Non toxic ways to make your house smell good?

Any easy tips that are not plug in febreeze, fragrance sprays or candles? I occasionally use an essential oil burner but I am looking for something that lasts and gives a constant and subtle good smell.

Sorry for not being too knowledgeable about Cannes, but I have the same questions as Imaan? 🔍💭

This is just a small clip but basically Imaan talks about how every random Indian 'celebrity' is at Cannes as well as random Indian influencers so is going to Cannes even a big deal any more?

What is the criteria when these really random people are there.

Edit: Some Indians are getting very triggered in the comments so I have to clarify that Imaan was not talking about Alia Bhatt but the other celebs. She actually praises Alia a lot in the full video.

Miss Patty's meddling might have altered the course of Lorelai and Luke's relationship

So this really bugs me.

Lorelai gives a drunken toast at Lane's wedding while Luke is away with April. My heart goes out to Lorelai in that moment. She is clearly hurting so badly and her partner can't see it at all. He is too distracted and does not comprehend the gravity of Lorelai's despair.

However when Luke returns, Miss Patty's tells him a false story of how Lorelai got drunk and sang a song on stage. She ensures the whole town sticks to the story. I think this served no one and I wish she had not meddled.

Luke needed a huge WAKE UP call exactly like finding out his fiancé gave a hurt drunken toast. On my first watch years ago, I half expected Sookie or Rory to go shake Luke up the next day and tell him about the toast and Lorelai's extent of despair.

Instead Luke continues to walk around oblivious as ever and poor Lorelai sinks deeper and deeper, only now the whole town knows how bad the situation is but the person who should have known does not.

***shakes fist at Miss Patty***

Is this Sephora ACV hair scrub anything like the old (discontinued) one?

Looking for reviews on this one. I am not sure how sold I am on the ingredients list. I miss the original Sephora ACV hair scrub so so much, I was heartbroken when it was discontinued.

My list of grievances on my umpteenth watch of Vineyard Valentine

Yes its the cringiest episode ever (maybe only after A French Twist) and we all have discussed how unbelievable it is for Luke to never have had lobster and how out of character it is for him to act so poorly during their trip. However, there is more that bothers me about this storyline:

  1. Might seem minor to others but the way Rory is completely at ease in the kitchen is very off to me. Everything looks neat, in order and she isn't struggling in the slightest. They have spent 6 seasons establishing how Lorelai and Rory never cook and don't know the first thing about being in the kitchen and suddenly Rory is zesting lemons and using a garlic press. She has been around Sookie and Luke for most of her life but she never picked up a single thing about cooking or cooking equipment. It was just not believable that she became this kitchen savvy after (I am assuming) one or two trips to the vineyard. It would actually have been lovely to see Rory's first time at Martha's Vineyard, trying to learn how to cook because Logan enjoyed occassional cooking. Or perhaps taking a culinary class with Logan.

  2. They say that Rory and Logan have been at the vineyard before. It would have been way more interesting to see the two of them there alone, Rory's first time there or with friends their age. Heck, it would have been interesting to even see then there with Lgan's friends or maye inviting someone completely different like Lane and Zack. Zack bumbling around the way the writers made Luke do would have made a lot more sense. Lane is an awesome character I would have loved to see her in a situation other than the diner and the band.

Also this is yet another example of writers continously saying Logan and Rory did this and that but never actually showing anything they do together to us on screen like going away to NY, hopping on a plane, spending time at MV alone. I think this is why Logan was so exciting when we got to see the LDB episodes and then he becomes boring later on because they never show him exploring hobbies etc.

  1. The gym scenes are peak cringe. Asking laundry guys to massage them...what? (Were they actually masseuses because I could not understand this after rewatching this show for years) Its also very weird to see Lorelai act like she is with a gal pal and they are hanging out with their guys and being giddy. We never see her do this with any actual girl friends except like one dinner with Jackson and Sookie and one night out with Alex. She does not have girlfriends period. An episode showing Luke and Lorelai go away somewhere on their own would have been far more interesting.

  2. Luke suggesting they elope so they wouldn't have to do any planning. Um that was so not the issue. Lorelai had literally done all the planning. Girl just wanted him to set a date.

  3. Mitchum yelling at the Huntzberger heir in front of people he doesn't know. Empires like his have a PR image to uphold and this made no sense to me. Him yelling in another room and others being able to hear it would have made sense.

  4. I would like to know, when Luke bought the Twickham house, Lorelai decided that its better if they live at her place instead. So they did this whole extension and renovation etc. However Luke is still not living there? I don't get it. Rory can move in with Logan but Luke can't actually move in with Lorelai. A lot of their miscommunication could have been fixed if they were actually living together and picking up on each other's emotions during the day. (If anyone has any doubts about them not living together refer to Lorelai telling Rory that she wonders what living with a boy would be like when she moves in with Logan and Lorelai going back to her plave alone once they return from MV)

  5. If I had to rewrite this premise, I would want to see Rory & Logan at his Martha's Vineyard house alone or with a couple their age, taking a cooking class together and then the Mitchum situation happening. To make it interesting it would be nice to see a parallel storyline of Lorelai & Luke also away somewhere for the weekend, it could have even been at Emily and Richard's place in MV (they implied they were buying one but we never found out for sure).

END OF RANT

TL;DR Wish this episode was written differently

Why are we so bad at promoting our talent? I think we need to work on "the middle men"

Our tv/film promotions always seem kind of unfinished, like they could have done more or made a bigger deal about it. Our artists also seem to be so well loved by the entire SA diaspora but they just aren't able to break it into the next level of global fame. There have been a few good films that have come out of Pakistan but NO ONE has been able to get a single one on Netflix. Cmon imagine Khuda Ke Liye, Bol and Maula Jatt on Netflix or Prime or any other global OTT platform. They would do great internationally like foreign films out of Korea, Iran etc do. Instead producers decided to broadcast Maula Jatt on Geo one day which was only available in Pakistan (???)

Then take Mera Lyari for example. I would love to watch it but its not releasing in Canada. Why? Why isn't our distribution stronger? Also, Idk if anyone follows women's football but the Pakistani women's football team is having a MOMENT right now, globally. They are getting a lot of attention in the women's soccer arena. Why not collaborate with them to promote a WOMEN'S FOOTBALL FILM. Why not invite them to the premiere and give Pakistani girls real sports role models to look up to.

Idk there is so much scope and I feel its not lack of talent. We are missing some pieces, the middlemen. The behind the scenes teams who excel at PR/media relations/networking/marketing etc

Did anyone watch Pani Jesa Pyar? Dramas of that era were intense!

This drama was intense and it somehow stayed with me lol. Dramas in the 2010-2013 were intense and I think that was such a good era for PTV! I have so many favorites from that time.

On another note, did anyone else know that Mikaal Zulfiqar is half white? I had no idea that his mother is British. He is a good looking guy, I wonder why he never remarried or was linked with anyone in the industry after getting divorced like 10 years ago.

I think I get the problem with Logan

Throughout my rewatches I have loved Jess and Rory's insane chemistry and veen strongly team Jess. However I have appreciated moments when Dean and Rory complimented each other too and they had interesting dynamics.

However I have always found Logan so uninteresting and his and Rory's relationship bores me. I have wondered why this is because the actor is talented and has charming looks too. Now I understand its because we were able to explore Dean and Jess' personalities beyond Rory. You see them interact with various townspeople and they have storylines beyond Rory.

Logan however does not. We are just not invested in Logan's world and frankly we don't know much about his personality beyond spoilt rich boy with reckless behavior but knows how to be charming etc. I wish Logan had some interesting storylines because their relationship is the longest (on and off) in the GG universe and we could feel more attached to him as a character. There was so much room to do more with his arc and not have completely out of the blue storylines like April thrown in. I feel so bored by Logan and Rory and I know its not the actor's fault.

I have a family member with a successful business who I have been working with since I graduated almost 2 years ago. She genuinely wants to sponsor me for a 482 as the company has liked all the projects I have worked on so far. Has anyone faced a work visa refusal due to family ties? I am not finding concrete info about this online.

(Edit: The company is owned by my maternal aunt/mother's sister)

Hello. I am planning a family BBQ outing with families of a bunch of children I teach. Any suggestions for the best parks or locations to BBQ? It would have to be a place that permits BBQs. It would be great if the place has a play structure or just kid friendly in general. Thanks!

I am absolutely aware that her acting skills have their limitations. However I can truly imagine her dazzling cameras, catching attention during promotional photoshoots, press junkets and red carpets, repping and highlighting Pakistan wholeheartedly and absolutely shining in her own right while standing toe to toe with Hollywood names.

I don't mean to put Hollywood on a pedestal but its absolutely the biggest and most international platform for an actor. I would love to see a homegrown Pakistani star have a Hollywood moment (similar to Mehwish/Fawad/Humayun) but actually make some waves even if its a smaller role and I definitely think Mahira is it!

I don't see this being talked about. I want people to be aware in case some of you are planning trips and vacations there and will be spending your money funding that economy anytime soon.

Obviously this has happened for years, I grew up in Dubai. However the current situation has escalated it like crazy. There are tons of other posts and videos on Instagram about this like huge groups of Pakistani shias being deported with all their assets and savings SEIZED. I will share some in the comments.
