I have a huge problem. I have an issue eating candy and I try to stop buying it but my obsession sometimes gets the best of me. I try not to and instead eat something else but the need for candy gets the better for me. I need advice on what else to eat besides candy, preferably healthier options or more better options other than candy. Any help?
I always get confused at Indian railways station shops about choosing items. They literally don't provide any healthy items other than Bakery items and cool drinks even it's difficult to get fruits
I'm 16, a girl, and I have relatively good eating! I eat breakfast, which is usually two eggs and toast, and a balanced lunch with veggies and carbs and that. My dinners are nutritious and healthy, usually meats. I have a few snacks throughout the day, but I'm most concerned with my daily hot chocolate.
I use about three tablespoons in one cup and drink it in the morning. Its nice and warm which is good for the winter were going through right now. Will I get health complications from this?
I didn't have a dramatic rock bottom moment. But it was a photo... :D a photo that my sister sent me from her birthday dinner and I genuinely didn't recognize myself. Yep, i'd put on close to 30 lbs over a couple of stressful years and just stopped looking too closely in mirrors. Desk job, two kids, zero time, and every diet I'd tried felt like a second job I was bound to quit.. some of you know it can be sooo true..
I found Blood Diet half by accident and the personalized angle is what made me actually start. You do a short questionnaire and it builds the plan around your blood group, which, I'll be honest, I rolled my eyes at a little :) But the meals were normal food, nothing over the normal food line, the workouts are short and low-impact enougt, so I could do them after the kids were down asleep without dreading it.
Glad there were trackers, because they are the sneaky part. Ticking off water and steps every day turned into this small streak I didn't want to break, because it made me feel proud and actually feel better. Some weeks the scale didn't move and I almost gave up twice!
I'm about 10 weeks in, I'm down a little over 15 lbs. Not a transformation photo miracle (YET), but my jeans just fit, my back hurts less, and I have energy the end of the day again. The honest win isn't the number though. It's that for the first time I didn't quit by week two. Anyway, that's my story - happy to answer if anyone's on the fence.
I'm 30 M from Canada and on a limited budget. This only gives me roughly 100 to 150$ per week for groceries and nesseceties. I want to lose weight but I don't have access to more income.
Currently I am what i call the "College dorm diet". Ramen packs/cups. Hotdogs. Grilled cheese. Frozen things that are cheap. Just stuff that I can get cheaply in bulk that will last me awhile. But I know these arent healthy.
When I have tried branching out to healthier options. Like making soups, stews, chicken and beef, etc. I find the food doesn't last nearly as long. It's healthier, but I dont get as much and I end up running short or missing meals in order to space my portions out more.
I am also very picky with my coffee. As some brands upset me. And it's sometimes easier for me to get energy drinks since I can get them in bulk amounts at work on sale with my employee discount. (They don't upset me at all. They go down smooth)
For activity I walk nearly 4.9KM, one way. Almost 4 days a week as long as the weather allows it. Meaning if the weather is really nice I can get upwards of 9.8 km in a day, atleast 4 days a week. Thats not including the physical labor of work itself. Outside of the walking though I dont get out much as I can't afford to go to the gym.
Any suggestions welcome. I just wanna get out of this depression rut and get my life back in order.
Hello all, I'm looking for some suggestions on healthier options for water flavor packets. I drink plenty of plain water, but sometimes I just need something more! I don't like too much flavor, so would love suggestions where I can choose how much flavor to add.
So actually I was wondering...I have started dieting few months back and always considered makhanas as a good healthy snack option but do you think that the now flavored makhanas in the market can be made a part of ahealthy lifestyle?
I haven’t drank soda in almost a month and a half after consuming multiple mini cans a day for well over a year.
I’ve drank soda consistently for most of my life, starting at about 10/11. I drank it with meals because for some reason I find it very difficult to enjoy water while eating (I really wish I knew why because I like water outside of mealtimes).
I’ve given up soda in the past during lent, and drank sparkling water instead. I had oral surgery in May and wasn’t able to drink carbonated drinks for two weeks, and my solution was to drink juice instead of soda with meals.
I know juice isn’t the healthiest option and ideally I would be drinking water but I just can’t get myself to do it without feeling nauseous.
I’ve heard that fruit juice is just as bad for you as soda, not sure if that’s totally true. I’ve lost almost 10lbs since I made the switch (weight loss wasn’t my goal but it was a welcome side effect as I am a bit overweight). I drink 100% apple, white grape, and vitamin d+calcium fortified orange juice; never any cocktails or anything with added sugar.
I guess now I’m wondering if anyone else has similar experiences or suggestions on how I should move forward with this journey. I’d love to be healthier so any advice is welcome!
TLDR; I gave up soda for fruit juice because I struggle to drink water with meals.
I have really bad health anxiety, my diet overall is pretty shit especially since I only recently stopped being homeless and got an apartment, I have ebt but I never really know what food to get, I'll list off everything I usually eat though
I usually skip breakfast all together and I'll have a pizza for lunch bcs it's filling, I make sure to drink lots of water, I'll also eat some apples, yogurt, and granola bars, and sometimes some nuts, if I'm really struggling I'll have to eat cup noodle ramen and eat some apples with it, sometimes I'll cook eggs too, and sometimes I'll eat multiples of the items listed, I'm really scared of dying young, I also smoke alot but sm trying to cut that down, I used to be an alcoholic but quit, is there a better diet I could have? Im just rlly paranoid and idk exactly what to eat
Millets are constantly promoted as healthier alternatives to wheat and rice, but most households still don’t use them regularly.
In your opinion, what is stopping millet adoption?
Taste? Lack of awareness? Cooking difficulty? Price?
