I need a cheap reliable “beater” SUV that will be used maybe 1-5 times a month. I’ve been looking at CRVs and HRVs but noticed that Pilots are noticeably cheaper with less miles. I am assuming this is because they are harder to maintain due to a rubber timing belt? Considering if buying an older (2nd gen or maybe early 3rd gen) with 100k-150k miles is a good idea over a CRV.
I’m looking to buy a cheap used suv/crossover. I see 2015 Kicks/Pathfinder/Rogue/Murano for the same prices as 2007 RAV4/CRV/4Runner. Are the CVTs that bad that it would be wiser to purchase an 8 year older Toyota/honda?
I recently bought this floor liner off Amazon to protect the carpet. It seems to be pretty good quality, but it’s also a bit padded. I feel a slight bit of resistance when the clutch pedal gets all the way down. I don’t THINK it’s stopping it from getting all the way down, but I am a little paranoid that it may be stopping it by half a cm or something and that could cause issue with my clutch down the line. Should I cut the mat under the clutch pedal?
I put some ONR mixed with water in a spray bottle to have ready when I need to spray off some bird poop or anything. I noticed that all the blue color was gone when I went to use it. Is it still going to work the same or does it somehow lose effectiveness when premixed in a bottle?
I’ve had my FL5 for about three weeks now. Today I noticed a piece of rubbery adhesive hanging from the front bumper and pulled it off. Want to make sure this is just some shopping tape not removed from PDI and not some kind of issue with the bumper.
Something to haul my fishing gear/paintball gear/car parts, all the stuff I don’t want in my new car. The most reliable machine I can get for 5k.
Or only the front? Is it possible to check the rear without jacking up the car?

I recently had my new car ceramic coated and they polished it before, but I still see some swirls that bother me. I am guessing a polish isn’t the same as paint correction? I want to redo it and recoat the car, but I’m not sure how many times I am supposed to polish and/or correct a car’s paint before I ruin the clear coat.
