New goggles

The last ones worked great but we kept going through them (scratches). Got some new ones recently. Day 1, he scratched them before even leaving the house.

Second Newf

We have been given the opportunity to take in a 5 month old rescue that was returned to our breeder. Our Kirby is currently 13 months old. Loves other dogs and has a great temperament. What are the drawbacks of a second Newf? One being a young rescue.

Therapy Service

Does anyone volunteer their Newf for therapy services?

My girl is almost 3 and calming down nicely now,
I would say 23 hours out of the day in full couch potato mode. She sleeps more than I thought possible outside of wild animals that hibernate.

She loves loves loves people, and is at her happiest with an orderly queue waiting to meet and greet.

She’s especially fond of people with additional needs - kids with obvious challenges,
elderly folk, partially sighted… wheelchairs are a particular favourite.

I’m considering seeing if I can get her a regular gig as a volunteer pat / recovery dog at our local hospital.

Has anyone done this? I’m in the uk and looking for tips or experiences.

My main concern is her size and her enthusiasm. I know our local hospital has a pat dog - a chihuahua so a lot lot smaller. She does have an initial burst excitement with her first interaction - with some risk of jumping (working in that). Once she gets that out of her system (normally less than 30 seconds and only with the first person to say hi) she’s very calm. I’m hoping a few more months of maturity will help with this.

Tips for New Owner

Hey guys, Today I got my 3 month old Newfie and I LOVE HIM, I’ve always been around dogs but I’ve never had my own and I feel super excited to finally have one and him being the dog I’ve always wanted just makes me even happier.

I’m just looking for any advice on how to be with them, what’s the best treats for them, the best food, how times to feed them since they are a big dog and how often should I take them to groom/ shower 🚿 all those types of things. I’ve watch tons of videos about them but still any extra tips would really Help a lot. Thank you for your time and keep on loving these cuties!!!

Edit: Thank you guys so much for all the tips and tricks, sorry if I didn’t reply to all just been busy with the little fella, but I really appreciate all of them thank you once again yall!!❤️

Puppy walk form

Hello all! This is our 8 month old teddie, and we've always thought he walked sort of weird. I was just curious if theirs an issue with his walking, or if we are over thinking it. Thank you!

Haunted by the thought of how good those pancakes would have been

If only they had been shared more generously.

Menace on 4 paws

I recently got this baby and he's already my whole world. He's 75% Newf and 25% Pyrenees. He sleeps most of the day which is awesome because i can work during those times, but when he's awake GOD DAMN he's mouthy and excited. I know its normal for puppies, but sometimes he does get overly excited and starts biting everything and peeing every 20 minutes because he's running everywhere.

Was yours like this too? How did you manage and did it ever slow down a little bit ?

We go on sniff walks in the forest behind our house, play with his favorite toys, enforced naps when he's crazy from tiredness, time out when he bites too hard. He always comes back even CRAZIER

Love him to death tho

Betty did not want the belly rubs to stop today, so I got lots of silly faces whilst she kept nudging me to continue the belly rubs.
