r/killingfloor

I’m new to the killing floor franchise. Both of these games kind of feel semi dead but just one is more debt than the other. Why?

Like I just started playing and because Killing floor 3was on sale and I can’t really find any matches or other players. Like the queue times are so long because I can’t find anyone. Killing floor 2 is a little bit better I wait for about 15/20 minutes and at least get one other person to play with me after starting by myself. And sometimes I get lucky and we fill out a whole squad but. But a lot of times it’s just me and one other person. I play both on PC so they and I noticed there is only significant player count difference between the two games. But still doesn’t seem like that that many people or relatively speaking our playing. Is it because those other zombie games? If so, can you recommend any? Are you guys all playing like Cod zombies? What’s happening?

KF2 Easter Egg I never noticed

(Sorry if this has been posted before)

I was taking advantage of the current double XP event and doing Boss Rush runs. Upon killing the Matriarch in one wave I noticed this number, so I quickly screenshotted it. Turns out this number on the Matriarch's armour is the Steam ID number for Killing Floor 2, pretty cool!

Does anyone have a clue why Nakata doesn't have the mask from the official art in the actual game?

I think the design looks rather odd with the default ski mask, as if it lacks something

Which of these Zeds do you hope they bring back

Also what are some new ideas of Zeds do you have?

Example ideas I got

Lurker: Imagine a stalker but freakier, crawls on all fours and has Sickles for fingers.

Gladiator: practically an armored Gorefast with a club for one arm and a shield for the other.

Vulture: a freaky ass bird hybrid zed that can fly.

Tanker: a zed similar to the flesh pound except with more and has a rocket launcher on its shoulder, HIGHLY explosive.

Popper: zeds that run up to you and explodes, unless u want the homicidal turds back.

Tall boy: scary, very fast and of course tall Zed, practically a clot that would be able to play major league Basketball.

And many more

KF3 Cometics

This game is missing a huge opportunity for cash through constraining to one silhouette for all of the characters. I just bought deluxe pass and imagine my surprise when its only recolors inclu shop skins. Imran and Devlin could be casted on love island tomorrow but they have minecraft steve shape outfits

Why did KF2's patches run out less than a year after The Last Stand update?

How much longer will we have to wait for the game's size to be reduced? Helldivers 2 accomplished this, Starbreeze is preparing a similar update for Payday2 along with an engine update to Diesel 3.0, and many others are mastering game size reduction and making engine improvements. Will something similar be implemented for Killing Floor 2? It's clear that KF3 isn't yet producing the desired results in development. Why don't the guys at TWI follow SE's lead and release a couple more patches for KF2 to fix most of the remaining bugs and possibly roll back some of the perk changes?

The last minor hotfix was made in May 2024

Is KF3 dead?

I see people in this subreddit say that the game isn’t dead. I can rarely find people playing the game. I have cross play on, and usually play HoE but can’t find people. Are you able to find players?

Killing Floor games vs Darktide's Mortis Trails. Why one is seen as entertaining and the other is seen as boring?

As a Darktide player, I have been wondering about this for a very long time now. From my experience, Killing Floor is a game where you have a map, and you hold out, killing incoming hordes of enemies. Mortis Trials is also about that, but with smaller maps, shorter waves, and the addition of rogue-like elements.

But the thing is, I have only seen Mortis Trials be bashed as boring, and that this gamemode does not hold people's attention. I didn't see this about Killing Floor games. I myself have played Killing Floor 2, and it felt just like Mortis Trials but without the movement and combat mechanics of Darktide and the rogue-like stuff. I got bored with Killing Floor 2's gameplay as, once again, it just felt like Mortis Trials but worse, and yet this game has an entire devoted playerbase.

So what is it? What am I missing that Mortis Trials lacks and Killing Floor has? Could any Killing Floor fan who is familiar with the Mortis Trials inform me what makes one entertaining and the other not? I'm really curious.

Ready for KF3 Season 4

I'm definitely gonna have fun experimenting on the new weapons. Hopefully I can do something with all this extra Grey Matter and Zed Tech.

Explosive shells

To make the most out of the explosive shells for the Bonebreaker, will I need to be using the Scatter Plot skill or the Full Blast skill?

Is KF3 worth playing now?

I played the game when it first launched, and it was.. well you know. But I've been kind of watching it from afar and saw it got updates but never really watched gameplay. Is it any good now? or should i keep playing KF2?

Is KF2 still active in Xbox consoles?

I been looking at getting back into the game since I been wanting to play a zombie game. Mainly because I don’t want to get AI slop 7.

I know the game has no crossplay so I do know the playerbase will be smaller than probably KF3 has.

Weekend frustration

Tried playing KF3 over the weekend and matchmaking was not working. Also ninja ultimate still bugs after first use causing you(me) to waste a grenade and heal-nade every additional attempt to use. Ended up quitting game after 3rd solo multiplayer and played 33 immortals instead. Ultimate issue has been a problem for over 6 months now...

TripWire fumbled

With the launch of the Steam summer sale yesterday TripWire should have released S4 to revive the player base. It would bring back the original fan base, hopefully improving their reviews. Allowing the game to gain more positive publicity and hopefully bringing in more new players as well. What do you guys think?

So what would’ve KF3 been like if they continued with their initial ideas with operators?

First of all Killing floor has 7 perks in KF1 while KF2 has 9. So far we have 6 perks in KF3 and it has me curious where were they going with the direction for the game?

Like were we gonna get 2 variants of each class? Like those skills for perks in KF2 which has 2 sides. for example commando 1 would use assault rifles and Commando 2 would use LMGs? Or Medic 1 would be good for healing the whole team but less combat efficient while Medic 2 would be more combat efficient but heals 1 person? Ninja uses light melee weapons while Berserker uses heavy hitters?

Or would we be getting just the the same perks from KF2 (total 9) then add newer ones like Ninja and Engineer?

Its really peaked my curiosity as to how the game would go from there. Dont get me wrong i hated the operators thing at launch but im kinda curious to see what the game would look like and how they would go before they stop supporting the game
