Struggling

Hey guys! I’m (30M) 1 week post op. I’m really having a hard time with the 2 week waiting period for sex. I had a vas to vas on the left side, vas to epi on the right. Last night I was fooling around with my wife (32F) and she performed oral for like a minute and we decided to stop, it happened again this morning. We are having a terrible time keeping our hands off each other and I’m really struggling with the wait. I know it’s serious business. Does anyone have any advice for getting through the 2 or even 3 week waiting period? I’m going stir crazy and trying my best to practice self control but I feel like a teenager again. I have not ejaculated yet but had a little bit of pre cum. Thanks in advance

It's been five year after the vasectomy reversal and still no luck.

Our story is kinda depressing, his dad forced him to get a vasectomy as a teenager after he got a girl pregnant. Ten years later he gets a reversal. Not because I pushed him but he wanted to have kids. I guess I just want to vent. We tried IVF and it failed. I don't know what we should do next. I'm getting older and he doesn't want me to get a sperm donor or adopt. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Success after reversal??

Hi everyone,
My husband got his vasectomy reversed in May after deciding we do want more kids (we already have 3 from earlier in our marriage). The surgeon said he found an “outrageous amount of sperm” when he did the reversal and he seemed really hopeful for us. We just tried our first cycle and did not get pregnant. I know that’s pretty typical, but I just wanted to get some success stories on couples who did get pregnant after reversal and how long it took for you guys. Thanks!!

Dr. Nicholaus Haws

I'm contemplating getting a reversal. I'm 4 years out from my vasectomy and thinking about having another kid. Looking at the clinic in Orem, it seems they're pretty much booked up except for this one newer doctor. Does anyone have any experience with him? It's also $1000 off the normal cost which is enticing but also a bit concerning

Stitches dissolved but wound still not 100% healed

Hi yall, I’m a week post op and the stitches on one side of my scrotum dissolved but the wound still doesn’t look super healed. Like the flesh still looks raw. No infection or pain/swelling. Noticed some dried discharge on my underwear but no blood.

Anyone else have a similar situation? If so, how did you handle it?

Surgery is scheduled, just hoping Tricare will cover it(PVPS)— looking for aftercare first 72 hours advice!

I (26F) have been helping my husband (26M) through his journey to try to be out of pain. While he was with his ex wife, she got him to get snipped because she didn’t want children. At all. Which he regretted every day as it left him in pain that made daily functioning difficult. He’s in the military, and he pushes through the pain.

Here’s the journey so far: he got snipped late 2020/early 2021, and lived with this discomfort and pain. His provider on base shrugged it off. 2024 when we got married I noticed he’d cringe during sex, he’d have testicular tenderness, and bilateral swelling often. I started documenting EVERYTHING-
Date
Time of pain onset
Actions prior to pain
Pain type
Pain level
Medical interventions (I’m an EMT so it basically was like charting for pt handoff)

Well, his provider finally realized something was wrong. So they did a urinalysis, found proteins that could have been a UTI, we got a referral to urology for them to treat it.
Urology gave him antibiotics as well as me so we didn’t pass anything back and forth. We saw little to no improvement. They tried to give him an RX that he wouldn’t be able to safely do his job, so they documented that wasn’t a safe option and instead prescribed him a fast release pain killer. It would help right away, but didn’t solve the pain issue. They put in for a scrotal ultrasound to ensure no malformations or testicular torsion.

From there they sent us to another hospital system’s urology clinic. Where they looked at him and said “yep this is more than likely PVPS, here are treatment options.” When we voiced the idea of a reversal to see if that relieves the pressure pain during sex may be the best treatment. Then to another referral…

University of Minnesota(MHealth Fairview) we start seeing Doctor Logan Hubbard. He looked at everything we’ve done, the antibiotics, the pain medications, and has my husband explain the pain he feels, where his daily pain is at then asks me what I notice. Mind you I’m in scrubs the first time we meet, and it became a dead give away I do medical. So I explain everything, showed the journaled pain episodes when it’s at its worst. We bantered using the medical terminology that made my husband look like we were speaking another language, and I mention that he cringes at climax during sex.

Doctor Hubbard stops the conversation in its tracks and immediately says he will go through with a reversal given the PVPS diagnosis and the pressure pain, but he wanted my husband to also do pelvic floor physical therapy to help recovery. Starting it early can help relieve some of the general discomfort from surgery. Which luckily has helped!

As mentioned, surgery is scheduled for this august. We started this journey two years ago, and we’re just waiting on Tricare to authorize the surgery, which with all the documentation should be approved with no issues. (We hope)

Anyways with the surgery, we have a DRIVE ahead of us, like 20ish hours since flying isn’t an option for safety reasons unless they approve us multiple days in city of surgery. I want to make sure I am prepared for my husband anything that helped the first 72 hours for that drive home after surgery, anything I should get/be prepared for?

Anyone have sperm parts, then no sperm parts, only to have sperm parts show up again? (Utah Mail tests)

Wondering if this is normal or a bad sign of scarring.

We had 1.2 million out of 13.8 sperm parts at 2 weeks. Second sample at 5 months had 0 sperm parts and 67.5 million overall. Most recent sample at 9 months had .8 million sperm parts out of 38.8 million total.

This happen to anyone else? Or anyone always get results with sperm parts each sample and continue to have a successful reversal?

Really trying not to worry- but I’m honestly worrying about the long term success of the reversal. I’m hoping maybe the .8 sperm parts was a fluke or variation in whoever analyzes the samples judgment. Idk.

He’s taking all the best sperm supplements and has alternated on tumeric, serrapeptase, nattokinase and NAC since about 3 weeks after the reversal. He also followed their prednisone protocol but ended it 2 weekly doses early. Took it easy the 8 weeks.

Can someone talk me off the ledge? Would you be worried about sperm parts returning?
