Explaining you're burnout to people.

Does anyone appear to be doing fine on the outside but struggling on the inside? This is how some of my friends see me and that I'm just taking a break as I have resigned from work with no job. I find it hard to explain the gravity of the situation because it has all hit at once. It isn't work that was the only stressor but also a breakup where my ex and I have still been speaking on and off. Now we are in no contact but every time we speak it is like a second break up. How have you gone about explaining that you're very burntout and one or two months break may not do it? I am going through more than burnout and am seeing a psych but I don't want to inform people of absolutely everything, burnout is enough. Keen to hear what you've said and how you've dealt with it.

Medical Certificate

I'm trying to apply for an exemption but my Dr is making it difficult for this to happen. I have a letter from my psychologist and she has also diagnosed me. As I have only started seeing her, my Dr is skeptical that she was able to diagnose me so quickly and how severe my issues are. I left a job without another due to burnout. Burnout is not the only thing I'm dealing with but he thinks that as the work stressor has been removed I'm fine to work in a more junior role. I don't cry much but ended up doing so in my consult to which he did not ask if I was ok just watched with popcorn type of vibe. I find it hard to function but he has mentioned people he has signed off for have had more severe levels of medical conditions. Has anyone run into this issue? This is a legitimate thing I'm struggling with.

Edit: he has mentioned if I have severe symptoms of what my psych has diagnosed then he would be obliged on the form to write things like anti-dep (I have made it clear I don't need and want to take these) & seeing a psychiatrist. I think this is over the top.

Diagnosis time

Hey I was curious to know how long would it take for a psych to realistically diagnose someone with GAD and MDD including the severity of this? Someone I know had a diagnosis within a few sessions. They discussed it with their Dr who found it hard to believe it was possible, almost not believing it as they presented to be 'normal'. However, they had just come out of burnout from their last job which they resigned from with no job. Curious about this.

Dr thinks I'm employable after under 1 mth of leaving a job that caused burnout as did the job prior.

I went to the Dr today for various things and we discussed my mental health and employment moving forward. I've resigned less than a month ago and I'm still recovering from not only burnout but other issues. He is of the view that one stressor (work) has been taken away and that this should help a lot and I should be employable and now able to work just because I feel comparatively better than prior. I have not properly processed my breakup earlier in the year and have been stress eating. I hardly cry but did today and he didn't ask if I was okay. We're both pretty direct people but today I just wasn't in that mindset.

I present like I am fine everywhere out of habit but inside it is a lot and I'm struggling. I can't imagine anything worse than working at the moment. I am doing therapy and he was surprised a diagnosis could be made in a few sessions. Just very confused by this behaviour as I've been seeing this Dr for 15 years at least and he has never been like this. Has anyone else had this experience with a Dr, basically downplaying or in a similar situation where you have resigned with no job?

Shapewear leotard recommendations?

Hey all! I'm going to a rave but beforehand lots of eating so I'll def be bloated. Any recommendations for rave friendly shapewear that actually looks like a top and is comfortable? Wearing it with a skirt.

Rave outfits

Hey everyone just wondering where you recommend getting either sets or skirts? Something that would be flattering on curvy and hourglass. I need something that is bloating friendly and not too short because things just ride up but still flattering! All suggestions appreciated.

Who left a job without another job lined up due to burnout? How long did it take you to come to the decision and what were some of the motivating factors?

Burnout, amicable break up and now everything's catching up with me.

I didn't think I'd be writing this (35F). I recently left a high-pressure job after burning out, it was very stressful. Expectations just kept climbing and I think work was masking how exhausted I was. I ended up putting weight on too and don't like how I look at the moment although this obviously won't be my permanent weight my clothes don't fit the eame. I want to make a career change which I will figure out in time. Earlier this year, I also had an amicable breakup due to a fundamental incompatibility. My ex and I have been communicating on and off which threw me off, but we are now no contact. There's still care there, but the future didn't line up. Now that the structure is gone, it feels like everything's hit at once.

I've always been high functioning and I'm pretty private. I'm good at acting like things are fine, but inside I'm struggling. My family and best friend know the extent of the situation, but I don't have the energy to talk it through with everyone. Lately, I've been sleeping a lot, but waking up feeling un-rested. I sleep in. Basic tasks feel heavy. I'm not doing nothing, but everything takes so much more effort than it used to. I'm not job hunting right now because I don't feel ready. I'm just trying to find my footing again. Has anyone else gone from being high-functioning to suddenly struggling once everything went quiet? What genuinely helped in those first few weeks or months? If you're comfortable sharing, how long did it take before things started to shift?

TL;DR: Left a high-pressure job after burnout, had an earlier amicable breakup due to an incompatibility and now that the structure's gone, everything's caught up. Struggling with energy and routine, not job hunting yet and will need to figure out a career change. What helped you?

Life after recruitment post resigning.

Just wondering if anyone moved completely out of the recruitment industry, not wanting to go back and next steps they took in their career? I've recently resigned and am done with recruitment which I have worked in for 5+ years. I've somehow always ended up with a cold desk/BD heavy roles and got sick or sales. I have burnt out, just wanted to know if anyone else had felt the same when working in rec.
