I get a lot of attention from women, and while its flattering, it’s also painful. I can’t say the right thing, I can’t speak the right social code. It’s so defeating. I have a lot of social anxiety but when I’m invited out and I’m actually approached by women it hurts. I want so bad to find a girlfriend, to have a real connection, whatever it means to feel a connection. But when they realize I can’t social code like a neurotypical, all interest is lost. It’s rejection after rejection. And I’m not a creep, I’m not socially intolerable by a long shot. I get along with people, but when it comes to getting to know people on a personal language it feels impossible

A lot of the AOT fanbase, including myself, sympathize with the Yeagerists. For all we know they are young people who have no knowledge of the outside world but have witnessed the crimes against Paradis. In the anime they are portrayed as kids wanting to protect their homeland. And if you’ve followed seasons 1-3 they had every right to do so.

I genuinely believe they were the most sympathetic characters on attack on titan. They all seemed like scared kids. All we saw in seasons 1-3 was their suffering. Of course they want to protect themselves.

But why exactly were they the villains in season 4? It just seemed so forced. Like we had to root for the alliance, and they made such a point to encourage the audience to do so. In the manga, when Floch was about to execute Yelenia and Onion coupon, all of the background characters were portrayed as demons, Onion coupons last stand “oh you guys are a bunch of xenophobes”, during Flochs last stand he was all lime “arggg my eldian EMPIRE!!!!! I’m a comical villain!!!!(when lore wise he shouldn’t have even known what the Eldian empire was).

It just felt so forced for the audience to hate them. Like yes of course! The only way for us to disagree with the people we’ve seen suffering for the majority of the series is to portray them as mindless N*zis! It’s such one dimensional for such a great story as AOT. They weren’t given anything more than a hivemind mindset narrative. Every individual of paradis that wanted to save their homeland was reduced to the devils Marley preached about. Even the random background Marlian soldiers were given an agreeable comradely persona. “Yes!! The Eldian warriors whose relatives we are incredibly racist towards! Those are our brothers in arms!!”.

I don’t think there should have been a forced narrative for them to be the villains. It felt so out of place, like Floch was a douchebag for the sake of being one. Imagine if Marlo was the one that survived Erwin’s changes and he led the Yeagarists. It’s like they were portrayed as being bad for the sake of convincing the audience they are bad an we needed to root for the alliance. Yes I know mass genocide is bad but reducing the people we’ve seen suffering for years to mindless participants of said genocide is very flat writing.

TLDR: I wish the Yeagarists weren’t portrayed as evil just for the sake of being so. Without the authors intervention they are incredibly sympathetic characters

The crowd was better, it was more lively (while still having room to breathe unlike the goat or bar Louie), regulars and staff were much better to be around.
