Deer antler scales

Hello, I'm up late and I am wondering: How dificult would it be to DIY my own SAK scales out of deer antlers? My plan is to take up hunting and spending more time in the woods, I carry a Swiss Champ and I've been loving it since I got it like a month ago and if I stumble across any discarded deer antlers, and or if I take down a deer some day, I'd love to make actual antler scales for my SAK.

How dificult would that be? Have any of you ever done this? And if so, how did you go about doing it?

If anyone has any suggestions, questions or general tips, I'd love to hear them!

I got it!!

I got a Swiss Champ for dirt cheap! My mate offered it to me for 30€ even after I told him they're sold for 80+, it came with a cracked scale (the onw with the logo inlay), so I cannibalised my Camper for it and after changing the 2 scales, the one from the camper doesn't sit flush... Any idea on how to fix this? I stood on it with my heel on the rivits like a comment on a post with a similar issue suggested, I don't have a vice, I'll try pliers next, I will use a towel in between the sak and jaws. Any suggestions are welcome!

Can WD-40 be used insteadbof dedicated oil to oil joints?

This is probably a pretty obvious answer, but I'd like to avoid, if there are any, downsides maintaining a SAK with WD-40

A little stool/chair I made

Don't know of this belongs here since it's made out of nails and old processed wood, but it was made 'in the bush' we have a small 28m² cabin with no internet or electricity, water from a creek and a gas stove and fridge. We replaced the roof and now have a big pile of old and dry planks and boards so I decided to make a little stool/chair out of em for whittling and what not.

What do y'all think?

Do y'all put lanyards on your multitools?

Thinking of making a lanyard for my new multitool, don't know if that's common practice though.

Simple paracord bracelet

Hope this counts

Tutorial: BoredParacord on YouTube

How useful do you guys think a paracord bracelet is? I personally just made it because it looks cool and in case I ever need paracord it'll be there. Bought a spool of paracord for camping uses and decided to make one. The bracelet is adjustable but do y'all think a clip would be better?

The M2 Brownings at the CDC

Why didn't the Atlanta gang take any weapons, like the heavy machine guns at the CDC, from the abandoned military instalations on their journey?

I guess they don't know how to opperate them but they could've taught themselves right? Plus crates of ammo would probably also be near by.

I don't know where else to post this, does anybody know if this is dangerous to keep?

I am currently working in a steel heat treating plant and found this on the floor, I know it's a bullet but I am not sure of the metal that it's made out of. Is it dangerous to keep, even if it is made out of lead? I'm afraid that if I keep it, I'll get lead poisoning.

I was also thinking of keeping it and making a necklace out of it, or just keeping it as a display piece. I don't want to get poisoned though.

If anybody knows anything about this, or a better place to post this, please let me know.

IT HAS BEEN ANSWERED. Plus to all the people thinking this is 'rage bait' and don't believe I don't know jack about metal, I work there part time as a highschool student, I get paid to straighten out and sort screws -___-

Inneed a rifle to fit my character

I don't focus much on PVP on multi. servers, I tend to just build a 2x2 and farm tomatoes since that's a part of my characters story, since I tend to play like that.

I just don't know what weapon would fit me though, I tried the Hawkhound and Schofield, and the Bluntforce and Masterkey, all felt alright, the shotguns were amazing against people, but rifles fit the character more. Now I opted with the makeshift spruce rifle, since the damage is better than the 2 rifles and the ammo is easier to obtain.

I'm going for like a hunter/farmer mix type of character, what weapon would you suggest?

Is pine good for woodcarving?

My sister gave me a pine plank, which I now don't know what to do with. Was thinking of cutting it up into smaller pieces and trying to carve something out of each one, is that a good idea?

This post is just about my observation and to gather more opinions on the matter, hopefuly y'all understand 😅 I might be completly wrong but like I said, that's what I noticed while being here.

I've been in this sub for about a month now I think, and I can't help but notice the divide of people here. Of course, what unites us is the respect for and appretiation of Vic. SAKs, but the noticable devide of people remains. I'm of course talking about people who really USE their tools, and people who collect them.

To be clear, I do not find anything wrong with either of the groups, since people spend money to support a brand we all love, but I am wondering what peoples opinions are about how other people use and treat their tools.

I myself am more on the users side, but I do like to maintain my Camper with regular sharpening and cleaning and I will replace the scales as soon as the factory ones crack or get more damaged than scratches.

Tl;dr: What do you think about people collecting SAKs and not really using them, and the other way around

Edit: spelling
