Best SOC Upper charge setting for best batter longevity?

I have my batteries at an upper limit of 80% to help longevity and lifespan, but im wondering if they should be lower, or can be higher without affecting their lifespan and reliability.

Any experts care to weigh in?

I'm tired of everything being the same

This is the article that spawned the following rant

Now I dont really care about Bumble, but it had something unique, and if I was dating online I would sign up for it just because of that, even if I tried other sites too

Phones went the same way. If you're a millenial you remember flip phones, and there was the LG Env which flipped and had a full keyboard. I loved those. In the early days of smartphones we had phones with full keyboard like the original Droid. Now, that might not have been your choice but there were plenty of other options too, and there were actual choices out there. Now all phones are the same cookie cutter bs, and our only choice is android or apple. Theres nothing unique

Everybodys chasing the biggest slice of the market with everything they do, so we all end up with the same stupid sh!t Nintendo is the perfect example of companies carving out something unique. playstation and xbox can fight over the mainstream releases, but Nintendo does its own thing and people LOVE it. A lot of ps and xbox owners have a switch too, because you can't get that experience anywhere else.

Its the same thing with manual transmissions, everything is automatics now, cold soulless and boring. If a major manufacturer would put a clutch in a few different models (you can even use the same engine to prevent having to r/d multiple times) people would flock to it. Every year I see articles listing the last few remaining manual transmission offerings for the coming year. There are plenty of enthusiasts out there who want a manual in something more practical than a porsche. Instead, the majority of the market wants an automatic (I dont blame them) but thats all we get.

Companies have completely forgotten about the demographics outside the biggest one, so everything they make is generic and boring to appeal to as many people as possible. Theres nothing unique anymore

Trying to write an Indicator that draws S/R lines on each Open, Close, and Wick

I seem to be able to draw them fine, but I'm getting hung up trying to apply them to previous candles. The code included is my most recent, and is only drawing lines on current -1.

rangeStart = 1
rangeEnd   = 50

if barstate.islast
// Loop through the selected slice of history
for i = rangeStart to rangeEnd
    topBody = math.max(open[1], close[1])
    botBody = math.min(open[1], close[1])
    // Apply your action to this specific slice
    line.new(bar_index - 1, high[1], bar_index, high[1], extend=extend.right, color=color.rgb(255, 0, 0, 75), width=1)
    line.new(bar_index - 1, low[1], bar_index, low[1], extend=extend.right, color=color.rgb(255, 0, 0, 75), width=1)
    line.new(bar_index - 1, topBody, bar_index, topBody, extend=extend.right, color=color.rgb(255, 0, 0, 75), width=1)
    line.new(bar_index - 1, botBody, bar_index, botBody, extend=extend.right, color=color.rgb(255, 0, 0, 75), width=1)

Heres another version, that only seems to go back the past 14 bars or so

topBody = math.max(open[1], close[1])
botBody = math.min(open[1], close[1])
// Draw lines for the previous candle (bar 1 to bar 0 or extended slightly)
if barstate.isconfirmed
    line.new(bar_index - 1, high[1], bar_index, high[1], extend=extend.right, color=color.rgb(255, 0, 0, 75), width=1)
    line.new(bar_index - 1, low[1], bar_index, low[1], extend=extend.right, color=color.rgb(255, 0, 0, 75), width=1)
    line.new(bar_index - 1, topBody, bar_index, topBody, extend=extend.right, color=color.rgb(255, 0, 0, 75), width=1)
    line.new(bar_index - 1, botBody, bar_index, botBody, extend=extend.right, color=color.rgb(255, 0, 0, 75), width=1)

I've tried just about every option I can find, and I'm not sure where I'm going wrong. Ultimately I'd like to be able to apply it to a range of bars, maybe the last 50, but definitely controlled using a variable

Any help appreciated!

[Discussion] I want to talk about balance

I've been playing a lot of timeless recently. For the last couple months, as soon as I hit platinum I just hit all these jank decks that win on crazy combos.

I think Modern (on paper) is in a really healthy spot right now, and I think that standard is pretty diverse even if its a bit too fast for my taste.

Where do you like to draw the line between "I just wanna play a game of magic" and running into an overwhelming number of unfair decks. Theres definitely a place for both, and I'm not here to cry about being stomped. Sometimes I want to play the highest level I can, and sometimes I want to play a game of clean magic.

It varies so much sometimes doesn't it? I want standard to be a slower format where I get to play with new cards. Brew some jank shit of my own. I love modern, I can pick up a number of decks and find an even playing field. Timeless seems a little bit to anarchist for me only because I'm trying to jam games with a fair(ish) deck. Pauper seems good from a distance, I havent gotten a lot of experience with it in person.

Do you all bounce from format to format? or do you have a real favorite that stays at the level you want to play?

How are you storing your jumpstart decks?

I have 3 beginner boxes and a handful of packs that I've been able to comfortably get into 2 beginner boxes. I really like the slotted boxes that they give you for each deck, and I have the majority of accessories/play mats in the one beginner box. Its starting to get a bit overcrowded though, and pretty much all mtg accessories that I see are really only for cards. I could figure something out for the smaller accessories and stuff, but I haven't found a way to store them wit the playmats and instruction manuals.

can you share pictures and links of the solutions you've found out there? I'd love to find a single box that I can store everything in, including (and especially) the slotted boxes, I really like to be able to see the decks at a glance

What alls out there? creative solutions welcome too!

Why do you like Draft/Cube?

I get the ins and outs about how to play it, but (and please dont take this the wrong way) it never really appealed to me and I'm wondering what I'm missing

My biggest gripe (if you can even call it that) is that I want to play with the cards I want to play with. Worst case someone ahead of me takes my lane and I have to adjust to whatevers available, best case my lane is open and I get to play with a random assortment of cards from the archetype.

I've drafted a few times in person and a few dozen on arena, and I usually end up mid pack so this isn't me complaining about a format that I get stomped in, it just seems like less fun since I might get stuck playing a bunch of cards that I dont even like, or get stuffed out of a playable deck in general

I'm not trying to hate on the format at all, I just figure theres some part that I dont see and thats why I dont get the appeal. To anyone who prefers this type of limited over constructed help me understand why

[[Modern]] Is Grim Tutor Modern Playable?

[[Grim Tutor]]

3cmc, sorcery speed.

I almost want to compare it to Stock Up, doesn't provide card advantage but dwarfs it in card selection

Seems like its on the line at least, but I'm curious to hear your thoughts

Recently Started Selling Cards on Ebay and My Margins are Terrible

So bad it doesn't seem right. I'm only selling high value singles from my own collection here, so I'm just looking at take home vs market price, and after fees and shipping I'm right around 65%.

I'm listing cards at or near TCG low, shipping in bubble mailers for about $7.5 package, and charging shipping for a flat $4

Ebay fees are 22%

I'm really only selling bangers, cards worth $20-100 or so right now, so its not like I'm getting eaten alive by shipping costs, and cards of that $range obviously can't go untracked or in pwe

How can I tighten up these margins? or is this just the reality of selling on ebay? I hate to say it but if I'm clearing 65% of the market value after doing work those buylists are starting to look pretty attractive.

Help finding a card

I played at a casual modern tournament a while back, and got surprised (I had been in and out of the game quite a bit) by a creature that grew as its controller lost life. I want to say it was black and a goyf but either of those could be wrong. He chipped away at his own life total with fetchlands and shocks and grew this thing pretty quickly. It wasn't a meta deck, but it might have been popular in the past and just outclassed by now.

I'm going thru searches and scryfall today trying to find it, but I just can't seem to get anything that seems right. Any ideas to what this card could be?

EDIT: Seems as though its deaths shadow! I'm still open to other similar cards that might go well in a deck like this

Just getting started, looking for tutorials and stuff

I'm curious if my first few steps are in the right direction here. I want to start playing around in pinescript and using TV for some really rough backtesting. I'm familiar with trading and have some ideas and want to start looking at win/loss ratios and stuff under different conditions. This is really just to get a direction before I start writing real code.

I have a background in Node so I'll probably be using JS for the project, I dont really see a reason to use python, I think node will be able to handle things like EMAs and store simple numbers like price. Am I underestimating the complexity here?

Any really good resources out there besides the sub that I should take a look at? Reading, videos etc that provide a good overview?

What was your color combo back in the day?

Feels like the color pie has dissolved over the years. I remember everyone had their colors back in the day, and we almost had a rivalry against other players just because of what we played, regardless of deck, because we knew their play style

I was RG, start with ramp and direct damage, then move into hasty creatures and finishing with big stompy, probably with trample. My favorite cards were [[ball lightning]], [[eron the relentless]], and anything big and green

What about you?

TCG hit me with a counterfeit claim

(well, a buyer did.) It was a 2 faced card that I thought I had verified, but the buyer certainly doesn't think so. This is my first time, but I don't do a lot of volume (674 reviews - 99.8% positive - over about 6 years - no negative reviews and no counterfeit claims just few neutrals)

The buyer sent the card to be authenticated, but im not 100% sure how it'll come back and im worried, not because I sent a known fake, but because I know I'm not great at authenticating without the t test and green dot. I don't have known good cards for everything I check

What have your experiences been, what should I expect? Really appreciate all responses here

How up to date is the wiki?

I dont see BM listed but they're commonly recommended and have been for a while which makes me think its out of date.

Really im just curious about which sellers are doing their own printings these days. I'd like to buy samples from any printers who are, but avoid overlaps with resellers or people who share printers/files and end up being the same

Is anybody doing Bootleg Gold Borders?

They're different and cool, and I see a lot of printings that aren't just the basic card, but havent found any of these. Is anyone doing them? Dont care what the backs look like

How do you (Personally) cut through the noise?

Moderately successful daytrader here, all based on technicals. I want to start putting some of my money into longer-term investments but I've never paid much attention to fundamentals

All I see online and on tv is stock tips and opinions and who knows whats quality and whats not. I want to put my money somewhere safe with moderate growth expectations and not worry too much about it. I'm not really interested in bogglehead methods although eventually I'm sure I'll put some in voo and chill

Right now I'm curious how people are qualifying medium to long term buys, are you looking for underpriced deals on strong companies like Buffet? Looking at companies hitting the 200? Are you buying based on momentum? Shorting things that are overextended (in this market?)

I'm still looking for growth with a strong tolerance for risk, and I'd like to buy near ATM LEAPS, probably just OTM. I attempted something like this in February buying leaps for Google but I paperhanded them and regret it. This is the kind of play that I'd like to be able to find more of. I almost did the same with Microsoft when it was dancing with $400 but the news has been terrible and I thought it had a good chance of going lower. I'm toying with the idea of Meta right now if it hits 600 again

All advice, tactics, thought patterns and especially reading appreciated
