Sympathy Gift?

I am visiting my dear sister in law next week. She is 65, just retired, and had just started thinking about plans to do with her hubby…. and then he suddenly died of a heart attack.

She is an awesome quilter, she even had one of her quilts published in a magazine! Sometimes I think people don’t appreciate macrame as a beautiful art. They think ‘hippy’, 60’s; outdated …. but all that and more is what I love about macrame! I know my sister in law would appreciate the beauty of the craft and treasure a special piece created especially for her in memory of her husband.

Any ideas on what I can create? I am experienced, but I still will need instructions. Any thoughts on this are SO appreciated! 🥹

Thank you!

Bloody Stump?

So I was asked to make a bloody stump of a hand prop for a play that’s coming up. I am thinking something simple like using a tube sock for starters, and make it look like it’s a stump… Any advice on how to make this look … good? I imagine I need to put something gory on the end of that sock? Thanks!

I just switched to Betterbird from Thunderbird and and EXTREMELY SATISFIED!! Everything seemed to come in great since I have an IMAP with Google account. But I noticed my Thunderbird Message filters did not transfer over, understandably. I am not sure if I want to import those filters since I had Thunderbird for probably 15 years, and there are a TON of filters. I see in Thunderbird there are also numerous profiles, each having their own message filters. If I decided to copy the message filter data over to BetterBird, should I combine all my data from 3 different profiles into one data file? And I am assuming I would just put my 'msgFilterRules.dat' file into my new Betterbird profile, correct?

Hi! I am looking for a good heavy duty, sewing machine that doesn’t break the bank. I work with upholstery fabric, waxed canvas, denim, and other heavy fabrics. I also do props for a local theater group - so weird things come occasionally. Also, I love to make bags and purses. Any suggestions on a good machine? Thanks!

I just wanted to let everyone know that the suggested solution to my saggy seat was successful! (LOL, that’s a tongue twister!)

A few weeks ago I posted a question about how to tighten up this chair I macraméd. After being used a lot by a ‘hefty’ person, the seat started sagging terribly. One of the suggestions was to put the macramé… which was a polyester blend cord… Into boiling water and that should help shrink it. I tested it and it shrunk by 1 inch per cord. Just wanted to thank you all and show you the difference (see posted pics).
