My stubby tail twins

Baja Blast and Cantina are from the same litter and both have stubby tails! They are “twins” we like to joke because they have similar color though Baja has gotten way darker with age.

Hunting Abilities -10

She was convinced the lizard was in this particular shoe and kept sticking her head in it expecting something to pop out 😂 even after I picked it up and shook it to show nothing was in there, she immediately went and stuck her head back in to double check.

Nova went to the river for the first time today! 🥹

She was so good and the kids loved her. She loved exploring and sun bathing. I am so excited for all of our adventures to come 🖤

Instagram loved this so I wanted to share it with you guys too!

There are so many little things I love about this clip! The little noise she makes while jumping, the elegant hop and dive into the box, her cute little bunny butt smacking the edge lol, and the way she looks at me & the pupils starting to dilate after she turns around. If you guys want to follow along her IG is @jenevelle.the.manx

New Manx owner

Hi!!

I just got another kitty and she's a Manx. She's about a year old and was originally found out on the streets. She is adorable and I love her. With that said she is an absolute menace 😂 I actually had a Bengal cat before so I thought I was prepared for the energy level but holy crap. This cat is like a toddler with fur!! She needs to be near me 24/7. I work from home and she is constantly climbing on me and meows and gets on my desk. When I move her she jumps right back up or bites my hand. I don't blame her for any behavioral issues since she is still adjusting to indoor life. I will say the nipping caught me off guard a bit. With my apartment setup I don't have a great way to isolate myself from her while working. I'm still trying to figure out how to manage the nipping.

So I guess I have a few questions. She meows all the time non-stop. Is this just how the breed is? Do you get used to it?

She needs a lot of enrichment time and engagement so any advice on keeping this smarty pants entertained is welcomed.

I have been playing with her multiple times a day and playing bird videos on my tv if I can't play.

Last question, she farts a lot -_- and it's stinky. The vet said she's ok but is this common with Manx as well? Any recommendations for food? I understand the Manx have some health risks.

Any other advice for a new Manx owner is welcome. Thank you!! I'm determined to keep my little buddy happy.

are non-manx cats ruined for me forever?

i got my Manx baby for my 17th birthday & have had her for 8 years now. she’s easily the best cat i’ve ever met. she is so incredibly intelligent (always responds to her name & i trained her to stay off the kitchen counters in less than two weeks and she hasn’t set foot on them since, even when we moved houses she somehow knew to stay off these kitchen counters), she loves people, she is not skittish, everyone that meets her absolutely loves her. i love cats but i don’t have any experience caring for a non-manx cat. i’m worried that when she passes i’m not gonna be able to connect with another cat. i will not buy from a breeder but i think i already hit the jackpot finding my baby at the shelter and i feel i may not get so lucky next time.

what’s y’all’s experience with non-manx cats? can they be as smart and friendly as manx? people who work at shelters, how common is it to see manx cats there?

Dumped Kittens update

UPDATE***
After trying each and every suggestion we found a few different fosters to include our own Reddit community! I will update with the full ending and hopefully photos tomorrow. I can’t thank you enough

Thank you to this community for giving me us so much encouragement throughout this and plenty of reading material last night. Now onto the update, it’s kinda long and rambling sorry, sleep deprived.

All 12 are still alive! There are 2 that are still acting lethargic but are still eating but are also the smallest. I think they are maybe 2 weeks old as their eyes are open but ears are folded. Also, more than half either don’t have a tail or has less than held of one. No trauma seen. This morning, once petsmart opens I will get some kitten replacement formula. And continue to feed them and at least keep them warm, loved and with a full belly while I have them.

So, the ACO officer told me to bring them back Tuesday as that is when they can contact their fosters to take them but I have reserve about bring them there. It is not a no kill shelter and there isn’t one in the immediate area. The one cat charity is incredibly hard to work with. Both on them taking kittens and adopting from them, which is their choice I suppose.

I am hesitant on posting my location on here but I obviously need help. I have surgery in 2 weeks and can’t keep bottle feeding 12 kittens until they are of age to adopt. And even if I could, I don’t know 10 people that want a kitten as we would like to keep 2 but not 12 (despite my son’s protest ).

I hate to ask for more advice but is anyone familiar with an organization that takes bottle babies in the DFW? I don’t have facebook or Nextdoor and we live in a small town outside of DFW. But I’m willing to drive/coordinate for these sweet beans. Before and after photos.

Thank you again,
TLDR: all 12 are still alive but I need help finding a bottle fed kitten organization is DFW.

Benson the Manx X!

Recently adopted this little cheeky fella that we've named Benson 🥰 Any thoughts on what he may be mixed with? His foster carer thinks he may be part Maine Coon. Thanks!

Pam's 15th Birthday

I found her and several other siblings at barely a week old. She had 1 other stumpy sister, the others with regular tails. Many bottle filled nights back then🌙 My Pam stuck around while the others had moved on. Please wish this old girl a happy 15th birthday 🎂 😸

Had to say goodbye to my perfect boy on Monday. Caboose was my first pet and I cherish every moment of his 14 years with me. I'm so lost without him, but seeing y'alls babies is making me smile. Maybe I'll find another nubby blonde one day ;-;

I miss my boy so fucking much. I have other pets, but he was my first pet. He greeted me loudly, patrolled whatever room I was in like my little sentinel and was all around the best cat. I miss his little nubby tail and his talkativeness and how he always looked to me in times of need. He was my little prince.

Need support. I feel awful.

I feel like a failure of a cat parent.

At the end of April, I adopted an 8 week old kitten. She is so sweet, playful, and affectionate. I discovered she had a mild prolapse and we’ve been dealing with diarrhea. She is a Manx mix and the vet explained this as the reason for her prolapse. We’ve been monitoring. The diarrhea has not yet resolved itself - we appropriately transitioned her onto her current regimen (75 % dry 25% wet 3x day) and she is taking a probiotic powder. This has done nothing to change her stool. She eats well, drinks regularly, and acts like a normal kitten for the most part.

Prior to adoption, the shelter did not disclose this diarrhea issue to us. They had disclosed to me that they had bathed her because she had poo all over her butt, but did not disclose if this was a one off thing or a constant problem. They also failed to disclose the prolapse.

It all came to a head this past weekend. She has left skid marks on the couch, the chair, my bedding, my clothes while I’m wearing them and my pillows. She uses the litter box so her skid marks are more a result of runny poop/not realizing she has poo in her butt rather than her trying to tell us she’s having a health concern. We tried giving her a bath and we bought diapers to help contain her skid marks during the night when we can’t be on hand with wipes to clean her. She fought the diapers and clawed us up so she’s just been banished to the living room and that makes me sad. I know it’s not her fault.

I am just so overwhelmed and at a loss of what to do. My friend says she could grow out of it, but what if she doesn’t? I work full time and I can’t dedicate the time she deserves for round the clock care to keep her butt clean and prevent skid marks. I know diapers are a risky game because they need to be changed frequently and would need regular bathes. She has another vet appointment on the 18th soon to get more answers hopefully. Her older brother struggled with diarrhea when he was a kitten, but he grew out of it (for lack of a better term). I feel like I’m just letting her down. My boyfriend and I love her so much. My biggest fear is having to rehome her/surrender her to a special needs cat rescue if that becomes the situation.

I have never had to rehome/surrender a cat before. I had my previous cat since my freshman year of high school and I euthanized her this past February due to old age/quality of life (19 y/o). It’s not a decision I take lightly if it comes to that.

I just needed to vent. I’m scared. I feel hopeless. I feel like I’m doing a bad job as a cat parent.
