Did anyone collect the old Hudson’s City Sights buildings from 1998? Was there ever a Hudson’s Department Store building?

I’m looking for info that’s been lost to time. Back in 1998, Hudson’s, Marshall Field’s, and Dayton’s released a series of light up buildings for their respective cities/areas. For Hudson’s, there was Tiger Stadium, the Ren Cen, the Penobscot, the Grand Hotel, and the Fox Theatre. I had heard from a few collectors over the years that there was also a Hudson’s, but I’ve never found proof of it. It would make sense as the same line included a Marshall Field store. But as far as I know, there is no definitive list online of the buildings.

I wanted to ask if any one of my fellow Detroiters collected these back in the day and whether or not they collected a Hudson’s. If it does exist in your collection, I would love to see a photo of it as it is not readily findable on the internet.

Question about the Dayton/Hudson/Marshall Field City Sights Villages - did they ever make a Hudson’s Department store?

I’ve been trying to collect the Hudson’s City Sights Village pieces from 1998. These were Detroit building mates by Dayton Hudson who also made Chicago landmark buildings I know I’m missing the Fox Theatre, but I’ve also heard over the years that they also made a Hudson’s Department Store piece. It would make sense as I know they did a Marshall Field building.

I wanted to know if anyone knows if this is true. I have not been able to find any picture of it on the internet and as far as I know there’s no definitive list of the pieces they made. Does anyone know if Hudson’s exists and if it does exist, does anyone have a picture of it from their collection? This post includes a picture of my collection so far and a picture of the real Hudson’s Department Store for reference.

What’s better with a chili cheese dog than a giant ass onion ring?

TIL that the early automotive pioneer Byron Carter died from pneumonia contracted while recovering from a broken jaw sustained as a result of hand cranking his car. His death directly lead to the development of the electric self-starter for automobiles.

Trying to find out the name of the painting, likely by Bengt Åberg.

We just got this from a Buy Nothing group. It was listed by the previous owner as Bengt Åberg. I just wanted to know the name of this painting and I’m not good at searching for those things.

What one place can I go for lunch to get both great wings AND Beef on Weck.

Post title says it all. I’m going to be driving through your fair city on a Sunday on my way to the Baseball Hall of Fame. I’m planning on stopping for lunch to get some of your city’s favorite wings, but I am also traveling with my mother who does not eat wings or spicy food at all. I wanted to try and find a place that has both great wings for me and a good beef on weck for her. Do you have any recommendations for a single good restaurant that has both of those items?

I feel like I never hear people talk about how great Detroit’s baked potato scene is at Potato Place

Sometimes, you just need a big ass potato before you head a few blocks over to the DIA.

Sometimes you need a good, sloppy dog from Ben’s Chili Bowl in Washington, D.C.
