Herefordshire Pomona

The botanical painting here is a draft plate from the Herefordshire Pomona published between 1876-1885; a classic Victorian pomona. This is the original drawing by Edith Bull, the daughter of one of the book's authors, and is currently on display at the Museum of Cider in Hereford. The second picture is from my personal copy of the 2 volumes of collected pates.
Edith E. Bull and Alice B. Ellis created the majority of the original drawings for the plates.
These original drawings were then reproduced as chromolithographs by G. Severeyns in Brussels for the book.
Commissioned by the Woolhope Naturalists Club, it was edited by Henry Bull, and with technical editing by Robert Hogg (who was the pre-eminent pomologist of the day). This work updated Knight's Pomona Herefordiensis and attempted to breathe new life into Herefordshire's ailing cider orchards.

Different species of Papaver genus

Papaver Orientale, Somniferum, Setigerum and Bracteatum - this amazing four is depicted in this drawing. It took about two weeks to draw, considering that I didn't work on this picture every day.

Let us meet -

☀️ Papaver Orientale below the sunny beams (with a heart ♥️)

🌌 Papaver Somniferum in the night bringing dreams to buds

💜 Papaver Setigerum of the vivid imagination

😊 Papaver Bracteatum with the company of the buds

I adore poppies, that's why I decided to draw this picture :D

Sketchbook drawings from my anniversary at the Denver Botanical Gardens (OC)

Each one was only maybe 15 minutes max- all colored pencil. Recently the two of us have started going on 'sketch book dates' where we take little intervals of just doodling fun stuff we see!

Artist based in Passaic County

Humming Suckle- Acrylic on canvas, 24 x 48 inches

Hi everyone! I am an artist based in the passaic county. I recently stumbled across this subreddit a couple of days ago. I wanted to share an original painting with you. I specialize in acrylic painting.

This painting is a landscape that pulls the viewer through a fluid, moving blue forest toward a vibrant yellow hummingbird amid an intricate weave of honeysuckles. Upon closer inspection, a delicate figure emerges from the blooms, offering nectar to the bird. The work serves as an allegory for the human experience: an interplay between nature, quiet vulnerability, and subtle connection.

What feelings come up for you when you see this painting? What does it remind you of? I would love to know yours thoughts!

Zinnias in the park

Always interesting to find a composition without a sky element, so I leaned into the darkness of the woods. Also, how many flowers is too many?? Could maybe have added more but didn’t want to overwork it.

Simple Drawing

I have been trying to think of different things I can add to my penpal letters. One thing I was thinking is a little piece of drawn art of whatever I see. Today I decided on a flower called Sneezeweed. They grow all around my apartment complex.

I would love some other ideas to add to my penpal letters. Im already thinking of bookmarks, pressed leaves and flowers, spells for the witchy folks i write, food recipes, and painted mini landscapes.
