Arthur's version of Hell...

And the crazier thing about this is there likely isn't anyone driving the bus...

Whose clubhouse would you wanna be in? Arthur’s treehouse, Buster’s blanket club, Brain’s science club, Francine’s room, Muffy’s clubhouse or Sue Ellen’s reading club?

Opinion…I Like the Crazy Bus Song More Than the “Binky” Song

I do get why the crazy bus song is viewed as annoying by Arthur in-universe (especially played very loudly again and again) but even though the lyrics are nonsensical…at least there’s some creativity behind some of the wordplay.

The Binky song is literally one word repeated over and over again…I understand that the band is Swedish and the lyrics aren’t in English, and again, these are kids under age 10…I don’t expect any of them to be listening to high art or anything.

I also understand that Arthur and his friends played the song in some form of moderation and he didn’t shove it down his family’s throats like DW did…I just think it’s funny that his taste in music really isn’t that much better than hers.

Rewatch

I was rewatching the episode So funny I forgot to laugh and its been a while since I rewatched so maybe the general consensus on this episode has changed but does anyone find Arthur to be way too out of character this episode. I just never thought he would be this much of a bully and I don't mind everyone calling him out because bullying is wrong obviously but having Muffy and Francine do it are the worst people to do it because that just comes off as them being hypocrities because if Arthur is being called out for this specific episode of bullying which he should be don't get me wrong but why aren't Muffy and Francine getting called out for the numerous amount of times they have bullied people as well. Francine especially is always insulting and bullying and people just accept it because she's Francine.

My Arthur Hot takes.

Feel free to disagree with me, I can respect anyone’s opinions here.

  1. I’m tired of people meming or claiming mulitple misconceptions about the show or taking it too seriously like claiming David and Jane being bad parents (this isn’t really that true to be honest, we need to remember we are viewing from Arthur’s POV so while he may think they prefer DW over him sometimes they still clearly love and care for their son and it’s supposed to be relatable and realistic to real life kids.) Let alone I think they are the best cartoon parents in my opinion because compared to true bad cartoon parents like modern day Peter and Lois, Butters’ parents and others David and Jane love both their kids equally and are really caring and loving characters equally. I get kinda mad to see them on worst cartoon parents lists sometimes which makes me feel like these people never watched the show or idk. yes David and Jane are not perfect sometimes but not all parents have to be perfect and I feel like people take that episode “Arthur’s Big Hit” and other divisive episodes as being “proof” of bad parenting too seriously a bit, which leads me to my second point.

Also I’m tired of some fans claiming Arthur and DW hate each other which is also far from true, even at DW’s worst, they are supposed to be realistic silblings and do love and care for each other equally. I don’t really like the fist meme personally, and I only see the show myself as wholesome entertainment, Feel free to disagree but yeah

  1. The flash animated seasons are not that bad, I grew up on this era personally and the writing compared to modern SpongeBob and Simpsons is still as good as the older seasons. I also defend modern Spongebob and Simpsons but we need to remember this is technically Arthur for the new kids of today. My favorite episodes were Framed and the Halloween one where Ladonna and DW play a prank on Arthur.

  2. I don’t consider “Arthur’s Big Hit” and other divisive or hated episodes as canon, and I often skip them when rewatching the show.

  3. I like Ladonna and Ted. to be honest I never knew they were hated in the first place. I am southern myself so their introduction was amazing.

  4. Arthur’s Missing Pal was not that bad, just mid as hell. I do like the 3d versions of the characters though as their designs are much more closer to Brown’s books than the TV show.

  5. I don’t ship Arthur and Francine, I instead ship Arthur and Fern but I can’t say why as it’s personal. I mostly ship Francine and Muffy together too.

This painting is now Public domain in the US as of 2026

It’s called Composition with Red, Blue and Yellow by Piet Mondrian (1930), so it’s now free to use and remix. And yes I handcanon it as Binky‘s favorite painting personally.

Important message to fans of early WordGirl recordings...

Reasons: he manipulated my homeboys TJ Botsford and Johnson into liking his songs just because they said his songs were trash

That segment is just pure nightmare fuel

He might be looking for his next autistic WordGirl fan to traumatize like he did to me when I was four in 2009

Arthur's Family Feud is Literally the Big Hit Episode Done Right

Like, literally, right down to the resolution of this episode, it is beat for beat everything that Big Hit wanted to be but isn't.

Let me explain.

To those unfamiliar...Arthur's Family Feud is about Arthur and DW accidentally messing up their dad David's souffle. They (of course) each blame the other and there's all this back and forth about what happened. David kind of acts over the top childish about it at some points, but that's when Jane tries to reel him back in to some form of reality.

They both give the kids a chance to explain their side of the story, and neither one of them really give the whole truth. They are both sent upstairs to their bedrooms to calm down and eventually, they both admit that they each more or less played a part in the downfall of the souffle.

David is still upset at that point, but more or less contends that it was an accident and the kids are each about to go do their own activities, when they see how upset their dad is, they ultimately come to the realization that he is what really matters to them and they make an attempt to make him a replacement souffle...of course, being literal children, they have no idea how to cook and David helps them. It ends with them all enjoying the souffle that they made together, with David even admitting that this one is even better because he made it with the kids.

Now...how does that relate back to the Big Hit episode?

Most fans hate that we really only see Arthur getting punished (I would argue that there's plenty of evidence to support that Jane and David DID still punish DW, and even if they didn't...she DEFINITELY received consequences). I think this is another scenario where both kids really did need some time to cool off, and I do agree that DW did need to learn a lesson about respecting other people's property.

I have said before that I actually think the whole episode could reasonably take place in the Read house. The school stuff really doesn't add much here in my opinion...I know Binky getting peer pressured into violence is something, but Arthur has covered peer pressure multiple times before, and I don't know if this episode needed that.

I think that what was really needed was a chance for both kids to reflect and that DW needed a subplot where she is working hard on something like a picture that Kate maybe messes up. That way she can understand how it feels to work hard on something only for it to be wrecked. That is when she and Arthur both apologize to each other and when Arthur sees her painting, he decides she is maybe old enough to help him make a new plane...this one being even better because it was made together.
