Hi guys, do you think an object like this could be printed with good results? For how much?
Backstory:
I was brainstorming for weird objects to use as narrative device in a short film and... came up with a dragon youknowwhat.
The image you see is just a two line prompt with NanoBanana, because I couldn't find any product online that satisfied the "chinese carnival" aestethic I'd like to go for. Not the final design, it is just to get the idea out there and give it a shape.
I don't need it to actually work, just to look like it might be a real tool and to have enough empty space inside to store a little steam (once I have it i'll figure out how to make the puffs happen).
Would love to know if it's doable and, if so, a price range (for both print and paint) would be awesome. Thanks!
Just curious
You know in real life when someone wears really thick glasses, you can see the deformation on the edge?
And you know when you have 20/20 vision and wear someone else's glasses, you feel dizzy/nauseous?
Has there been a situation where the actor has 20/20 vision, but they NEED to wear thick glasses because the character they're playing has poor eyesight? Does the actor just endure the dizzyness? or is there a prop fake glasses thing?
EDIT: holy shit reverse contacts are a thing? I learned something new today 😄 Thank you to everone that replied!
I’m currently props designing for a play about hockey any recommendations on how to make the sticks?
edit:
forgot to add it’s set in the 1930s! So they need to be wooden
In the movie Solo: A Star Wars Story, the character, Chussido, a pirate with the Cloud-Riders, has a datapad or comm-pad on the right forearm.
Does anyone have an idea what “real world object” this could be?
And yes, it could be a prop they created just for the movie, but it seems so familiar to me and I cannot place it.
I tried using an AI picture search, but didn’t have any luck.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Hi everyone! Doing some research for a show I'm SM on and would appreciate opinions. At the end of the show a roast chicken is 'cooked' (a fake raw one is placed in an 'oven', and a few minutes later a fake cooked one is pulled out. Oven is in a kitchen counter facing upstage so not super visible til the chicken comes out).
Our director would love the chicken to be 'steaming' when it comes out the oven. Sadly our hazer is in use elsewhere so we can't use that (although if all else fails we'll look into hiring another, but trying to save some money). Considered boiling water in the tray surrounding the chicken, but it looks like the cooked chicken will need to be in the oven for most if not all of the show preceding this, so realistically it wouldn't work.
If anyone has any ideas for this it'd be much appreciated! Not sure if there's something obvious I'm overlooking.
Im just about to finish my degree in Fine Arts after originally planning to do a degree in prop making and special effects which unfortunately fell through, but I have no idea how to even begin getting into prop making professionally. Once i have my degree I plan on tinkering with my own prop making projects in my free time to make up a portfolio of sorts but other than i feel really stuck. I live in the North of the UK where we do have a pretty strong creative industry but my FA course taught us nothing about getting a creative job or marketing ourselves and I just really want to work in a prop house its been my dream job for years. If anyone has any advice, suggestions, knows any companies up north or has experience anything would help me out !!!
I need to find a prop drill that moves/ spins like a normal drill but won’t explode your hand if you touch it while it’s spinning. I’ll also take any recommendations for prop/ soft drill bits that fit onto an actual drill.
Appreciate any recommendations I can order online or get in person in London, UK
How do I put a fake screen in here? I'm thinking plexiglass, Foil-print, white diffursor and a LED strip around the perimeter?
Anybody fakes something like this before? Tips, Tricks, Pitfalls?
While there is technically enough space for a RaspberryPi and an actual screen, the combo I have doesn't fit right side up. Wrong way around the ports are covered... Frustrating mess. Also not willing to drop a lot of money on a thing I will use for 1-2 Photoshoots
Edit: I am reasonably certain I badgered this gentleman for the fiels, back in the day...
