As Quest Pro owners, old & new, how are you feeling about the Steam Frame?

Just curious where all of your heads are at on this upcoming product.

My initial thoughts are that it would be a sidegrade with more pros than cons, except for the fact I lose native face tracking, which unfortunately is a non-negotiable loss anymore.

I could just get or make a babble, but I appreciate the native no-frills aspect of it in Quest Pro and don't feel the value of the Steam Frame over the Qpro justifies an entire HMD purchase.

Was this preventable or unavoidable? (animal crossing incident)

As an FYI, I was not the driver and so I do lack full spatial context and awareness of the scene outside of the dashcam footage.

Driver says it came out of nowhere, that they blended in with the "bushes". I argued that they were pretty visible in the divider beforehand and slowing down would have been advised, and not doing so indicated low awareness or not paying attention.

What do you think?

(voice in the video is just a video the driver is listening to)

Should I put this inside...?

I like the thickness and the length, I'm just worried about how clean it is. Anything to look out for?

It's her face, really. I can't really put my finger squarely on it but she just looks so plain and wide-eyed, like as if she's some stock NPC giving some thousand-yard stare.

This was one of the coolest things I've ever seen and experienced in VR. It had me sooo nostalgic that I was just grinning ear-to-ear like a goof.

Right now they only have Forest 1 available in the demo world, but you can access the offline alpha client with way more content if you sub to the patreon, and I think Forest 2 opens up in the demo world as well.

They're targeting a 2026 winter release and now I'm kinda hype...

Overall this caught me off-guard and hit me in the feels. It's a whole different vibe actually *being* in Pioneer 2...

Edit: i am not affiliated with the development of this world/project at all, just sharing what i came across as an old pso vet.

edit #2: mothmants are actually unnerving upclose in your face poking you

Here's the world incase you're curious...honestly I might donate...
