Hello!
Just got a job offered at Mcdonalds ☠️☠️
Do you guys have any tips for succeeding at this job? I've never worked before and I've heard that fast food can be pretty brutal. So any input is greatly appreciated
thanks so much!
My wife is currently looking for job opportunities in the construction field, specifically in:
She has been actively applying for positions but has not had much success securing interview calls, possibly due to a lack of referrals or network connections.
If anyone comes across relevant openings or is able to provide a referral, it would be greatly appreciated. Please feel free to DM me.
Thank you in advance for your support.
Hi All - Anyone have any recommendations for Shed assembly? My dad bought a Shed from Canadian Tire but can’t assemble it. Canadian Tire doesn’t offer assembly and referred us to a third party but he’s asking for almost 2K … TIA!
Tired of applying and hearing nothing back.
Built a tool that does 3 things:
**Roast My Resume** — brutal honest feedback like a senior recruiter would give
**Red Flag Detector** — paste any job posting, it tells you what's sketchy
**ATS Match Score** — how well your resume matches the job description
Also shows real salary data from ESDC Job Bank so you know if the offer is fair.
First 3 analyses are free. No account needed.

Seriously when I see so many posts about people not being able to find work I am absolutely shocked. I'm a 4th year apprentice carpenter I had a decent framing job and got by okay. All I did was update my resume on indeed and since then I've had 6 employers reach out to me begging me to come work for them. I ended up getting a job that bumped my salary from 27$/hr no overtime or benefits, to 45$/hr, 2 hours overtime a day with sick benefits.
Trades is popping off. Go work with your hands.
i literally now applied to over 100+ retail jobs, customer service, etc.. but it either i get ghosted or is far away or my availability doesn't work out because i have classes. I feel so stuck, lool. any tips? or anyone know who is hiring? can't do anything with physical labor because i'm not strong/minor health issues. HELLPP
Hey everyone,
I’m looking to get into the water/wastewater industry in Edmonton and would really appreciate some advice from people already working in the field.
I recently completed the entry-level training certificate, and I’m now trying to figure out the best way to actually break into the industry. A lot of Level 1 certification requirements mention needing around 1 year of plant experience before writing the exam, so I’m wondering how people usually get that initial experience in the first place.
How did you get your first opportunity in a water or wastewater treatment plant? Are there trainee, operator-in-training, lab, or related entry-level positions I should focus on applying for?
I’d also love to connect with anyone working in water treatment or wastewater treatment to learn more about the industry, career paths, day-to-day work, and any tips for someone starting out.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!
I just recently completed a project coordinator course through wcb, I’ve been applying for jobs through Indeed and Linked In, but I never get a call back or even a message. The program did give me a job so I am working, but I’ll get layed off in 6 months due to them not being busy. I’m just wondering if there’s anyone currently looking for a coordinator or know people that are.
Hey all,
Im looking to start some new work when I get back from my trip overseas. Im open to any and all opportunities, even if it means relocating or going to school as a part of it.
I've spent the past 4 years working as a professional chef at some of the best restaurants both here in AB and in BC. Im great at following instructions, keeping high work quality and consistency, and powering through long shifts in shitty work conditions. (All this shit is second-hand to me after the kitchens if im being honest)
Im great at picking up new information and making myself usefull so give me a shout, and let's see if im the right guy for you.
I just accepted a new position today and will be starting on Thursday. Unfortunately due to not working for so long I can't afford waterproof boots I need for the job. If anyone has size 13 waterproof boots that they willing to part with I would greatly appreciate it. I will compensate you when my first cheque arrives with either food, beer, or just money as a token of my appreciation. Thank you for taking the time to read my post and have a great evening.
I recently graduated and I have minimal software experience and most of my experience are projects completed through the course of school. I'm thinking of heading in a Network or eventually cloud direction, what certificates would you recommend to help and Kickstart and I don't mind recommendations of other pathways like Security or Data analysis, I'll appreciate every good advice and a nudge in the right direction
Hi everyone I’m living in Toronto and thinking of relocating to Edmonton if I get a job. I am looking but nothing yet. I realize housing is cheaper and I just want to be able to afford a comfortable life. Any suggestions from anyone that moved recently? How is the job market, winter blues and cost of living in 2026?
Looking for Early Childhood Educator positions. I have 10 plus ys experience. And am taking online courses for Level 2.
I never thought I’d be in this position, but I recently lost both my job and my car, and I’m trying to avoid falling behind on rent.
I’m actively looking for work that I can start immediately. I’m open to almost anything right now and willing to work long hours if needed. I’m based in Edmonton and also open to remote/online work.
If you know anyone hiring or have any leads, please let me know. Even small opportunities would help a lot right now.
Thank you.
Am i Eligible for EI??
Good afternoon everyone,
I am looking for employment, I have years of experience in sales and customer service. I have a bachelors degree in business. I am hard working, motivated, looking for a career where I can grow and stay long term in. I’ve applied to many GOA jobs but haven’t heard back due to large competition I’m assuming.
Please let me know if there is any availability where I can grow and dedicate my time and skills for a long term company.
I'm talking about the guys on the ground in the initial stages setting up the forms etc. I assume they are labourers and not carpenters at that stage?
I had the opportunity to volunteer at the EYOC for a while and I really loved it. There’s multiple roles that they have there. One being playing sports with them. I also just enjoyed playing cards with people and chatting too. I want to know how I can get into a career there? They have youth programming staff which I think is cool. Can anyone give me insight on how it all works?
EDIT: or how to get my foot in the door? As there doesn’t seem to be an email I can “cold call”
Employment in Edmonton is a joke 🤣🤣
