What to do when travelling for two weeks?

What's everyone go to during long periods of vacation? Will be travelling to Japan for two weeks during peak humidity and summer and really want to retain strength and cardio. Body combat can be done inside the hotel but what about strength - is this going to be the trainer series or tone? Which requires almost no equipment? I could buy a single Les mills smart band (is this significantly different than a normal band?) if that sets me up (assume I won't have access to weights etc).

And if I did have some dumbbells / weights, which programme would it be? Tone? (Not looking to do body pump, need slower exercises due to injuries that originated from body pump years ago).

Body Attack !

So I was just looking at the app and the new releases, and I thought I would flick through a body attack release to see what it is like, I have never done that class myself.

Oh my goodness, I cannot believe that it is humanly possible to be that energetic for that amount of time!

The Energy and inspiration from the presenters is off the scale and I am almost tempted to give it a go although I would definitely start with the shortest option first!

Is body attack popular in clubs? Or do any of you do it at home? And how long does it take to build up to being able to do a whole class?!

To my very untrained eye, it seemed a bit similar to the tone class, that I have also enjoyed flicking through but not actually doing, recently. Is there much difference in Practice? Do people prefer one to the other and why?

Can’t use my LG TV

I purchased my Les mills subscription to do workouts and stream from my TV so I can do the moves. I have an LG T and apparently the app is no longer available to be used on LG TVs until further notice. This is in addition to the app being down on LG TVs for a couple months earlier this year. For the price paid, this is very frustrating and has been an ongoing issue. LM support suggested casting, watching from my phone, or using a web browser. Casting is clunky and often freezes and I cannot do a Bodypump workout from my tiny iPhone. There is also no way I’m typing in the website every time by pointing and clicking every letter into the TV and then my user name and password. I just want the app to work again :-(

Old workouts are back?

I just logged in today to do my workout and noticed that the old pre-#15 workouts are there...what happened? This is great

New app

Really don’t like the new app as much. If I have a programme playing, and I maximise screen on my phone but then need to rewind a few seconds, it freezes, doenst rewind, minimises screen and causes frustration to the point I close and relaunch the app. Just me?

Are there customizable plans for LesMills+

So I really just want to do BodyJam and I dont really care for all the other programs. I'm willing to pay the subscription but I was wondering if there was a plan that basically just has the one program instead of 3 of xx.

also would like to hear from those who have subscribed. has it been worth it so far?

Help me understand these plans please!

Hello! I’m trying to make sense of the Les Mills plans and I feel very silly that I don’t get it!

Can someone please tell me if Tone is in the base plan or is it in the premium plan?
What does the 3+ workouts mean in the base plan?

Side note: I did Tone for years but do you think I remember any of the tracks myself ?? Nope. And now I’m 3mo postpartum and want to do these workouts at home.
Thanks for your help!

Pregnancy Friendly Release Recommendations?

I've been a member of my gym here in Tokyo and an avid Les mills participant for over ten years now - Attack, Jam and Grit as my main loves, with a few Combat and Pump classes sprinkled in. Attended the Live event in Tokyo last year and it was amazing!

However...I'm now 4 months pregnant, very happy news of course, but Japanese gyms err on the side of caution and my chain won't allow pregnant women to use the facilities at all. I had a pretty easy first trimester, so I've been attending most of my classes as usual (aside from Grit) with lower intensity, but as I approach week 15 I know I can't really hide it for much longer so I'm going to quit :(

I do have an online account, so I was wondering if anyone had release recommendations that lend themselves well to pregnancy modifications? I've tried a couple of the pregnancy releases themselves and liked them, but I'd like to keep doing some of the regular programmes as much as possible. Thank you for your help!

From teaching Body Pump to BP HEAVY

A question for Body Pump instructors who are also now teaching HEAVY: was it easy to learn the new format and do you enjoy teaching HEAVY? I love teaching Pump but not sure I have the bandwidth to add HEAVY to my lexicon. Just curious about others’ experiences. TIA!

Body Pump Chest Routines

I've been going to body pump classes for many years. Recent chest routines have had rounds of chest press followed by very short set of pushups. I think it's bad design for a routine to have to quickly put your barbell on the floor, rush around behind your bench to be told there's just 8 pushups. And then rush back around to grab your bar and resume chest presses. I get that it's designed to keep intensity, high HR etc., but I'd rather have the time necessary to do maybe 2 sets of 8 pushups, without the "Quick Transition!" rushing around.

Clean and press question

I think I have this right...... When doing a clean and press, it starts out as a high pull, then twist the wrists and press up.

I do tend to SLIGHTLY to a reverse curl (if I'm not paying attention to form) on the way up.

Another participant in class said I could injure myself. It certainly doesn't seem like that would happen.

Your thoughts?

I just did BPH 2 on the app and really enjoyed it, I think! In my view the music was massively better than no1. the structure was pretty much the same.

I really noticed that there was a lot less time between sets and between the two exercises in each set. I had to pause/ rewind A LOT to get the recovery and weight-changing time I needed. The cool down stretch was also really rushed. I can’t imagine how it would feel trying to keep up in a live class? It took me 1 hour 14 minutes to do the class!

I also found the 4+8 reps in the upper body track quite confusing. In future I’ll do it as 4+4 because 8 of anything is quite enough 😬

I did enjoy some of the teaching cues that were new to me. And a great presenting team too.

Anyone else tried it?

Body pump themed class

I’m trying to create a body pump playlist to teach at my local gym. I want to focus it around 1980s music. Does anybody have a pre-determined tracklist where each song for each focus is from the 80s or at least late 70s or early 90s? There are a bunch of tracks I can use, but there are some like warm-ups that I can’t seem to find a good one for. I tried ChatGPT and it kept giving me random 80s songs for warmups and shoulders as well as core. Makes me think there is not much out there.
