Bike shop recs near Westminster?

Hey all, can anyone recommend a bike shop for repairs, service, tires etc near or in the general vicinity of Westminster? Looking on Google maps but seems kinda lacking in the area. I have two Specialized mountain bikes I need to get rolling again. Thank you!

Is there any hope the will repress the Silent Hill 2 remake vinyl again?

I am bummed by the current resale prices. I knew I would regret not ordering it when it first came out and yep, lol. The prices on resales are crazy. Mondo ended up repressing the original soundtracks a few times so I'm hoping someone will do the same with the remake?

Help removing the stand from screen on a HP touch screen

I need help removing the stand/base from an HP All In One. It's an HP AIO touch screen and I can't find any way to remove the stand at all. This is very frustrating. There's no release tab or screws or anything. Surely this can't be a permanent stand??

It is an HP - Pavilion 27" Touch-Screen All-In-One - Intel Core i7 - 16GB Memory - 1TB SSD - Sparkling Black.

I looked on Youtube and searched and just do not see any way to do this. What am I missing?

I laid it flat and searched for any kind of quick release tab or screws but there is nothing there. Any advice is appreciated.

This is it.

Looking for advice on moving my large collection cross country during summer

Hey all, I know this has been asked before so apologies. I am looking for advice from people who have done this. I am very torn on what to do. I am moving cross country (US) this summer. I have a fairly large collection: almost 1,000 records. I purchased the BCW boxes (which are great btw!) but now need to decide if I should:

  • try and drive my records in my personal vehicles (2). This will take 2 days and take lots of room in car
  • or just pack them in the moving pod and stop worrying about it and hope for the best

Driving them myself presents it's own problems because there's 15 boxes of records, lol. They will take up most all of the room in the vehicles and the records will still be sitting in a hot vehicle no matter what. Plus side, takes 2 days to drive. Downside, no room for anything else.

Putting them in a pod is obviously easier but I'm seriously stressing about the heat/transport. I have read several posts with opinions on both methods but I haven't seen anything really definitive. I have collected for a long time and understand records normally sit in hot warehouses and trucks for days/weeks...but still.

If i secure the boxes in a pod and cover them with a blanket/tarp, they should be ok, right? Pod will take 2 weeks to show up.

I am probably overthinking this but I value my collection very much.

Appreciate any insight!

Energy bar glitch?

I used my widget reclaim and also watched two ads...did the mini game at the end of the level and it drained all of my energy. I had 24. Never had that happen before.

Anyone else getting bombarded with Jumpspeak ads??

Just wondering if this is experienced by others but it seems like I am being bombarded with JS ads lately. I've never tried the app but reviews seem really mixed.

I'm considering a speaking app but none of them seem to be really great. Anyone try any of them and have good results? Curious if any of them are actually worth paying for.

I'm tempted to try ChatGPT but need to find a resource with how to set it up. Anyone try that or have any resources to give it a shot?

Can anyone school me on bike laws/etiquette/norms/safety? Westminster area

I'm moving soon. Will be riding in Westminster/Arvada/Broomfield/Louisville areas and am curious about laws/rules/expectations/safety etc.

I ride a mountain bike to work out. Where I live now, I'm able to legally ride on the sidewalks when there isn't a bike lane, so my riding consists of sidewalks, bike lanes, multi-use paths. I ride in the street in residential neighborhoods but typically not on busy roads.

How is riding in these areas and anything I should know/be aware of? I typically ride 20-30 miles a session so would like to find routes to do that.

Thanks in advance!

Trying to determine is an old bike is worth repairing/selling or just giving away/trashing

Years ago when I was just starting out, I bought a Sixthreezero EVRYjourney Men's 7-Speed Hybrid Cruiser Bicycle. I had no idea what I was doing and used this bike a ton to work out until I eventually upgraded to much better bikes.

The gear shifter is broken and needs repair, it's basically stuck in one gear but still rideable. It's definitely used but still in good shape otherwise. I am wondering if I should just give this away or if it's worth trying to repair and sell it? Lol. Was like $500 new.

In Transit to Next Facility, Arriving Late ???

Like many others here, my Priority Mail package is in limbo. Zero updates since Friday. It is time sensitive. Does talking to someone on the phone help at all? I emailed USPS and they responded that it's still in transit and they will investigate and respond in 3 business days...eyeroll. Do I have any recourse here at all? Priority Mail used to never be this bad. Guess it's time to look at other options if this is how bad USPS is now. Sheesh.

Fake check scam? It's for $50, lol

Trying to make sense of this - I am almost positive this is a scam but it's so random and weird. I received a check in the mail from "HD LLC" with an address in Illinois. I looked it up, turns out HD stands for "Heartland Dental" and the address matches up. I do not live in Illinois and have never heard of this place.

So, scam right? There is no information or anything. Just the check, signed by what looks like a mass produced signature, made out to me, an invoice number/date. That's it. No other info.

The really stupid thing is that the check is for $50 and change. Why would someone try to do a fake check scam for fifty dollars and change?? Lol.

Best options for shipping a bike cross country? US

So, I can't find a local bike shop that will ship my bikes for me. What are my options? We're using Ubox containers but I was hoping to find a way to ship them separately to save space. Are there boxes someone can recommend or am I missing something? They're mountain bikes, 29 inch wheels.

Edit: Anyone used or have experience with Buycycle? Shipping service - seems reasonable.

Anyone else have no idea what level they really are?

This is a little long - apologies.

So, I've been doing a crash course with learning Spanish (again). I studied in high school and college but then stopped using it for years and lost a lot of it. I've been back at it about 70 days now using Duolingo, Wlingua, Lingopie and consuming as much media (TV, movies and social media) as I can in Spanish. I also follow a ton of Spanish teachers on social media.

It's been interesting because there are days when I feel really good about my ability and other days when I feel terrible about it, depending on what I'm trying to understand and the context.

For example, the other day I watched a film on Netflix and was quite impressed with myself that I understood nearly everything. That felt amazing. Same goes for a cooking show I watch. I also am confident reading intermediate level things and news.

But other times I get lost easily depending on how complex the grammar/vocab is and my confidence goes back down into the dumps.

This is all very confusing because I don't really know what level I really am. I tried one of those free CEFR tests and it said I am B1. That feels about right to me but this is above where I am currently studying in Duo and Wlingua.

I am wondering if I am holding myself back by studying at lower levels and if I should try and jump ahead or if I should just stick with what I am doing. It feels like I have "holes" in my Spanish in some areas.

Anyone else have no idea what level they really are? Any suggestions?

I really enjoy Wlingua. Duo is rather simple but good for basic vocab stuff as a practice tool. Lingopie was fun at first but got a little tiring after a while. I need to revisit it. I have really started to enjoy just watching movies and Spanish TV. But I am unsure how beneficial those are long term.

Property management companies to avoid Vs good ones?

Is there a stickied post or megathread for this kind of thing? I have been searching for a home to rent and it's been a nightmare getting several property management companies to even respond. It seems most of these places use AI for inquiries and if you try to ask a question it goes nowhere. Very frustrating. And the fees...wow.

Are there any companies that people recommend in general? Or ones to completely avoid? I researched Sunnyside PM and their reviews are god awful.

I've had better luck communicating with private owners thus far.
