Pelican case or similar

Hey everyone! I grew up in Harford county but enlisted, left, and never returned. I live in Oregon now and want to bring my rifles back. Does anyone have a rifle case they want to sell? I’ve been looking on FBMP but haven’t found too many so figured I’d give this thread a shot.

Thanks!

I can fly in the clouds now!!!!!

After nine painful months of consistently questioning if I had what it takes, I passed my instrument checkride on the first round. I nailed all three approaches. The last was bumpy, and climbing back to altitude in the hold was damn near impossible impossible, but I made it happen. I ended up having the greatest landing of my entire life too which was rather nifty (and very abnormal). The only time I thought I failed was when I yelled “CLEAR” and turned the engine on. After it started, the DPE said, “Go ahead and turn the engine off for me.” I couldn’t believe it, I looked at him and said with a chuckle, “Wow, I failed already” thinking maybe I was still tired to the ground or something. He said, “Haha, no the oil door popped open.” That thirty seconds took me from thinking I failed to laughing which ultimately made me relax and calm down.

Remembering street names

Hey everyone,
I’ve applied to some departments and coming from the military and a police household, I feel I will be a good fit for the position. With that, I’m terrible with street names. As a kid I rode my bike everywhere and used land marks, before I enlisted, I drove but knew where I was or used my phone. Then in the military I moved around and just used my phone gps (especially in Hawaii, I tried to remember streets there but each road was a slightly different variation of Kahahhahkkahllllaakkkuuuuu street). So my question to you all is what technique did you use to remember street names. When you get calls from dispatch, do they send a pin that you just follow on the KDT?

Thanks!

29.4 😎

I got a Glock 29.4 from AZARMSDEPOT.com for a cool $499. He’s the real deal. He’s an Army vet so checkout his website. I really don’t think it’s had 50 rounds through it and neither did the guy at the shop. I’m super happy.

May have saved a devil’s life!!

I’m a bit scatter brained after hearing news from a dude at the gym, but want to share! I was the unicycling HM3 and got out two years ago tomorrow. At my college gym, I workout and see a marine vet. We bullshit but I didn’t know his name. I noticed protruding lumps on his neck and didn’t want to alarm him so I told him to call the VA. Turns out my suspicions were right, he has lymphoma. There’s not much wisdom in this post, but if you see something, point it out. Many people have no clue about the obvious things we notice. Hearing him say, “Doc, you literally may have saved my life because I’m totally fine” was awesome! Again, just wanted to share. Hooyah!

M&P 2.0 4 inch slide reassembly

Greetings everyone! I sent my slide off to get cerakoted recently and the slide arrived, all hardware was removed from the package, as so was my Glock 17 slide. I have spent months collecting up all the parts to rebuild it and finally got everything. I reassembled it today and it failed the function test. The slide moves back as the trigger is pulled. The tab beneath the optic gets pressed up by the striker and bent it and the slide moves as the trigger is squeezed. I’m about to say the hell with SW and just stick with Glock. I’m just curious of what others suspect I may be doing wrong. Does anyone know why in order to get this plate to seat, I remove almost all vertical movement of the striker block? If so, how can I correct it. It’s such a simple gun so I’m very irritated.

Old Workout Partner 🥰

I came back from my military specialty training course in 2018, I had been away for only six months, but I was so excited to see how little Kylee would react. She ran past me at the door and ran up to my cousin. I’m glad to know she missed me after six months. 🤣

Oregon State Police Questions

Hey everyone,

Does anyone have any thoughts on OSP? They legally must be among the top three highest paid agencies in the state, they’re full service, and have wildlife troopers which is the dream. I know OSP doesn’t get to take an overly aggressive approach to law enforcement due to state politics, but they don’t seem to sit around with their hands tied. If anyone is an OSP trooper, or has insight regarding the agency, could you share?

Thank you.

Safe Sight tool punch!!!

How exciting! Another 17.6… These Nylon punches are amazing. Out with the OEM and in with the new in 15 minutes. I put the slide in a vice, pinched the punch with a set of vice grips, and knocked the old sights out. No scratches to the gun or sight. Definitely worth $9 for twelve over the specialty tool. That is all, enjoy the weekend.

Fire fighters and SAR missions

Hey y’all, I’m curious if I could get some insight here. I have always wanted to be a police officer, parents are both cops, I grew up around it. When I turned 17, I enlisted in the Navy as a corpsman with the plan of becoming a swat medic. I am now 26 and in flight school. I will complete this $100,000 GI Bill funded training, but flying doesn’t scratch my public service itch. I’ve been looking into game warden, trooper, and sheriff departments, with a strong desire to do SAR missions.

Today, my mom mentioned becoming a Fire fighter and suddenly it hit me, that it’s the job I want, it just lacks the Glock 17. The schedule sounds great, the knight in turnout gear sounds great, exercise equipment at the station, helping people who are stranded in rigged terrain like that of Colorado, etc.

If anyone has any insight on firefighters getting to conduct SAR missions in the mountains, could you please share. This is such a cool career that I have looked beyond my whole life.

Thanks!

Assault Bike Questions?

Hey guys and ladies,

I don’t know much about the assault bike aside from the fact it’s “rather uncomfortable.” Today I set it to 10 miles and completed it in 24:38. I did a one minute challenge and got 57 calories. Are these good stats? I just kinda sent it.
