Completely unnecessary… but kinda awesome.
I was bored of the PSU cage so I threw a WOWNOVA 5” at it. Fun project - entirely unnecessary but tinkering is most of the appeal with PCs.

I know from Voltage and wattage standpoint I'm good. Asking because of the whole 12v cable compatibility sitaution
This is the power supply, rock solid but a little older https://www.newegg.com/evga-atx12v-eps12v-850-w-80-plus-gold-certified-power-supply-210-gq-0850-rx/p/N82E16817438114
Bought this cable https://www.amazon.com/CableMod-Pro-ModFlex-E-Series/dp/B0DSHR8K7N
Am I good?
Needed to get a replacement 12V2x6 power cable to power my new PNY 5070ti OC to be compatible with my Corsair SF750 gen 1 (older model).
Used the compatibility list on the Cablemod website to find the correct cable, but want to buy from Amazon for speed and because I have an Amazon gift card.
Amazon shows: CM-PCSR-16P3-RAN60KW-5PW-R-SS
Cablemod Website shows: CM-PCSR-16P3-RA60KW-5PW-R-SS
Are these the same cables or different? What does the extra N in the product SKU mean?
Additionally, is there a difference between 2x8pin or 3x8pin? ChatGPT said to get 2x8pin - but I know Ai is definitely not infallible and can be wrong, especially because I know that the GPU came with a 3x8 adapter cable.
I am getting a new gpu and it will require an extra pcie cable.
A year ago I got a new psu and my dumb ass when storing the extra cables that I didn’t need had put all of them in the same box and none wore labeled
So now I come here for your advice
The old psu is a corsair cx650m
And the new one is a Corsair rm1000e
Is it ok if I grab the wrong cable or will I explode
Also the new gpu is an GIGABYTE RTX 5070 Ti GAMING OC 16GB GDDR7
Hey, I wanted to get a custom kit for my PC, but it seems that it already stops at the much-needed 90-degree cable for my Asus TUF 1000W PSU. I want to mount the TUF 5080 OC GPU horizontally, and I hate cables in front of the fans—I just don't like the look of it.
So uhm, am I basically stupid, or do you guys just not make the native cable?
My TV PC is finally rebuilt and done! Sometimes its nice to just lay on your couch with a controller and play on a TV. Nothing against my desk setup, its just nice to be on the TV.

Hello! Today I just swapped my 5080 for a 5070 ti so it’s smaller and the port for the gpu cable it’s different from my 5080, I have the type b 90 degree universal stealthsense 12v2x6 cable so for this gpu (asus prime) I had to flip the cable so with my first gpu the cable it’s above and now it’s under this gpu, this could be a problem or it’s okay? (First picture it’s from today and second it’s from the last year when I had the 5080) thanks for the help
Hello, I ‘ve bought compatible CableMod RT-Series Pro ModMesh cables for my Thor 1200P3, It came with this two:
1 x 16-pin to 16-pin PCI-e cable (60cm)
1 x 16-pin to 3 x 8-pin PCI-e cable (60cm)
I tested both on Astral RTX 5090 and I’ve found the 16 pin to 3x8 pin PCIe cable is more stable than other (delta 0.3A vs 1.5A) I’ve ordered Aquacomputer Ampinel, is it fine to use that stable cable on it?
Hey there,
So I'm currently replacing my old Gigabyte GeForce EAGLE RTX 3070 OC for an AORUS MASTER ICE 5080 and I wonder which is the best 12VHPWR 12V-2x6(12+4 Pins on each end) WHITE (This is important since I'm building an all-white build and I would like to get the cables also on white to keep the aesthetic) cable that I can buy out there which is 100% compatible with my Deepcool PX1200G ATX3.0 1200W 80 Plus Gold Psu (PSU's manual link: https://www.deepcool.com/download/pdf/PX\_G\_V2.pdf) and that also fits well the connector's torsion 4-4.5 cm spare space needed inside my Fractal's Design Meshify 2 RGB White psu shroud (Fractal's manual link: https://www.fractal-design.com/app/uploads/2023/08/Meshify-2-Manual-V.4-2023-08-21.pdf).
I just want to make sure about the compatibility of the cable with my PSU since my model is not currently listed in the CableMod's Support PSU Compatibility List. I'm also looking for a well-build sleeved-type cable.
Cable mod Cable stats VS the stock cables. Both run on the Steel Nomad benchmark.
So I got my custom cable today and noticed that under load it spikes to 9.2A with as much as 2A difference in pin load across the pins. This doesn't seem stable. I have an Astral 5090 and a Straight Power 11 1200W Platinum.
I also tried the Cable Mod Basics version of the same cable and got the same results which makes me think it's not a faulty cable. Am I missing something here? Cables were definitely fully seated in both the PSU and GPU.
Using the stock adapter and PSU cables i don't have this issue so I don't think it's a GPU or PSU issue. Why might this be happening?
Hey everyone, if you're using cablemod for your custom cables, despite the fact that their website explicitly states they use Aus post for Australian deliveries, they actually use FedEx. If you're planning on getting custom cables from cablemod, don't use a parcel locker or you'll be waiting a hell of a lot longer for your cables and they don't use Aus post like their website says.
Hi. I'm going to need a 90 degree 8 pin cable for this connector at the bottom of my motherboard (MSI x870e Gaming Plus) because of limited space (Arctic 140mm pros are beefy) and stiff stock cables from my PSU, but I'm unsure which type of cable I would need. I did read "It uses a standard PCIe 6+2 pin cable, not a CPU cable", so would that mean your GPU cable? I have a Montech Century II 1050w PSU, so I know your cables are compatible - now I just need to find the correct one. Thanks!
Here is an article explaining a bit about the purpose of the extra connector, if needed.
Hi guys,
I am looking at vertically mounting a MSI 5080 16gb expert OC gpu with CableMod ModFlex 12V-2x6 90 Deg PCIe Cable for ASUS Variant A/B but I am unsure which would be required.
I'm looking to run the cable towards the back plate rather than the fan side of the GPU in a vertical mounted position which variant would more appropriate for this orientation?
Thank you! :)
