Red Admiral
After last night's much needed rain and a fairly cloudy day I wasn't expecting to see any butterflies today but this nice Red Admiral paid a visit to the buddleia.

Are you team Small Copper or team Common Blue?
Not rare I know, but wow they are stunning! So many in my garden currently, basking in the sun between trips to the buddleia.
If only the moth was on a tree I'd never have seen it. Speckled Woods are always a delight.
A couple of today's butterflies and a hoverfly... sadly the blues didn't want to be photographed, perhaps later!
A lovely Small Copper on heather in north Cornwall this afternoon.
Found in Leeds, England. I get confused between all the blue butterflies haha 😅
Left to right: Comma, Peacock, Red Admiral, Common Blue, Hedge Brown (Gatekeeper)
Nice to see these to in the garden this afternoon. In the morning while out on a bike ride I was a lovely Clouded Yellow fluttering around. I stopped and followed it up and down the verge, hoping it would land; sadly I lost sight of it so couldn't get a picture.
Photo taken by me in Southern Hartlepool in mid July. I assumed a small skipper based on Geography, but I think I might have been too conservative? Thoughts?
Just spotted this in my garden on the oregano plant. It's so so tiny, never seen one before! Looking it up, it might be a Mint Moth? It's anyone able to confirm?
Best butterfly day for some time; pity the Comma flew off after one snap; I'll have to keep an eye open in case it returns.
I’m new here so I hope moths are allowed.
Saw a few butterflies on my morning walk today! Red Admiral definitely stole the show it's my first time properly photographing one so I'm very happy with it! And a veined white and speckled wood on top too :)
I spotted three of these in a tiny patch of local woodland; I thought they'd all flown off but thankfully this one landed and I could get a picture.
There was around five or six at the very least flying close together this morning, whereas most other spots I get red admiral pictures from, I'll usually only see two at the most flying together.
