ZX Spectrum Best Joystick?

ZX Spectrum Best Joystick?

Hi guys, what’s the best (or your favourite) joystick or controller for your speccy? I have a couple of originals that aren’t the best to say the least, and a Cheatah 125+ (pictured) that works great with C64 but has strange inputs when plugged in to the speccy!

Any memories of these 8-bit arcade ports?

Outrun for the Commodore 64, midnight resistance for the ZX spectrum, special criminal investigations for the master system, all picked up recently. I have never played any of these three games on these systems, any memories?

Evercade Colour Change?

Notice Team 17 Collection has a different shade than the others. It was bought brand new from Amazon earlier this month so I can rule out sun fade as a likely cause. I don’t really mind that much, I just found it interesting enough share! Has anyone else come across anything like it?

Speccy Games Added

Adding a few more speccy games to my shelf, I’m particularly excited to play Flying Shark, and intrigued by A View To A Kill. Any memories here?

Happy Birthday, Amiga CD32

I still think of Amiga as being inseparable from Commodore, and I really hope they find their way back to each other soon. In honor of the anniversary of its UK launch, 17th September 1993, we’re celebrating this legendary hardware by playing its most iconic titles—The Lotus Trilogy. I’m only sorry that most of my American chums never got their hands on the Amiga CD32 for themselves at that time.

Those Loading Screens Though

This is as far as I got with my speccy session tonight, the loading screens! The keyboard and joystick are not functional, that is to say the Return and Break buttons work. But at least games loaded.

Ghosts N Goblins on the C16

Yes, there really is a port of Capcom’s Ghosts N Goblins on the Commodore 16. Elite ported the game, not Capcom. It won’t be anyone’s favourite version but it’s playable, and fun to learn about.

1943

Loading games from cassette still has that special feeling.

The C64U works great with the 1530 Datasette Unit and the Cheatah 125+.

Commodore deserves a lot of respect for what they are doing.

Cex Felixstowe Closed

Only found out today. I’m sad because it was a highlight in an otherwise dead town centre. I’m worried for Thetford store and others now.

Sega Megadrive Boxed Collection

Hi guys, I just wanted to show off my boxed Megadrive collection. I see them as works of art, which is how I justify how much 90s cardboard costs to my wife! There’s a few bits that I want to get, including a Mega CD1 box. I guess I became a box collector too!

My Arcade Marquee Signs to

Hi guys, I just wanted to share with you my three Arcade Marquee signs.

They are made from Perspex and after I cleaned years of filth off them, I was able to hang with extra large command strips.

They cost me about the same price of a poster and nice frame.

This is what I have and approximate dates. They are not reproductions and came from
arcades in the north of England:

  1. Daytona USA (1994)
  2. Mario Kart GP (2005)
  3. Scud Race (1996)

Switch, Sega’s Spiritual Successor

Well, I never thought I would be posting about a Nintendo console in a Sega sub! But I’ve never much cared for Nintendo’s IP’s anyway. I genuinely believe that this is the best console that Sega never made and what’s more it feels great to be putting in physical carts.
