Jack Cooper (Titanfall) replaces Shinji Ikari (Evangelion) how far does he go?

Rules: Jack gets Eva unit 01 where by some miracle he can synchronize with it alongside its special abilities as well as his standard gear he gets from the start of Titanfall 2’s story mode as well as BT implanted into his helmet giving him advice as well as monitoring him and his time travel ability. Jack must fight every battle that Shinji does but in character

Story: Jack gets sent to NERV to be a pilot for Eva unit 01. He is told that the Frontier Militia partnered with NERV and NERV needed a new pilot so Jack was sent. However in typical Evangelion fashion things aren’t what they seem

Of the five main saints who is best written in your opinion?

I know this question is probably basic but I wanna see what you guys consider the best written of the five main saints.

In my opinion I’d rank them like this (and this is hard too because in terms of writing at least for me they’re very on par with each other for the most part)

  1. Seiya, he’s is so basic that all his writing feels generic

  2. Hyoga, despite him being my favorite of them the one thing that keeps him from being higher is the fact he feels really underutilized. Like he feels like he gets five seconds to shine then gets soloed, and at the moment where he does get some of the best moments in the series (though I might be biased since he’s my favorite)

  3. Shiryu, he’s the definition of a good friend. He definitely has the best fights and second best hype moments but overall that’s where I think he stops. Yes he’s the calmest but I think Shun and Ikki are better in terms of writing.

  4. Shun, the one thing that Shun has that makes him so well is his pacifism. The fact he is a pacifist created moments where he had to work around the fact he’s afraid to hurt others that would challenge his view.

  5. Ikki, seeing him go from villain to hero on top of being the lone wolf member that cares deeply easily made him best written. He has the best development and the best hype moments on top of being the most complex member of the Bronze Saints.

But that’s what I think. Of course this is not going by personal enjoyment because if that was the case it would be Hyoga>Ikki>Shun>Shiryu>Seiya for me but I wanna see what you guys think

▲ 204 r/JRPG

Forget remakes, what are some JRPGs you just wish were more accessible for modern fans?

Now as a jrpg player, I’ll be the first to admit the older ones are the better ones more times than not. But the thing with that is (and I can throw even more games than just jrpgs in here too) older games require a lot of weird copyright rules to get them out on a modern system hence why there’s a ton of games missing. But anyhow here’s my list

  1. Xenogears, come on what else belongs here? I don’t even have to explain this

  2. Persona 1&2 Duology, funny how Atlus just refuses to acknowledge these good games despite everyone wanting them

  3. Shin Megami Tensei 4 Duology, I love my 3DS but this needs to be on a modern system where it’s easily accessible

  4. Chrono Trigger, outside of pc there’s no way to play it on a modern system. Which is odd considering how popular it is here (seriously I like many others glaze this game hard and to see it not on a modern system is beyond my understanding).

  5. Vagrant Story, same thing as Xenogears

What are some popular games you didn’t love?

Generally I love outstanding games of all kinds. I have. A very diverse list. But here are some I just didn’t love

  1. Hollow Knight: I don’t get it. I think honestly it does more wrong than right. It’s just okay to me and I don’t find it challenging in the boss sense and rather tedious

  2. Shadow of the Colossus: I don’t get this game either. I think it sucks badly. It’s so repetitive and boring. The atmosphere is just not good what it’s supposed to do. The story sucks. And yet people praise this game like their lives depend on it. To me it’s bad.

  3. Gears of War: I despise Gears of War. The whole franchise. It’s terrible. Oh it’s terrible. I don’t even wanna get into how much I hate Gears as a series. So I’ll leave it right here

  4. Demon’s Souls: I tried to love this. I just couldn’t. It didn’t age well at all.

  5. Postal: To me it felt so average and reminded me of the type of game someone unstable would play and then shoot up a public place like a school or a mall. When I do play Postal it’s just so average even without that thought in mind.

  6. Mortal Kombat X: What does everyone see in this game? Like genuinely what does everyone see? It’s terrible. The whole franchise sucks. But this game embodies why Mortal Kombat needs a better developer considering how easy it is to get stomped and stomp someone. Too casual and too focused on blood it forgets it’s supposed to be a fight before a kill.
