Arthur's worse qualities

It's been awhile since I watched the show but I think besides being described as a typical "everyday man" Arthur doesn't have much of a personality. Arthur is described as your typical "nice guy" but what would you say his most negative qualities are?

Queen Emmaline and Plank

Am I the only one who shipped the mermaid queen with her senior advisor plank when I was younger. I know you probably shouldn't overthink it, but their relationship gave me romantic vibes as Emmaline's husband aka Cora and Oona's father is apparently out of the picture, and emmaline seems to hang onto plank's every word such as when he accused Sofia's family of capturing Oona and easily convinced her as well despite Sofia pleading otherwise. Then when sven and his family stole the queen's trident to prevent her from making the storm bigger and tells the two he saw Oona the queen seemed to believe him for a second until plank accused Sofia of bewitching sven causing them to resume chasing the seahorses again showing the queen listens to everything plank says even with evidence against it. Emmaline was also apparently there during the attack on humans years ago, and knows about Plank's scar, and even touches it tenderly in one scene which plank doesn't seem to mind. Then when Oona is rescued, and confirmed Sofia was telling the truth while Cora scolded plank for his prejudice her mom by contrast doesn't seem to hold plank accountable and can even be shown introducing him to the royal family at the end despite the fact that his bad judgment nearly caused her to endanger innocent people. Plank for his part seems to respect the queen enough to follow her orders such as when she ordered him to follow Sofia, or the fact that despite constantly urging her to take action against the humans he didn't object when she decided to wait until sundown (although to be fair you can't really go against the word of a queen). So what do you guys think do you also ship the queen and her advisor? It's too bad we didn't get to see Plank in the following merroway cove episodes.

The royal family forgiving the mermaid queen

I always enjoyed the merroway cove storyline in the show and I hope we get see more in the future episodes of Sofia the first: Royal magic but until then I've decided to discuss anything related to the storyline. When Oona was kidnapped by sea monster Cedric, and queen emmaline accuses her family of doing so, and only gives Sofia until sundown to return her or she'll sink her family's ship Sofia at first tries to get her family to help with the search by telling them about Oona's abduction and the Queen's threat to sink the floating palace(without telling them the secret of her amulet), but they didn't believe her because they didn't believe in mermaids at first, and assumed she fell asleep reading her mermaid book, and it was just something she dreamt about. When the Queen's deadline was up she went to surface and conjured the storm, but immediately stopped it when Oona was safely returned to her. When the storm cleared up and Sofia reunites with her family Roland apologizes on their behalf for doubting her, and it's happy endings all around. I know they were all excited at the thought of meeting real live mermaids but does anyone else find it questionable that they usually forgave the merpeople who not so long ago endangered them. I thought this especially showed how forgiving Sofia and Miranda are as it was later revealed in the series Sofia's father was lost at sea and Sofia nearly lost her whole family the same way. I doubt they didn't know the queen caused the storm as when they saw her pointing her trident upwards towards the sky they debated whether she was making the storm go away or not presumably remembering the details of Sofia's story and putting two and two together which is especially evident by Roland's apology. I myself figured that Roland and Miranda had a chat with emmaline and as parents themselves understood she only conjured the storm because she wanted to save her daughter, and as parents themselves they understood where she was coming from. What do you guys think?

If the mermaids ever found out about Cedric

In the floating palace special when sea monster Cedric kidnaps Oona Sofia swam back to tell the other mermaids what happened but they didn't believe her, and accused her human family of capturing Oona because according to plank sea monsters don't usually dwell in merroway cove. Naturally due to the theme of the special and the fact that in the earlier seasons everyone was blind to Cedric's villainous side nobody ever found out it was him, but I was just curious what would happen if the merpeople ever found out Cedric was the sea monster since technically plank was right about at least one of the humans aboard the floating palace taking Oona captive. Would such a revelation cause the mermaids to distrust humans again? Or would they let bygones be bygones since Cedric has changed since, and the mermaids had befriended humans since then?

Dj and Stephanie in Crimes and Michelle's Demeanor

This may be an unpopular opinion but does anyone else have a problem with the way DJ and Stephanie acted at the end of Crimes and Michelle's Demeanor. Don't get me wrong I totally agree Michelle needed to be disciplined because she was old enough at that point but many people pointed out Danny was showing blatant parental favoritism towards Michelle in this episode, and despite genuinely being a good father Danny seemed to be enjoying punishing his eldest daughters in this episode. Michelle may have been getting away with a lot of misdeeds at the point but to be fair she didn't deny it when her sisters told Danny she started the pillow fight, or manipulated him into punishing them. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the real problem that Michelle thought it was okay to do whatever she wanted until Danny put his foot down cause I highly doubt Michelle would out herself by saying "Yes you do" when Danny denied the fact that he lets her do whatever she wants thus ruining her karma houndi status. It was great DJ and Stephanie used Michelle bringing her Kitty pool into the house to make a point that their dad lets Michelle get away with murder, and stood up for themselves when Danny again tried to blame them for the situation ,but I just hope it was for the right reason as when Danny acknowledged he was at fault for Michelle's behavior they were at first disappointed believing Michelle was off the hook again until Danny clarified she wasn't to which they became delighted with DJ telling Danny to "nail her" and to think about his wet 👟 if she tried to pull her cute stuff. Again I know Michelle needed to be punished and they were probably upset about missing their concert but again their dad was the one punishing them not Michelle, but they seemed to put all the blame on Michelle and being happy about her getting punished kinda makes them look petty. It's been awhile since I've seen the episode and the show but what do y'all think as it's shown that when they're not teaming up against Michelle dj and Stephanie clash with each other as shown in episodes like "Danny in charge".

Where was Barbie gonna go

When Barbie discovered how terrible Sunnyside was she decided to remain loyal to her friends, and decided to escape with them once woody returned. But where was Barbie intending on going once they escaped? She wasn't one of Andy's toys and Molly clearly didn't want her anymore which is why it was more fitting she ended up staying with ken at Sunnyside and together they turned the daycare into a better place after lotso's defeat but she only ended up staying because ken stopped her from falling into the dumpster with the others.

Arnold in Student Teacher

I know giving advice is one of Arnold's many habits but when he advised Helga to talk to her sister Olga after seeing how upset Helga was about her does anyone wonder if he was just being his genuine helpful self, and was concerned for Helga since Olga was making her miserable, or did he do so for Olga's sake as well. I noticed that Arnold seemed to be developing somewhat of a crush on Olga in this episode just like he did on Helga's nanny Inga in the episode Helga and the nanny. Arnold (along with Gerald, Phoebe, and Stinky) were pretty mad when Helga revealed she framed Inga and got her fired which wasn't brought up again. However Helga made it clear in that episode that she didn't appreciate Inga controlling her every move, and I think it's even possible Helga also disliked Inga because she reminded her of her sister as both are beautiful, blonde females who are quite skilled, and adored by everyone. Does anyone think Arnold likely remembered the Inga fiasco and was trying to prevent Helga from sabotaging Olga like she did Inga.

Kim's animated counterpart

I've seen an observation that Kim in the show H2o: Mermaid adventures isn't as unbearable as her live action counterpart although she did still try to expose the girls' secret in the episode "Reported missing" like she did in the live action episode "Something fishy" (and a comment Rikki made implies animated Kim still likes to snoop through Cleo's things). After re-watching the former episode I'm thinking Kim being more mellow in the animated series makes a lot. During the part where Kim first tries to expose Cleo by spilling a glass of water on her during lunch which Cleo manages to foil by running to the bathroom in time Kim explains to her parents that Cleo is a mermaid and turns into one whenever she gets wet which they dismissed as her watching too much TV. Then when they're back downstairs Cleo's mom tells Kim something along the lines of "having a vivid imagination is very good but not when she starts tossing glasses of water at her sister" and after Cleo comes back downstairs they order kim to apologize to her. I've seen numerous fans complain that Cleo's parents particularly don are ineffective when it comes to disciplining Kim which likely contributes to her bratty behavior, but in the animated series Cleo's parents appear to be disciplinarians as they didn't give Kim a pass for purposely spilling water on Cleo just because they assume Kim was being imaginative. Granted they probably should've gotten more details on why Kim would suspect such a thing as not believing her, and dismissing it as a childish fantasy likely made Kim even more determined to expose the girls, but still.

Hogtie the Mailman scene

During the scene where woody returns to Sunnyside and Jessie admits they were wrong to leave Andy especially her since it was her idea in the first place, and Woody in return says it's his fault for leaving them, and after proclaiming that from now on they stick together slinky reminds him that Andy's leaving for college causing Jessie to panic, say the above quote and exclaim they gotta get him home before Andy leaves tomorrow. I know you probably shouldn't overthink it but does anyone know any specific reason why Jessie at first insisted on only getting woody home until Woody made it clear all of them were busting out of there? Was she still feeling guilty about doubting Woody and Andy and felt she and the others deserved to be left to their fate at Sunnyside? Did she feel that only Woody had a chance of escaping because of how tight the security was at Sunnyside? I had doubts about this one because I know woody managed to escape before by sheer luck, and managed to return through Bonnie's 🎒 but at that point the others weren't aware woody escaped and assumed lotso killed him or something.

Molly feeling guilt about Andy's toys

In toy story 3 does anyone wonder and think it's possible despite giving him a hard time earlier in the film for still having his old toys Molly might've felt guilty when it looked like their mom accidentally threw Andy's toys away. After all the situation only happened because Andy stopped to help her carry the box of toys she had trouble lifting thus sending off a chain reaction. I was just curious because as shown through Mrs. Potato head's eye Andy's mom appeared apologetic towards Andy when she realised she must've thrown the trash bag with the toys in it away (although neither of them seemed surprised or questioned how the toys mysteriously made it back to the house at the end). I was just curious because despite becoming a stereotypical annoying younger sibling, and outgrowing her own childhood toys Molly seems to be a decent young lady as Andy mentioned to their mom he and Molly said goodbye like ten times before he left for college, and Molly made sure he said goodbye to buster. I was hoping because (spoiler alert for 5) that would certainly make Molly different from those girls in the fifth film who cyberbullied bonnie for still having her old toys and showed her no sympathy for losing them. From the toys perspective Molly might seem heartless for losing interest in them, and for not understanding Andy's attachment to them, but at least her genuine care for her family gives her a few decent qualities, and it would be nice to know despite not understanding how much they mean to her brother Molly would feel bad for him seeing as their absence upset him.

George and Angie's final decision in Girls' Night Out

After hearing Marisol sincerely apologise for her actions Angie forgave her and decided to help her one last time. Then during the scene where Angie seemingly admits the whole mess was her fault in order to convince George to let Marisol stay she tells him she's got an idea. Then the next morning they wake Marisol up to tell her she's living with Benny instead of on the streets and that's the last we see of Marisol. In my past post I asked some of you whether or not George and Angie handled the situation well with a majority of you agreeing Marisol was completely in the wrong for taking Carmen to a club behind their backs regardless of her intentions, and that it was Angie's fault for inviting her to their house in the first place which I came to accept but now I want to know if y'all think George and Angie genuinely forgave Marisol or they figured having her stay with Benny's was an even worse punishment than being homeless. I think forgiveness may have been the case with Angie, but George I'm not so sure since he was wary of Marisol from day one due to her background, and attitude and judging by the way he woke Marisol up, and called her a fool. I always liked the idea that after talking to Carmen her parents accepted that while misguided Marisol did have Carmen's best interest at heart but her past blinded her to the fact that her lifestyle doesn't work for everyone. That and the fact that Carmen was brought home safe and sound with no signs that she was drinking or doing drugs convinced George and Angie to give Marisol one more chance. After all they know how Carmen was affected deeply because she was harassed at her old school and the narrative made it clear it wasn't just typical teasing as even the beginning of the episode I only have eyes for you has Angie worried about Carmen's first day at Allendale despite George previously advising Carmen to stop caring so much about what other people think about her. Plus while Benny is horrible she beats being homeless and George certainly survived living with her. Also the next episode features Carmen going to her new school with no mention of her being grounded indefinitely causing me to think while mad her parents needed time to cool off. So let me know your thoughts down below.

Tiffany winning the Miss sea queen pageant

Does anyone know the specific reason Tiffany won the Miss sea queen pageant at the end of Something Fishy? I remember reading a comment about how Tiffany winning was the only good outcome from Kim's stunt, but just because Elliot soaked the other contestants with the hose doesn't mean they were ruined, and just because Kim tore Miriam's costume that shouldn't that automatically disqualify her as the audience and judge already saw her costume and seemed to like it the most based on their applause so Tiffany couldn't have won the pageant by default especially since Tiffany probably also got wet if only a little. Plus even though Cleo was the only one who managed to stay dry she still didn't win not surprising given the audience couldn't tell what her costume was even though it was obviously a jellyfish. So do y'all think Tiffany won the contest on her own, or because of Kim's actions because I couldn't tell what her costume was, but according to the wiki she's supposed to be a sea urchin.

If Carmen didn't mention Junior

I had previously done a reddit regarding the way George and Angie reacted to the situation in Girls night out where they learn Marisol took Carmen to a club behind their backs with many of you agreeing their reaction was appropriate, and that regardless of her intentions Marisol did betray their trust and was ungrateful to them from day one which I've come to accept upon to seeing things from their point of view. But just out of curiosity after Angie inspected Carmen to make sure she wasn't drinking, or on drugs Marisol explained her actions were because she wanted to help Carmen toughen up for her new school causing George and Angie to have certain looks on their faces like they didn't know how to respond to that, then when Carmen lets it slip that junior was at the club the parents kick Marisol out and ground Carmen indefinitely. What reaction do y'all they would have had if Carmen didn't mention Junior, or if Marisol hadn't mentioned he has two strikes as based on the parts where George talks to Carmen, and Angie to Marisol they both assumed she and Carmen purposely snook out to confront junior. I also believe that after having some time to cool down they accepted Marisol genuinely wanted to help Carmen which was why they decided to have Marisol stay with Benny at the end instead of on the streets despite everything she's done.

Stephanie hypocritical in the episode Stephanie's wild ride

I know compared to her sisters Stephanie is regarded as the golden child by the fandom due to her personality, the issues she faced, and because most found her middle child syndrome relatable but am I the only one who thinks her some of the stuff she does in the later seasons particularly when she almost went on that joy ride with Gia, and those two guys made her hypocritical to tell Michelle off in the silence is not golden episode. I know "silence is not golden" was in season 6 and Stephanie's wild ride was in season 8, so therefore it happened a while ago, but does anyone else think Stephanie getting mad at DJ for stopping her from going on the joyride made her yelling at Michelle for complaining about Danny when he gave her a reasonable punishment in "Silence is not golden" hypocritical as even though DJ's not their mom she's still the oldest, and if it were Danny who stopped Stephanie from going instead D.J. Stephanie probably would've complained about him ruining her fun just like she did with d.j. I know Stephanie was just worried about Charles and that's what caused her to yell at Michelle but even at the end when everything was resolved she still told Danny he was grateful to have a caring father like him and not a father like Charles'. I know people call Michelle a constant brat but her sisters have also had their fair share of bratty moments. I also felt Stephanie got off way too easy for almost going on a joyride where she could've been hurt like Gia. I mean granted the ending had her and DJ deciding to tell Danny about her almost going on the joy ride but we never find out if she was punished severely for that incident.

Unpopular opinion: D.W. had reason to be snippy towards Francine in D.W.'s very bad mood

I know a lot of people complain that the episode D.W.'s very bad mood is an awful episode mainly because of d.w.'s behaviour which was revealed because she wasn't invited to a birthday party, but I think her attitude towards Francine when she tried to help was understandable as the last time she tried to help Arthur with a problem regarding his sister she and Arthur called her a baby for not liking spinach in d.w. the picky eater and called Kate a big girl for eating it. Despite how much people criticize DW's character I think Arthur could be no better at times especially in the earlier seasons as I believe d.w. could tell Arthur doesn't like having her around, and his attempts to get her to try new food was only because he didn't want to miss the restaurant himself. Be honest how would you feel if someone only wanted to include you if it was convenient to them? Plus I think what Arthur and Francine did caused DW's resentment of Kate in the go to your room episode so DW was probably negative towards Francine because of the picky eater episode, and because she knew Francine and Arthur were only figuring out what was wrong with her for Arthur's sake not hers. Plus DW probably also heard that Arthur was invited to Francine's birthday party and it caused her to get jealous. I always thought her roasting Francine with the "why don't you go back to your own house and stop bothering us" line was extremely funny.

Arthur's feelings towards cousin Cora

Can anyone describe how Arthur might feel about his and d.w.'s cousin Cora. At the beginning of the episode Arthur finishes the narration by saying "with the big day comes cousin Cora" which based on his tone implies Cora's visit is supposed to be a bad thing or to make it clear to the audience Cora is a menace. Although throughout the episode Cora is only shown being antagonistic towards d.w., and Arthur even at one point smiles when Cora is presented with the flower girl crown. The only negative interaction Arthur had with Cora was when she made him nervous as they had to walk down the aisle together causing him to lose the 💍. He also seemed shocked when Jessica agreed with Cora that she didn't have to go into the organ to get the ring back. Although he was shown smiling when aunt Lucy relieved Cora of her flower girl duties I'm not sure if it was because he was happy for d.w. or he thought Cora deserved to be stripped of her title especially since Lucy stopped her from complaining about it. I'm asking because a lot of people even hardcore d.w. haters agree cousin Cora is ten times worse than her so I wonder if Arthur who makes it clear his sister is the bane of his existence feels the same way as I thought it would be kind of nice if one of the things Arthur and DW can bond over is both of them dislike him Cora.

D.w. vs Harry Coleman

I once read a comment that said Harry Coleman from freaky friday is basically like DW but more likable. I sort of understand but kind of disagree because even though Harry revealed at the end he secretly admires his sister Anna and only fights with her for fun(or in other words to get her attention) while d.w. was never given any discernable reason for her behavior towards Arthur I still think some of the things Harry does such as waking Anna up with an air horn, constantly entering her room, fooling with her stuff, reading her diary, and discreetly flicking her in the ear, and lying to their mom she started it were over the line. I agree dw is no angel but I can't recall her ever purposely using violence against Arthur like flicking his ear. Plus people might just find Harry more likable because he has a reason for being a constant pest but I still think that's no excuse as he was so good at playing the brat card you'd never guess he secretly admires his sister especially since Anna in her mom's body seemed surprised when she learns this, and before that she probably thought Harry tortures her just for fun. Plus I think comparing him to d.w. is a bit sexist and is saying boys can get away with that kind of behavior but girls shouldn't. So what do you guys think? If you haven't seen the movie Freaky Friday 2003 you can read about it online.

Lewis' plan in "Something Fishy"

I know Lewis is super smart but am I the only one who thinks his plan to put Kim and Elliot off the girl's scent was incredibly flawed. After Cleo, Emma, and Rikki inform him that Kim stole Cleo's diary, discovered the girl's secret, and showed it to Elliot he proposed the best idea was to get them thinking that the diary was about someone else, and chose Miriam as the decoy when they noticed her. However there were two flaws in that plan first why would Cleo write a diary about Miriam? Also even though the girls used Rikki's power to make it look like Miriam was the one with the powers they failed to convince Kim and Elliot that they themselves weren't mermaids. As a result kim still suspected the girls but thought that Miriam was their "evil leader". As a result Cleo had to convince her little sister that her diary was just in English assignment she was writing.

Nala's reaction when Simba forbade Kiara from anymore hunts

In The Lion King 2 Simba's pride compared to Simba Nala seemed more supportive of Kiara and her longing for Independence which is why when Kiara made Simba promise to let her do the hunt on her own Nala gave him a look to encourage him to do so which he reluctantly agreed to before breaking his promise by sending Timon and pumbaa to watch her. Then when they reunite with Kiara after kovu saves her from the wildfire Kiara is quick to call Simba out for breaking his promise then he retorts that it was a good thing he did pointing out he almost lost her then he forbade her from hunting ever again. I watched nala's expression closely and she appeared to be just as shocked as her daughter by Simba's order so I always wonder why she didn't say anything more during that scene although she probably would've if they weren't interrupted upon learning that kovu saved Kiara's life. I always wondered if Nala was against Simba's hunting restriction, and even talked to him about it. Of course it's possible Simba really didn't mean what he said and only said it out of fear of almost losing Kiara. Also while she had reason to be upset with her father she did make her reckless decision by deciding to hunt away from the pride lands.
