Priming and painting metal handrail with rain possible tonight
Need to paint some metal handrails before we sell our house and between a toddler, a sick father, and...everything else, today's a rare opportunity to get things done.
After I spend some more time scraping rust and old paint, plan is one coat of Rustoleum primer and then two (?) coats of black Rustoleum https://imgur.com/a/xd3gPWx
Weather is beautiful in south Chicagoland right now, 75 degrees and sunny with 82% humidity (a little high, I know), but rain is possible later tonight. One model has rain here around 10pm, another has rain in the area before then. Will gain more clarity as the day goes on.
How much time would you give the primer to dry in these conditions before painting? If I start painting, how much time would it need before it's safe from rain?
THANK YOU!
