Question about a secne in S3E9

In the scene where Irving is showing the car to the woman and Elliot gets in - Elliot says "you know what to do" and hands him some electrical tape, which Irving then puts on the vents on the upper console or something. What is this? What is he doing? What does the tape do? I'm so confused, please help.

Season 2 is highly underrated. I think the slightly slower pace allows for great character development for everyone in the cast, as well as deepening Elliot's psychology and his dynamic with Mr. Robot. It's an excellent season.

Elliot + Tyrell relationship

I wish we got to see more of their relationship together as it had such an interesting undertone. Especially during the sitcom hallucination; it would be good to explore more comedic notes

Sam Esmail should direct a sitcom or a comedy-drama

I absolutely love Mr. Robot and it's one of my favorite if not the most favorite show. The script, the cinematography, the characters, the attention to details, the music, everything is top level.

But the show itself is too dark. Of course it fits the premise and makes it very realistic but it's hard to rewatch as a "comfort show".

I think Sam would be great at making a show with lower stakes, some sort of story about "regular" people, with drama about relationships, work, friendship, therapy, not saving the world and death. Something like How I Met Your Mother, Modern Family, Ted Lasso etc. With Sam's skills and attention do detail it can be a perfect show, reach wider audiences and portray a beautiful love story of characters that aren't doomed from the start. There are many scenes in Mr. Robot itself that would fit into such a show.

Little drawing I made :]

Tried to add in the key components of the show. I guess I missed drawing an actual computer

My theory about the jacket in Dont delete me.

When Elliot is going to the trash place he supposedly brings a trash bag and his jacket. But as fast as he puts the bag down the man on the place says "next" even dough Elliot still has the jacket on his hand which makes me believe that he might not be holding the jacket at all in that moment. That would explain him getting the jacket back later in the episode or rather him "showing" us when he "picks it up".

Do you guys think I'm 1_7crazy.asf or this make sense.

What do you guys think about the critique of capitalism in Mr. Robot?

Honestly, I think it's a bit weak. Hold on, don't attack me just yet. What I mean is, it mostly comes up during Elliot's monologues, but it's never truly dramatized. But I could be wrong, because I don't think a show that is so careful with Elliot's psyche would fail at that.

I finished watching Industry last week and somehow this show popped up on my radar. Finished season 1 in one sitting. Now onto to season 2, and after every episode(unlike s1) i need to take a beat.

I went in the dark, didnt read anything about this show nor did i look at this sub when i watched s1. I loved it.

I also love s2, but after every episode(ive watched 3 so far) i need to get up, take a walk, look at the sky, breathe fresh air, or watch smtg funny. S1 was easier to digest, s2 is a constant of: can I trust what i am seeing, am i going paranoid like elliot, what the hell is going on, is this what paranoia looks like....

Wow wow wow. What a show.

Yes, I am very late to the party i know, this show was released 10 years ago, but honestly, it aged super well.

Just wanted to get this off my chest. Dont give me spoilers pls.

Thanks.

Never watched Mr Robot or Even don't know anything about it (but I get this). Who is he?

Is he good or bad or a villain or a hero? Who is he?

Finished eps 1. My thoughts

I like the premise of the show, infiltrating the higher ups and stuff, but does anyone else feel like the dialogue and acting is robotic? (No pun intended) like it feels like im watching a video game cutscene. Also the color grading is pretty bland.

I also dont like how it tries too hard to be cool and edgy with the “fuck society” stuff.

Im too early in to judge but those are just my nitpicks for the first eps

A small detail that I loved about the ending of Mr. Robot. (Elliot and Whiterose's ending)

So I just finished S4, and one detail I really liked was how in Elliot’s dream world, Whiterose/Zhang was a charitable founder and a woman who no longer had to hide her true self from the world. I think it showed how Elliot connected to her in her final moments and subconsciously imagined her as a good person in a better world. It almost felt like a thank you from Elliot to her (because, well, in a way, she saved him by giving him the choice and protecting the room he was in) and in return, Elliot actually did believe that in a different world she would finally be a good person and not a monster again. A small detail, but really loved this. 🥹😊

Why is the Dark Army so nerfed in Season 4?

Hello guys. I’m currently watching Mr. Robot and just finished S4 EP9, so I haven’t seen the rest of S4 yet. But there’s one complaint I have that I honestly don’t think the remaining episodes are going to change:

Why do the Dark Army and Whiterose feel so nerfed ever since the S3 finale?

Maybe it’s better to start with S3’s final episode itself. As much as I loved it, I think the twist with Leon shooting the Dark Army soldiers instead of Darlene and Grant being ordered to kill himself was unnecessary. It was the first time Whiterose made a really questionable decision.

Couldn’t she have just told Grant directly to kill himself instead of having Leon kill multiple soldiers for literally no reason? Dark Army members usually kill themselves when they’re defeated. Here no one was defeated. It just happened for pure shock value. At first, I thought it was still worth it, because the Leon scene was genuinely one of my favorite scenes in the entire show. But after S4’s handling of Whiterose and the Dark Army, I don’t think this treatment is even worth it anymore.

Whiterose was established as an insanely smart character, and the Dark Army as the most powerful group in the series. They became so smart and powerful that it feels like Sam Esmail had no choice but to make them act stupid in order for Elliot to beat them.

Why have Grant kill himself just to replace him with a new right-hand woman who basically thinks the exact same way? And more importantly, why would Whiterose still give Elliot so much freedom after everything?

Elliot went from begging for his and Darlene’s lives to basically hitting Whiterose with a “call an ambulance, but not for me.” lmao. As much as I enjoyed seeing Elliot finally beat her, it didn’t feel fully earned to me because Whiterose practically LET him defeat her.

Even if she didn’t want to kill Elliot because of whatever obsession or admiration she feels toward him, she still should’ve had him watched 24/7 by as many Dark Army members as possible (not just some random van outside his apartment). Like, Dark Army members should’ve even lived with him in his house and be near him all the time. She could’ve easily forced Elliot into such a constant surveillance and he would’ve had no choice but to agree. She should’ve done that because it was necessary. This is the same guy whose childhood friend and multiple fsociety partners were murdered by you. Why would you ever assume he wouldn’t try to destroy you?

It honestly felt like the Whiterose in S4 EP9 was a completely different character from the Whiterose we saw in S1 EP8 (her meeting with Elliot) or S2 EP11 with Angela. Back then she felt terrifyingly intelligent. In S4 she suddenly keeps making mistake after mistake.

I really would’ve preferred Elliot defeating Whiterose in a fair battle of intelligence instead of the show nerfing her IQ to make it possible.
