It still seems to me that the cocoon is the best Frontend for two screens.

Although I really liked IiSU, and used it in my RP6, I didn't like how it looked in Thor.

First of all, I want to thank whoever made the original post here suggesting Samsung Z Flip cases for the RG Rotate. After becoming slightly obsessed with this handheld, I decided to give these accessories a try... AND IT WAS THE BEST THING I COULD HAVE DONE.

And yes, I have two RG Rotates. 😅 I bought the plastic version first, but I liked it so much that I ended up getting the metal version as well because I wanted something more durable. The original plan was to sell the black one, but... yeah, I've already changed my mind. I've grown attached to it, especially now with the accessories.

I decided to try two different cases: a nylon one for the black Rotate and a leather one for the metal version, just to give it a more premium vibe. I don't know if that makes any sense, but it does in my head. 😂

As for protection, the leather case offers very little, and honestly, I wouldn't trust it to protect the device from a drop. The nylon one, on the other hand, actually feels like it could handle a minor drop pretty well. Both should do a good job protecting the Rotate from scratches and scuffs, though.

One thing I really like is that both cases have an elastic strap along the side, so they fit snugly around the Rotate without being too tight. They also have open corners, which means I can use the wrist strap attached to my RG Rotate to pull it out of the case ridiculously easily. It's such a small detail, but it works incredibly well.

So yeah, that's pretty much it. I definitely recommend giving these cases a try if, like me, you're not a fan of the 3D-printed covers or simply don't want to use a protective TPU case

And yes, I know all of those solutions exist. I just don't like any of them. 😂

I think since I got my RG Rotate, what I played the most in it has undoubtedly been Gameboy Color, especially Mario Tennis and Top Gear Pocket 2.

I am using some shaders and the power of the RGRotate makes a lot of difference.

At GBC I am using the Autentic GBC + Pixel Transparence.

At GB I am using Dot + Pixel Transparence.

I’d like to know more about how you guys use your Thor. Do you like using accessories like grips, trigger extensions, straps, etc., or do you prefer using just the handheld itself?

At home, I usually use mine with all the accessories, but whenever I take it somewhere, I prefer to remove them for better portability. With everything attached, it starts looking like a Game Boy from Nintendo Blast 😅😅 or some kind of Megazord.

One thing I really like is that the official case easily fits the Thor with all the accessories attached. Right now, I’m using the official grip, trigger extensions, a Nintendo Switch touchscreen stylus, a wrist strap I bought on AliExpress, and a microfiber cloth to clean the screens (very important!).

And for those of you who like using accessories, is there anything you’d recommend? Anything that actually improved your gaming experience in some way?

A while ago, I basically gave up on Vita3K because so many of the games I wanted to play just didn’t work. But with Vita3K Plus, it’s a completely different story. This has genuinely been a game changer for me.

In the picture, I’m running a game I really like, Assassin’s Creed Chronicles, and it actually runs better on my RP6 than it does on the Vita itself. Better FPS, higher resolution, and smoother gameplay overall.

The same thing happened with Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate.

Devices: SONY PSVita 1000 Retroid Pocket 6.

A while ago, I finished setting up my IiSU exactly the way I wanted it, with custom banners, GIFs, animated icons, and everything. It was working perfectly... until I decided to update IiSU to the latest version (0.0.7.4) And it just completely broke everything.

The icons on the home screen keep flickering, and I have to restart the app to get them working properly again. I've tried messing around with several settings, but nothing seems to fix it.

I even tried doing a completely clean install instead of just updating the app using the APK from GitHub. I set everything up again from scratch, but the problem is still there.

You guys are my last resort lol. Has anyone else had this issue? And more importantly, has anyone managed to fix it?

Doing some tests last night. I really liked the result. It won't run everything, but simpler things and pixelart are great. And the screen doesn't get that small.

When I laid eyes on RP6 I knew I would make this modification, because I had already done something similar in my RP5 (last photo). But I ended up selling the 5 to buy the 6, and as the main platform that I play on it is PS2 and PSP... nothing is fairer than making this modification. With the difference that I decided to use the color pattern of the Playstation, different from the silver I used in RP5.

The whole process was very simple to do, it only requires patience to open the Handheld without damaging any locks, but after opening everything is very simple. Well, I hope you like it.

This widescreen OLED display of the RP6 is amazing. And what a wonderful pixel art of this game Streets of Rage 4, I wanted more pixel arts in this style.

I told myself that I was going to test the 3ds games at RGRotate, but I ended up playing 50 minutes of Dragon Ball Z Extreme Butoden, and he downloaded it... so the tests will be for tomorrow.

I was waiting for some things that I bought, to arrive for me to open only once the RG Rotate.

A few days ago I asked about the RG Rotate in the metal version because I really liked this handheld I would like to keep it well maintained, and the metal one seemed more durable to me. I received several tips for placing a case on my Plastic Rotate to make it more resistant, but I would not like to lose any of its portability.

What bothered me the most were two things, placing it directly on smooth surfaces, which can end up scratching the plastic, and he accidentally turns on when he takes it or puts it in his pocket, so I made 3 simple modifications.

1 - I changed the RG and Power buttons for low profile buttons. (red)

2 - I placed the replacement R2/L2 buttons that come in the box, to improve access to these buttons.

3 - And finally I placed screw hiders, rubberized, which in addition to obviously hiding the holes of the screws, still leave the device slightly higher when placing on some surface, avoiding the direct touch of the housing, and because they are rubberized also prevent the Rotate from sliding on the surface, leaving it fixed where it is placed, avoiding accidents. (I used the screw protectors of the New 3Ds XL, easily available on AliExpress, and fit perfectly. )

I was already using Cocoon in RG Rotate for a while, but the single screen mode did not allow many modifications, this changed completely in the frontend update 3,0. And it was honestly amazing, to my taste.

I share here a little bit of how my RG Rotate is today.

Playing a little about what Cocoon 3 can do again. I think the adaptable size feature of the icons on the grid was by far the best addition.

I bought the black RG Rotate, which has a plastic back. I went with this version to save some money because I wasn’t sure if I’d actually like the device.

But I absolutely love it. This handheld is amazing and it basically never leaves my pocket. Now I’m starting to worry about its long-term durability, so I’m considering selling the black version and buying the metal one instead. It seems more solid, more premium-looking, and hopefully more durable.

I’d love to hear from people who own the metal RG Rotate. How is the overall build quality? And if anyone owns or has tried both versions, I’d really appreciate hearing your thoughts about the differences.

Should I make the switch? Does it actually make sense, and is it worth the extra money?

I had bought my first handheld, a New 3DS XL, a few months ago and I was simply in love with Luigis Mansion, and you know when you find a perfect vibe for a certain game... that day I knew what it is like.

I tested some launchers for RG Rotate. I particularly like to use these launchers on my Android handhelds to make them look more traditional console.

On the Rotate I tested the Beacon, Daijisho, RetroHrai, and now the Cocoon.

The RetroHrai I liked it a lot, but I felt some stuttering in use, as if it were not very well optimized for the power and limited ram of the Rotate.

And now I'm with Cocoon, and it's much faster, and it's just as good. I intend to keep it as the main launcher of RG Rotate.

Exploring Laucher RetroHrai, I really liked how versatile it can be, of course some details will be the same in all Handhelds, but in general it is possible to make customizations that leave it very different, both in the choice of platform and in the presentation of the Library.
