?
What are the best examples of pacifist media?
I've noticed especially in the mid 2010s that pacifist media was becoming a thing. Steven Universe, Undertale, and Persona 5 are probably my favorite examples of this. Instead of killing their enemies, the protagonists want to coexist with them (pacifism is a choice in Undertale, but it's still a good example.) I'm just wondering what other types of media have similar themes?
Does anyone know what the artist is using to seal these?
What do these countries have in common?

People who say "uh-oh!" whenever I drop something.
This used to happen when I worked in retail. I went to Target today and I was holding a 12 pack of Strawberry Dr Pepper by its handle and because it ripped, it fell out of my hands and an employee at the register said "uh-oh!" It just feels so patronizing, infantilizing, and sometimes tone-deaf when people say this to me. I stg these people would do the same thing if they saw somebody accidentally drop their baby in their carrier.
Why does she have different colored outfits in the Japanese and Western versions?
The pink outfit is shown in the Japanese version, the blue outfit is seen in the Western version.
We're always taught not to talk to strangers and how to protect ourselves as children online, but why don't we teach people how to not be predators? I understand that doing this can only go so far, but it would be good for high schoolers to learn this by being taught the consequences of accosting children for immoral purposes. They could also be shown clips from To Catch A Predator and other videos that expose online child predators.
