Suck it, Sander!

Suck it, Sander!

48 ABY and we're starting to see the downfall of the Galactic Empire (Eriadu Authority). This was honestly a more dramatic fight than I expected it to be.

Pulled my attacking fleet back and sent the Bou'Halec fleet instead to handle this problem.

I was genuinely so excited when I saw her appear

Imagine my surprise when I killed those 3 heroes and all of a sudden a black shape enters the battle. So glad I got out before Eclipse activated her gravity well projectors*. Bou'Halec* made short work of Eclipse.

Crimson Empire didn't even last a standard week 🤣

https://preview.redd.it/4flt2bmqr1jh1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=3fa78e1e5a860954a6bd9e4ba28ac035f4a74f77

For context, this is about my ongoing Hutt campaign, which I've made a couple posts about (like here and this moment). I'd kept a spy on Byss in case Palpatine came there. He ended up dying on Bilbringi, and Carnor Jax took over on Byss. As soon as I saw these heroes pop up, I rushed over with my Bou'halec and cleanly ended that regime. I realized I missed getting rid of their ground heroes, but this will suffice.

Daala then took over, and I rushed a fleet over to the Maw. I killed one of her ground heroes (the stormtrooper captain), but Tol Sivron escaped. Pellaeon took over shortly afterwards.

This has been an awful set of setbacks for the Eriadu Authority. They lost Dark Empire in the most humiliating way ever (Palpatine dying from scooter attacks), lost Crimson Empire almost instantly, and then had to deal with Daala giving up as soon as she lost The Maw. Eriadu (the planet) is also completely surrounded by other factions. I'm not sure if Delvardus has his SSD or not, but no one's bothered to attack Eriadu yet.

From Mandator 2 to Mandator 3 (with other campaign updates)

Another post with the latest updates from my Hutt campaign. After the events in my last post, I went after Pentastar. I drove them off Selaggis, and not long after that I got hit by a 700 pop fleet which took a few battles to defeat.

Note: It is 31 ABY; this started in era 1

I basically steamrolled through some Imperial Remnant territory before hitting PA's home sector, where I assassinated Kaine over Entralla.

Bou'Halec for the win

All too easy

I took Entralla and Bastion, leaving PA with only 2 planets left. However, I still didn't get any integration message. It took some time before I realized that PA had a MASSIVE fleet over Yaga Minor, including a Mandator 3. I went right into deal with that particular problem.

RIP smuggler bro who gave me a free interdictor; now I need to spend a pittance to get one

Bou'Halec vs. Mandator 3

Nearly lost my whole fleet for this but so worth it

It is now 34 ABY. Pentastar has been integrated by the Eriadu authority, and they have now declared Dark Empire. The Duskhan League is still running around, and they've kept getting close to Hutt space. The Imperial Remnant is leaderless and only holds Coruscant. The New Republic, despite having their capital next to Hutta, has left us untouched. EOTH is still the second most powerful faction in the galaxy, and it seems that they have left Nirauan completely undefended. Oops!

This is genuinely the weirdest campaign I've played.

Guess it's my lucky day

Going to have more posts from this Hutt campaign I've been running. I've been pushing back the CSA after they wasted an endless sum of credits in trying to wipe me off the map, and I managed to go right into their home territory. Imagine my surprise when I'm greeted with a Mandator 2 at Maryo, the last planet they had in their original part of space. I know it's a rare finding, so this was quite satisfying.

It does make me wonder about how long they've had this ship for, and why they didn't use it earlier.

https://preview.redd.it/3fjvdftmshih1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=5f5aac06921ebc90f123b112497cf4d7ea5b8a7d

What makes this campaign more bizarre is that CSA was almost completely wiped out (they had a couple planets in what was Zsinj's part of space as well), and yet they still managed to get this ready. Maybe I just had to wait long enough before it spawned; it was 29-30 ABY when this battle took place.

My fleet had Darksaber and a bunch of ships with it. So far, Darksaber has survived.

Phenomenal cover of Basket Case

Mods please remove if this breaks a rule here.

I came across a cover of Basket Case by d'Artagnan, a band which I've listened to a few times here and there. This style will definitely not be everyone's cup of tea, but I love Celtic punk/adjacent genres, so this was absolutely perfect for me.

Here's the cover if anyone's interested.

Zsinj lost the eating contest (also where things are with my Hutt campaign)

Bou'Halec = instant win button

This campaign is getting really interesting. It's 26 ABY and now two factions have been integrated (Maldrood in 20 ABY or so, and then Zsinj just now). CSA is on their last legs. Hapans have lost their home territory but are still alive. Thrawn is dead. The Yevetha are in all kinds of random places and EOTH is all over the place.

Imperial Remnant took over Maldrood, and Eriadu took over Zsinj's former holdings. Based on this progress I'm expecting Eriadu to declare Dark Empire.

The Imps also brought in 3 ISD's and 2 Tectors. Glad to say that I didn't lose any heroes in this one.

Not sure why, but I didn't get the "With Thrawn's death, the Empire is leaderless" message after killing him.

Bootana Hutta saved me

https://preview.redd.it/ig5mmd8nt7hh1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=1612a1d7dec581eadec4d3a7de5e69ea0ea1bc4c

I got the alert that an enemy fleet was coming for Hutta, but I didn't know that the attack was still going on (turns out Verpalion's slow hyperdrive was why). When the Empire hit Hutta, I knew it was going to be bad, but I locked in and focused on defense.

I kept spamming Bootana Hutta ships because I had a feeling that Isard wasn't going to retreat. The Imperials destroyed my defensive stations but for some reason didn't bother with my shipyard. Thanks to all the reinforcements I called in, I finally caused something to change in this campaign.

I'm playing as the Hutts on Full Galaxy (Medium), and it's been a drag of a campaign. We're already at the Black Fleet Crisis and not a single faction has been eliminated. Pestage was running the Empire for a while, then Isard took over and was in charge for even longer. Currently, Hapans are on their way out. Maldrood is almost gone (Kosh is alive somewhere else). Zsinj did go crazy but now he's lost almost all his territory. CSA has been my main enemy lately, so I'm going to focus on them soon.

What a battle, all the same. Quite a shame I lost these heroes.

I WALK ALONE I WALK ALONE

I don't know what led to this. My guess is that it's a talent show somewhere in Europe (UK, maybe?), and I have a feeling that these guys were not trolling at all.

I've seen this video a few times over the years and it never fails to make me laugh.

Is the Tagge Battlecruiser any good?

I've been kinda thinking about trying out House Tagge (Project Proteus version) as a minor warlords campaign, but I've never been a big fan of the Tagge legitimacy group simply because I've felt the battlecruisers are quite unimpressive.

Are those ships any good? I know that at least for Proteus, they can be paired with other stronger vessels like the torpedo sphere, and in general these larger vessels can still be a pain to fight against in early game.

How big of a deal is this?

Got an email from Belmont saying that they’re still on probation. I already applied to this school; should I be concerned about this?

Is someone’s dog missing?

I was going for a run a little earlier when I found a dog at Erickson and Aldergrove. Can’t tell if it’s an actually missing dog or if it belongs to one of the nearby homes.

I didn’t see a collar, and I didn’t check for a tag of any kind.

I think it was chilling by the bench near the Aldergrove marsh trail area last time I checked. I later drove by to see if the dog was there but didn’t find it. It may have either wandered off or went back into one of the properties here.

Whatever is going on, it was quite friendly with me, so there’s that.

GLORY BE TO AUTORESOLVE!!!

Started an Eriadu campaign just for fun, and not too long into this campaign I got attacked at Sluis Van by a fairly large NR fleet. The first time this happened, I was able to chase the enemy off since Delvardus and friends (Delvardus was still in an ISD at that time) made it in time. This time, I couldn't get my defensive fleet there in time, and all I had to fend off NR was my garrison, the Validusia type station, and another defensive station.

I was doing a surprisingly good job at holding the line; even managed to kill Ragab just as the Bulwark III and Firmus Nantz made it. However, once those big boys got to the scene, I knew I was cooked, so I hit autoresolve. Somehow even the Bulwark III went down thanks to it! My fleet reached Sluis Van just as this battle ended, and we were able to finish off Nantz since he was all by himself.

Got really lucky with this.

The Clone Wars

My EOTH campaign, for some reason, no longer works (whenever I click on the save file the game immediately crashes). However, I still managed to get a very interesting battle in before things fell apart. Clone Thrawn successfully defeats his progenitor in a short battle over Emberlene!

https://preview.redd.it/mcy5ge7de5ah1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=da813d74908b0b58c5e75fd0f05648f33e63a746

I wish I had a screenshot of the actual battle; it was definitely quite entertaining. I can say that Thraawn was actively involved in this battle.

With Thrawn's death, the Galactic Empire has hit yet another low. They're already close getting wiped off the map; now they're even leaderless. If I'm able to resolve this problem, then I can't wait to finish off this campaign.

Oh, Corellia...

Continuing my glorious EOTH campaign since I remembered that wasn't completed yet. Called in clone Thrawn for this, and it was still not an easy fight. Not too happy about losing the gladiators though :(

The good thing is that I can rebuild almost everything here.

Finally completed my first proper Minor Warlords campaign as Grunger's Empire!

I started my Grunger's Empire campaign a few months ago when I saw that Project Proteus was out. I had played several minor warlords campaigns before (Sector 5, Zero Command, maybe a couple others), but those campaigns never really continued especially because of all the updates that came after 3.5 was released; the save files didn't work. I was really excited to try this one, but it was quite exhausting.

I went with the Known Galaxy Large map (didn't want to bother with EOTH since I already have a campaign as them going on) with an Era 1 start, and in that Grunger starts off with only 1 planet. All I had was a single planet and a dream, and that was all it took to go off and take the whole galaxy for myself.

I don't remember too much since I've had a lot of breaks in this campaign because of other stuff going on, but I do remember that the start was pretty tough. You start off on Ordo, and you basically have to fend off Maldrood, Zsinj, the Hapans, CSA, Empire, and maybe NR. Early on, I got attacked a lot (pretty much all the time at Taris) by Zsinj and the Empire, and I managed to kill a couple Grand Admirals and decapitate 2 factions (IR by killing Thrawn, Zsinj's Empire by killing Zsinj when I chased him way out). The first faction I integrated was Zsinj; although I was not the strongest faction by far, because I did so many missions, my legitimacy was the highest. Maldrood joined me not too long afterwards while I was fending off CSA and PA (PA was a massive pain in every way).

Not long before integrating PA, I rejected Dark Empire and let the Empire stay in the game a little longer. By this time, I think they were also contending with the Duskhan League, so this gives an idea of how slow things were. They would build Eclipse, but not long after they declared DE, somehow Palpatine died again, and thus they became the Ruling Council and I became the Galactic Empire. I immediately pushed towards Pellaeon's regime, and the rest was easy. Ruling Council would be the next faction that I would integrate, and then it would be Eriadu, with old man Sander Delvardus dying rather quickly.

Time to share the final haul of units/heroes that I had right at the end of this campaign. Very poetic that this story starts and ends at Endor.

Ground units above Bakura

My list of space heroes/fleet commanders. The 3 heroes I started with are grunger (4th row, 1st column) and 2 other people whose names I forgot already (2nd row, 2nd column and 2nd row, 3rd column). Cronal was a lucky gift I got from EA

Ground/admin heroes/ground commanders. This campaign didn't start with any ground heroes, so this was a good haul.

The never ending excess of space units. Needs more triangles.

All in all, I do recommend this campaign for anyone who really wants a challenge and to feel the satisfaction of a "rags to riches" story. The start is definitely rough, but you just need to be patient and keep fighting on your terms to win. It is certainly an exhausting campaign, though.
