i said this last time and ill say it again: its near impossible to balance kolossos while trying to be faithful to the source material

kolossos was and still is meta in alot of games, yes even TDE if your teams dumb enough and your ping doesnt ragebait you

kolossos has alot of problems relating to balancing with the first one being:

  1. m1 dmg, hes simply just a m1 exe with 65 dmg for each m1 which got down scaled to around 50 in some games like OM with his 55 m1 dmg and SF with his 50 m1 dmg, getting hit once by this meant death after the other m1 or even after a charge if you where a tails or cream back in TD(or if you where slammed into the wall since in some games slamming would deal 10 extra dmg during charge meaning if he still did 65 dmg then a simple m1 + charge slam combo would be death)

  2. m1 range/funky hitbox, this really only applied to the specific hitbox games with him in it like TD, SF and every other TD recreation, his hitbox was on his spiked arm which seemed to make his swing worse right? nah its swung in such a way that you cant tell if its an over head hitbox or maybe a horizontal hitbox especially with SF since its reach was extra annoying with his biggest counter being turn to the left and hope he doesn't flick the m1 that way

  3. charge was simply a hit or miss as its high dmg but uncontrollability was always teetering on whats balancing and not with some giving him turning for it which gets mad annoying(cough cough OM) and SF with very and i mean VERY heavy turning like "captin turn right" ahh sensitivity, sometimes it would punish kolossos more than help or it would give kolossos an easy kill

  4. grab is also hard to balance as in TD it was an instant lms ender with no way of getting out unless the kolossos felt merciful or cocky and decided to throw you(i might be mistaken but that was added for recreations not the og game) but in OM it was just a fighting game hitbox where it would reach you from across the map both where annoying for survivors and i never seen a balanced version, hell SF kolossos dont even have that ability

  5. block is....actually block is fine since it was a punish ability that could punish you if you got baited

in a whole an exe that had an m1 that did 65 dmg, has a long and weird m1 hitbox, had an instant lms ender, has an ability to cancel your only self defense move, has a move that could drag you away from your team into the corner of doom and despair is hard to balance WHO KNEW???

why does prototype seem so lack luster compared to other survivors?

seriously theirs a survivor with their own m1 and yet prototype is just kinda eh, yknow the OM amy of the group

yes hes an all rounder but hes not really that decent at anything, especially keeping himself alive for that matter

yes he can speed boost you but when he tries it than he just dies bc of the slowness hurts him more than the speed boost

yes he can make you be able to jump longer safely gaining stamina but when he does it he has to get hit to have the ability work and doesn't even get the floating effect

yes he can regen hp during chase but....dawg its like 5 hp for an entire battery both ways

either its that or he has such a high skill ceiling that youll only see dedicated people play him, ive been meaning to try him out but im alittle low on points after buying crashdummy and the "you are an idiot" skin(i like the lms)

what would be your way of making roflpix more helpful to the team once gens are done(idk what to put as a picture or video so yeah its unrelated)

i got no clue, like maybe a flashbang when highlighting a terminator but then again id rather not have 8 roflpix flash bang me every 3 seconds and keep doing it since their battery wont go down

maybe movement opportunity could stun by ragdolling you and the terminator for like 0.5-1 seconds and would refund some battery but it would be put on a longer cd or something like that

what would be a small detail you would add to your hypothetical TD inspired game?

a thing outtaik did with his game was small or easily unnoticeable details that made the experience so much better during a round

this was stuff like:

red rings sprinkled around the map, you may never run into them but when you do then its shown as kinda like a trade off with you gaining a speed boost from it while taking dmg and having covered vision, this wasn't stappled onto an exe and was placed randomly all over the map no matter the exe

also dead bodies when not choosing survivors in a round, this got rid of continuity errors of having 2 of the same survivors and made the round ever so immersion, this also wasnt just for one thing and had bodies all around different maps

stuff spcific to maps like:

not perfects bumpers being able to knock you back alittle(NOT ragdolling you, fuck them bumpers in OM) and the mid way map change where you need to exit the special stage or youll slowly die, this teleports you to a way smaller map

ycr saws that would stun exes and dmg survivors when touching them(also if eggman isnt in the round, he opens up the exit door during the final 80)

hide n seek act 2's echo's added to the immersion

bases camera system and laser doors but with a secret one with in it which happens when going into a room with animals in tubes and a saw positioned above a table, this changes the music to this alarm type sound and turns the screen a hue of red(i never knew why they added that, maybe something with kolossos since hes mutated?)

kind and fairs power outage where you need to interact with the breakers to turn the lights back on

something i would want to add would be tiny lore pieces for the rounds since i would want to keep outaiks alternate timelines, each round would have its own tiny lore either found in the round(you can read it in the lobby) or winning the round like if eggman and kolossos are both on the base map then there would be a lore piece about how sonic was experimented on by eggman but it killed him instead of making him loyal to eggman, eggman put him in a tube with the rest of them until a demon possessed the experimented corpse or a different one where tails isnt in the round and tails doll is there(map cant have a tails corpse in it) where eggman used tails corpse to "upgrade" tailsdoll but tails came back as a vengeful ghost possessing tailsdoll and going after mobians out of blind rage(LAAAARRPPPP LARP ALERT)

was having the time of my life during that, this is alot better than having 11 exes and 2 survivors since its a challenge and not who can get the kill first like starving street animals

i wish spectral fades would have an exe limit, i say exe limit, not minion limit bc its funny seeing those little guys jump a survivor, i would say atleast half of the current survivor count is but then again itd be more better to lock my goat big k behind a limit bc no matter what game hes in, he always ends up being meta either forever or for a certain time

we now present: eggmans (totally not a shitpost) gameplay in spectral fades

yeah its just my gameplay with sounds over it

it took really long for such a simple video tho since i only had some audio files from my last video like this so searching and double checking to see if i could download more sfx without getting a virus on top of positioning sfx in the right spots and the fuck ass thunder storm thats been randomly causing power outages almost 4 times while making this

id also want to say that i love how the devs handled eggman even if they might change them in the future, a good idea for the change would be to have his jetpack mode switch also switch his shock to maybe his zapper which is just like his normal TD zapper and the downside would be that both shock and zapper share a cd just like his jetpack

so sonic is a dev excusive in this game and oddly enough seems kinda balanced since it is just shadow but with chaos spear replaced with a 4ish second speed boost ability

i kinda dont understand the point of emotes specifically for exes

what i mean is the toxicity of using emotes

this has been a thing ever since the laugh ability was added to TD with exes laughing on your corpse all the way to exe emoting on your corpse in OM

i can see a kinda good reason for survivors since at the start of the round n such but for exes ive rarely used it since the only ideas for emoting would be toxicity and being a friendly exe which we know thats also against the rules

its even more apparent in OM with the kolossos laugh and hell even the eggman laugh, its just not that subtle

im not sure if someone has gotten a warning or even banned from the game for emoting but with the normal "no toxicity" rule it always seemed like it could happen

its really only an emote but you know how salty and petty some people can be online

im not saying they should remove it but i just need a reason to why they would add emotes if their was a high chance that people would be toxic with it

maybe thats below the bare minimum for toxicity is emoting on someone, so if you report it then nothing would happen
