Project car guy back again. Any classic Ford F100 geniuses out there? Want to help me replace a carburetor? Or...anything else?

I posted a while back about how I wanted to learn about cars, and you guys were all, "JUST BUY A BEATER, BRO!"

Well, I took your advice.

I'd been looking at old pickups online for months at that point, and the opportunity popped up for me to buy a (blessedly cheap) bumpside Ford that was running a year or two ago. That said, it needs some love to get it running now after sitting outside with a bad carburetor.

Now that I've got it in my garage I'm feeling a little....overwhelmed. No amount of YouTube prepared me for this.

Not looking for free labor or for someone to "just come fix it," but could definitely use another set of eyes and someone who knows what's what to give me a hand. I guess the dream is someone who's bored on a gray Saturday who loves projects.

Anyone got a mechanically inclined dad they want to lend me?

Labor Day vacation in Savannah with friends - Am I doing this right? And what about Tybee?

I take an annual trip with my friends from college (a guy and two women). A different city every year. New Orleans, Montreal, Mexico City. This year is Savannah, which we're all really excited about.

We graduated in 1999, so we're all grown up, and our trips usually involve eating incredible food, visiting some bars, maybe some swimming and vintage clothes shopping, and a lot of hanging out and catching up. We're all very active, into various types of music, etc. So we're not like knitting grandparents or anything, but we're also not into being surrounded by anything like the frat boy culture that can be pretty prevalent in parts of Austin.

So far, I know I want to go to The Gray. Mashama Bailey had a restaurant in Austin (where I live) called Diner Bar that I really loved. So that's pretty much decided (unless you talk me out of it).

We've gotten a few restaurant recommendations for places like Lester's, Brochu's, Saint Bibiana, Hitch, The Olde Pink House. And bar recs for The Hot Eye, Late Air, Artillery, which sound good.

I'd love to hear which are must-eats and which you'd avoid.

One thing I've really been mulling over is Tybee Island. I'd love to see the ocean and go swimming if possible. Will it be crazy over the holiday weekend? What are the best parts to visit? It looks like it's sort of in sections.

What else might I be missing?

I see these posts on r/Austin all the time, so I hope I'm not being a pest. I just don't know much about your city except that it looks like it'll be great place to visit. Thank you!

Changing tastes....literally. What discontinued food items do you miss the most?

For me it's Danish Wedding Cookies, Nabisco Famous Chocolate Wafters, and I just learned they've discontinued Durkee's Famous Sauce, which was my secret ingredient for perfect deviled eggs.

Oh, and from being a teenager, Peanut Butter Boppers, omg.

Old gay hardcore magazines - I love them. Anyone have a bunch of them sitting around?

I always see old Playboys and Hustlers and Penthouse magazines on Facebook Marketplace, but I've always wanted a collection of vintage gay adult magazines. I've collected some of the more modern stuff, but I really love these magazines. They're such interesting archives, in addition to being full of good looking dudes.

I'm not talking about those "physique magazines," though I'd be happy with those, too. I'm thinking anything from the 1970s to the 2000s.

I'm in Texas, but open to figuring out how to get them from you if you have a closet (or a box) full of old jerk mags you haven't looked at in ages.
