Would anyone else have put something so dirty onto their kitchen counter?!
In the episode when POS husband Ray went golfing while Debra went camping with the kids, she came home filthy and mentioned how she was so sick of the mud, etc. Then she took her filthy, muddy bag and plopped it up on the kitchen counter where the cutting board is. I couldn't believe anyone would have done such a thing. If that bag had to come into the house at all, it should've stayed on the floor. I would have left a bag like that on the garage floor and unpacked it there.
This made no sense.
Everytime I see Marie on Perfect Strangers
Was watching Amazon prime live tv and seem her twice between Barney Miller and tonight on Perfect Strangers. Man, I miss Dorris. She was pleasant on those shows but boy could she make me laugh on Everybody Loves Raymond.
"OHMYGOD!! HE'S IN A CULT!!"
This reaction is beyond priceless.
there's just something about this sub.. I see your posts, I read your comments and I go "I don't get it. "
Ray Robert and and Peter
It always annoys me to rewatch and watch Ray think that he’s above Robert and Peter because he’s married with kids when Deborah is the only thing that rescued him from the same life that Robert and Peter were both living. Which was Living at home well into your 30s with your parents. Even without the promotion at the newspaper, Ray would’ve still been living at home. He was 29 when he met Deborah.
Did Debra make Scott and Walter pitch Kart Attack knowing full well she would say no?
It seems like she already had her mind made up about Go Karts so why did she make them waste their time doing a presentation if she already knew she wouldn’t let Ray invest? I don’t know why this plot point bothers me so much but it does. 🤣 It didn’t seem like a bad business idea at all and he said Walter’s dad owned an amusement park and Scott is an engineer.
unpopular opinion: gerard should’ve appeared more in the series.
his comedic timing is gold i love him
"Or as I'll be known from now on, ....the plain one." 💀
This sent me. It went way harder than it should have. LMAO
Super Bowl EP!
The Super Bowl EP is one that I like to skip. It's the one episode where I can see both sides of the argument, but I lean closer to siding with Ray. Ray is a sports writer, of course this is huge for him. Debra also wanting to have the experience with him was fair, but I do think she once again acted like a brat. And the ripping of the tickets was so annoying. Poor Gianni, he was the true victim of the episode.
Gianni.
Gianni was Ray’s friend throughout the series, but I don’t think he was “Gianni” when he appeared as the cable guy in season one, even though he was in Ray’s life prior to events in season one.
Breaking the suspension of disbelief
I've already written about episodes I like less than others. But I have a different feeling about the first two episodes of season 9. It seems completely unbelievable to me that Marie and Frank would suddenly decide to move into a condo. It would be completely at odds with their characters' personalities. Watching these episodes, I experience what's known as "breaking the suspension of disbelief." I suddenly realize that ELR is just a sitcom with actors in it. I also understand that this was the show's creators' way of dealing with the problem that arose with Peter Boyle's deteriorating health.
Tie from "Christmas Present", Season 5
Hey everybody!
I've always been kind of interested to know the exact necktie they used in this episode. From looking around briefly every so often it seems no one has identified it, or perhaps no one has even asked the question lol.
I think I may have found it! I wanted to run it by ya'll and see what you think.

Robert And Debra
Do you think Robert and Debra would have been a better match?
He's a better listener
He appreciates strong women
They seem to have a similar level of maturity
He loved to go dancing and seemed to be much more fun than Ray.
He was amazing with the kids.
Now, I know it wouldn't have worked in the actual show. But generally, do you think they'd have been better suited?
Patricia Heaton’s father
Not sure if this has come up in this sub before but just found out Patricia’s real life father was a famous sports writer. Is this a coincidence?
What line was the funniest for you?
This show actually had some bangers. One I loved where when Debra was mad at Ray for the Christmas incident and Ray says “Come on it’s Christmas! What about Jesus?!”
When Ray says Peggy is his arch enemy and Robert mocks him. “Oh you have an arch enemy. What are you a superhero now?!”
Robert trying to impress his future in laws. “Church every Sunday! Absolutely God fearing people. We’re scared to death!”
Ray badmouthing the annoying kid. Debra says “He’s eight.” Then Ray says “That’s forty in weasel years!”
Robert getting mad a Ray for not giving him the other ticket. “Just remember your number one Ray. You’re number one!!! But know this: One is the loneliest number that you’ll ever know.”
Ray defending not voting for Debra and instead Bill Parker. “You hate Bill Parker.”
“I hate Bill Parker the man! But Bill Parker the candidate had an interesting platform!”
Robert trying to sound professional. “ it allows me see this family from a rather unique vantage point.”
Ray putting him down “top of the beanstalk?”
