IDEA for the reward for the final boss of the game.

Instead of a weapon, why not (if its possible) a portal that sends you to your own little pocket dimension that you can shape however you wanted. Turn it into you own magic tower, a shrine for your divinity, a cozy cottage, a shadow dimension for your captives, or a labyrinth with a boss chasing away any intruders.

All npc's that spawn in your pocket dimension are friendly to you, while you can choose whether or not they are aggressive to players you invite over.

The portal can be placed and removed easily and returns to the player once removed, no matter the distance. Think of it as an ability rather than an item.

Think of it as an extension of the game crafting mechanics after most people finish the game.

Do y'all think that marathon can make a comeback? (not hate bait)

Im a D1 beta to a D2 final shape player so I know bungie has the capacity to get out of this mess. However, Destiny's worst moment was a better situation than Marathons current predicament.

The issue with marathon (besides things outside the game) is that it's an awesome game that appeals to a small percentage of the market.

Do you think Marathon has any odds of becoming successful before any damning decisions are made by Sony?

I still dont understand the reason how an avowed 2 got greenlit instead of a pillars of eternity 3.

especially with how CRPGs are making a comeback with BG3 and Rogue Trader doing awesome in the industry.

XBOX!!!! Do you want a BG3-like exclusive to your brand? Ya'll had the perfect opportunity.

Would you still consider classless progression system as a unique feature to first person RPG's nowadays?

The reason why I asked this is because of a specific reason.

I was wondering if I should play avowed, so I went to their trailers and interviews. One of the things that was said in the interview went along the lines of "what makes avowed unique was its combat and CLASSLESS progression". Then it occurred to me that RPG's , especially FP-RPG's, without a class system isnt really unique or innovative anymore. If anything, a first person RPG that tackles how to implement a class system is way more unique nowadays.

The biggest worry I have for the next obsidian fallout title is the writing.

I know that they are bringing back a bunch of the devs from fallout NV but if you look at their most recent games, the writing is way worse than Obsidians older games like Pillars of Eternity or fallout NV.

everything else is fine to great with some outliers here or there, but they need to show that their writing (above all else) is still good enough.

Anyone else feel like this new fallout game will be obsidian chance to show they are worth keeping?

I mean since the acquisition of Obsidian theyve made Pentiment (great game but underperformed), grounded (great game that did well), Avowed (a poor expensive game that underperformed), Grounded 2 (a great game that is unfinished), and outer worlds 2 (a VERY EXPENSIVE game that underperformed).

Obsidian is in yellow territory since more than half of their games have underperformed since the acquisition.

If the next fallout underperforms, I fear that game will be the studios last.

They took away the timed payload from the True Proficy hand cannon

Sad Face

dang, its signature perk was taken out of its perk pool. For the longest time True Proficy was the only hand cannon with timed payload

One concept Ive always wanted for a main character of a fallout game

I wish we got a game where we play as the bad guy but we have amnesia. We are part of the company that made the vaults and we are put in cryo-chambers until a specific point. Our Vault is a vault with all the seeds, and we were supposed to be the saviors of the wasteland, turning the residents of the wasteland into our slaves. One small issue, the guy to start all this (the player) wakes up and for some reason he/she cant remember as single thing except for his/her language and name. The entire game is about trying to find fertile soil for farmland and as the player levels up, more and more cutscenes/playable backstories about the past show up. There will be several endings where 90 percent of them end with a failure to grow crops and in those stories, the stories breakdown and become separate storylines like a revenge plot or an adventure to take over the area and become the new ruler of the wasteland, etc. etc.

Do y'all think ESVI has a chance to be a massive hit in the current market?

Back when Skyrim came out, there was very little competition, Elder Scrolls practically had a monopoly. Also, some would say Skyrim was Bethesda's best before the decline in quality in their games.

However, nowadays there is a game that moves the medium forward in pretty much every genre Elder Scrolls is in.

Open world first person and third person RPG? Tainted Grail.

Story driven RPG with a plethora of side quests? The Witcher 3/ Cyberpunk

Open world fantasy sandbox game: Crimson Desert

The list goes on and on.

If starfield is any indicator on Bethesda's current state, do you think ESVI has a chance?

I had this Idea for a Skill Tree system and I wanted yall's input.

Why not a Skill Tree where the initial skill lvl up climb is simple, but there are modifiers (runes) you can find and craft to make a build specific to what the player wants.

Lets say someone wants to make a swordsman summoner. First, they can level up their sword skill through just using a sword in combat and as the player levels up, their swings are faster, their blade starts doing bleed damage, and their weapon range gets longer. while they are leveling up their sword skills they find a rune blueprint in a dungeon. this rune summons a crow to attack for you after you kill 5 enemies. You can customize the rune to do more damage, spawn more crows, spread a plague from an attack, etc. by finding rare materials to enhance the rune. Also you can have more than one rune on a character. The runes appear on the body of the players character and you can choose where they appear or choose for them to not appear at all.

simple leveling with endgame build crafting.

Honest opinion: looks great, but with one concern (based off of the trailer)

I really like the way that this is going. I am a person who played splitgate before it blew up and I loved every second of it. I also played splitgate 2 and while I did love it, I also agreed with a lot of the criticisms for the game.

This game looks great gameplay and gunplay wise but the artstyle looks rough (this game is still in alpha so I can see the artstyle improving over time). I don't think anything looks bad, but the map that they showed off looked unfinished.

I feel like when DE does pride month it feels like they actually care as opposed to other companies that just do it for publicity. is that weird?

an example of a company that feels like they dont care:

(I know this is a hot topic at the moment) I am a warframe and a Destiny player, one of my biggest criticisms of Destiny 2 was how they tackled homosexuality (I usually dont care about these things but Bungie just did something really dumb). when bungie introduced a gay character, they shoved him off to the side, so nobody had to see him. Bungie then comes out and said that was bad move on their part and it felt like they were just checking boxes. So what do the do to remedy that? do the make devrim (the gay character) a more central part of the story? no. Do they introduce a new character that is LGBTQ? no. What they did was retcon two characters that were BROTHERS and made them sleep together, thus MAKING IT FEEL LIKE THEY WERE CHECKING A BOX!!!!!

ever since then, any time bungie did something LGBTQ related, it felt hollow

DE, on the other hand, actually sounds like they care. Anytime they introduced an LGBTQ character it didn't feel out of place or forced.

If Bungie is forced to go back to D2 due to Marathons underperformance, Bungie needs to figure out a way to close the gap between the tutorial and one of the existing earlier expansions

Ideally it would be to bring back the red war campaign, but if by some miracle bungie ends up in this situation I doubt they would have the manpower to rebuild an entire base game back up with not just one destination but two destinations that needs to return.

the 2nd best option is to make the story connect with one of the earlier existing expansions like shadowkeep or beyond light.

I also think we should get vendors for some of the characters that just show up in future expansions and stories due how fracture the current story is. Like an eris vendor with objectives of hunting the hive and having hive themed rewards. or Ana Bray with some vex related objectives and some BrayTech rewards.

Also maybe add the mission where you can spare mithrax back into the game somehow.

If by some miracle Destiny 2 gets reinvested in, bungie (or whoever is in charge) needs to be careful with FOMO

FOMO was like cocaine to bungie, once they tried it, it was part of everything that they did. it got so out of hand that bungie had an overdose and is now in the ICU.

Bungie, you need to learn that FOMO shouldn't be used on most of the content in the game.

unpopular opinion: I never hated it when bungie would use old assets form previous locations in an expansion.

Bungie did this a lot in D1 and at the beginning of D2. It wouldnt just be a place people commonly go to in a destination, it would almost always be a part of the map that player hardly ever go towards.

I kind of enjoyed exploring places that players would normally not go to.

The biggest example that I think most people would remember is the first mission in curse of Osiris. The first mission didnt start on mercury, the first mission was in the EDZ near where players used to fish. At the end of the mission, you would find Segira's ghost shell (or was it Segira's energy?).

The expansion was bad, but I didnt hate exploring a part of the map that I never bothered to look into.

THANKS TO THE DEVS

As everyone knows, bungie has terrible executives (maybe even some are still there) but the devs who do the actual work to make the game deserve a round of applause.

THANKS TO ALL THE DEVS THAT WORKED ON DESTINY 2 (CURRENT AND PAST)
