Happy accident ✨

I used white stamping polish and I didnt like the way it looked so I went to paint over it (with Arcana Jade Drake) and i loved the way it looked with a sheer coat of the crelly polish. I will be trying this out with other polishes too now 🖤

Zodiac/Dreamcatcher Set

Original plan was much more colourful but the base colour came out too dark. Last minute swing to silver and just used the basic outline stamps.

Snake skin 🐍

The shiftiness of the magnetic under the stamped image is dreamy. I’ll be repeating this one!

Polish bubbling on stamper?

I'm having so much fun with stamps! One thing I'm struggling with is designs that have a larger solid filled area vs. tiny line details and bubbles showing up after stamping. For example, French tips. Everything looks fine after I fill and scrape the template, but when I stamp it, small bubbles/holes appear in the design while still on the stamper. It happens with multiple brands of polish (I use gel). I've tried using more polish, I've tried using less polish. I clean the stamper with alcohol (because of the gel polish). I've tried cleaning the templates with both acetone and alcohol thinking one of them was causing some kind of reaction but the results are the same. Anyone with similar experience/solutions?

Looking for advice

So I started collecting indie polish 2 years ago, I have a little over 200 now. I then just recently got into stamping and went crazy bought like 25 plates and abunch of stamping polish. However I did not think it through that 98% of my polishes are glittery, shimmery, glowy, flakey ect. I have a few crème polishes but not many, I like sparkly loud polish and I didn’t think about how a lot of stamps won’t look good with such busy backgrounds or will blend in too much. Any techniques or examples of glittery shimmery polishes you’ve stamped on I’d love to see! I’m now stuck between wanting to wear my pretty polish and wanting to wear my pretty stamps but feeling like both at the same time won’t work. I put some examples of the polishes I typically wear.

Tips for cleaning difficult design plates?!

I have this stamping plate from Maniology that I love but I don’t love how difficult it is to clean, so it prevents me from using it as much as I want to☹️

My gripe is that the fibers from the cotton ball always get caught/stuck in the little dots, making it hard to get all the polish off but also making it hard to get a nice clean stamp from it without little cotton fibers attached to the stamped/nail.

Is there a better way to clean a plate with this kind of tiny dot design? Or are plates like this just a trade off on having to put in WORK to clean it for the beauty of the design??

EDIT: THANK YOU QUEENS👑💅 Consensus from the comments seems to be:

  • wipe with microfiber cloth

/

  • paper towel --> must be lint-free
  • toothbrush

/

  • paintbrush

/makeup sponge

  • for small corners and details
  • pure acetone is best

, but rubbing alcohol also works

  • use lint roller on plate to double-check for stray fibers
  • NO cotton balls

Super happy with these!

The base is more pink in person, but I just can't capture the color. Loved how this mani turned out!

Still failing at getting my stamper to pick up the patterns

Hi,

I am still having no luck getting my stamper to pick up any designs. I tried buying actual stamping polish, am holding the scraper at about 45 degrees, and I washed the silicone stamper with soap and water and fully dried it before trying. I am committed to getting this to work (especially because I maybe stupidly just ordered a 5 pack of Halloween stamping plates), but am getting desperate. I also bought a sticky base coat, but i don't know how that will help my initial problem of not even getting a pattern onto the stamp. I've read a bunch of posts, watched videos, but am hoping maybe someone has a magic trick for a beginner, that I have not yet found.

Monochrome Flowers

- KBShimmer Stay Put hydrating base coat

- OPI "Alpine Snow"

- Sally Hansen InstaDri (red bottle) (to level it all out before stamping)

- Panda Hall "flower" plate

- Messy Mansion "Carbon" Stamping polish

- Maniology Aqua Topper

- Sally Hansen Volume Builder top coat

- Wonder Beauty Products Wondergloss QDTC

Pretty pleased with this monochrome look! It's been a while since I've worn something that wasn't sparkly. This was a last minute "screw it. I'm doing flowers." decision after a day full of analysis paralysis. Not bad for my second time stamping for realsies.
