Finally tried out a x3d processor, Goddamn was i missing out.

2010-2015- main PC had amd fx 6300. not great, overheated and meh performance

2018-2022- new build with i9 9900k. since i had a bad experience with amd last time, went intel. good experience

2022-2026- another build with 12900kf. good performance but really hot. staying intel because 9900k was good.

3 days ago, got a 9800x3d bundle from microcenter, did platform update, same gpu (4090) and ddr5.

i play in 4k so i see a 10-20% performance increase in games but a HUGE increase in stability. no more random dips or stutters. upgrading was expensive but worth it.

going to stay on this until am6 and the 1st/2nd gen of the x3d cpus on that platform.
