First range trip, comparison with my favorite 9mm, the DWX.
My 2 favorite pistols are the 1911 and CZ 75. I have owned and competed with both for years. A few years ago when the DWX dropped I was an early adopter. The DWX has been amazing. Great trigger, plenty of weight, very reliable. It’s the easiest shooting 9mm I have handled.
Until today. My GTO came last weekend and I finally got the optic mounted and was able to shoot it today. With 150gr Syntech it is a very, very fast gun. The trigger is not as good as the DWX, bit it is manageable. Fantastic pistol!
Currently printing the V’Ork’us terrain by Fabricator’s Lair. Does this read as proper Orky?
I couldn’t help it.
I was at a local gun store yesterday doing a transfer on another handgun and I saw this on the sale table for the cheapest price I have seen locally in a while. My wife saw it too. I have been shooting CZ’s for 20 years and competed for quite a while with an original CZ Custom Shadow. My wife has a matte stainless 75 that lives in the nightstand. She picked the pistol up and liked it. She proceeded to pick it up 3 more times in 5 minutes. I still have an old SP-01 Shadow and an OR Shadow 2, but I have wanted a compact since they came out. Since my wife liked it, I figured I didn’t have a choice in the matter. Debating optic choices now.
And so it begins
I still remember shooting a 2011 type for the first time in 1997, an Open race gun in .38 Super. I've flirted with them many times but have never gone through with it. Last week I ordered this GTO off of the SIg website through ExpertVoice. Got it yesterday. It may be a few days before I can get to the range. Going to have a Holosun 507 Comp and Lok grips on it before too long.
Just getting started and wanted to have a unique “kit” for Kill Team. Printed token and nesting inserts for a Plano 3-28 box. Probably serious overkill.
This little two stamp takedown rig is way more fun than it has a right to be
It started life as a Charger takedown pistol. Put in a Magpul stock with optic mount and a Holosun pistol sight, a TacSol barrel, BX trigger, and various Kidd and TacSol receiver parts. Can is a OCL Ti K. Small, light, and fits into almost any backpack.
Seriously torn right now.
I am not doing much competition shooting these days, but I used to be very active in my local Steel Challenge, USPSA and outlaw 3-Gun matches. I shot primarily a CZ Shadow but also a CZ Custom CTS and an Ed Brown 1911 in Single Stack. My main 3 gun rifle was assembled from an Aero FDE upper and lower. I call it “50 Shades of Tan”. I have lusted after 2011’s since shooting an SVI open gun in the late 90’s.
I have an M18 and a bunch of mags. Not going to open that can of worms, but to me the gun is now a paperweight. I am not a huge Sig fanboy, but the GTO ticks a lot of boxes for me. Currently waffling between a black standard or a combat to better match the rifle. :) Regardless of which one, I would plan on deleting the Series 80 parts.
I have a Dan Wesson DWX, does a GTO really buy me much? Note that I may shoot a comp here or there, but these guns are primarily range toys now.
First mini WIP. For Kill Team.
The faction picker on WH40k pointed me at Dark Angels. So here I am.
A second take on a terrain piece.
I printed and painted the first one a couple weeks ago. I was ok with it but wanted it a bit more in the grey range than brown. So I printed another. Started painting it today (second pick). I wanted the carved skulls and a couple other bits to pop so I used a rub-on metallic wax in a bronze-green tone. The third pic shows the result. Thoughts? Planning on a brown or black wash after.
Printing and painting some Warhammer industrial terrain.
Working on some industrial terrain pieces.

First pic is after printing, black primer than a medium grey Zenithal and 2 shades of tan craft paint. Wasn’t completely happy. Second pic is after a very liberal application of homemade black wash. Much happier now.
Current work in progress. Not sure I am in love with the tan/brown.
I have no words.
This may be the most Invicta Ball watch I have ever seen.
Really happy with how these doors turned out.
