Antique 18k Tiffany & Co Diamond and Ruby encrusted pencil.

Late 1800s/Early 1900s most likely. Unfortunately the mechanism is jammed shut. I will take it to Tiffany one day to see if they can repair it.

1/4 of my chains.

We have way too much gold jewelry. This is about a quarter, stuff that's not in the safety deposit box. I threw some bracelets in there but I have about 25-30 bracelets not pictured as well. Probably 40-50 pendants too. Don't get me started on the rings and my wife's earrings.

How to insure my collection and where to store it?

My wife and I have been collecting gold jewelry since 2019 and we decided to weigh everything last week. Just melt value alone is over 200k. Most pieces would sell for over melt. I'm getting very anxious now. Not just of burglary, but fire is a huge fear of mine. I'm not quite sure if I should keep it in the home, or get a large safety deposit box. I have read the contents of a safety deposit box are not insurable.

How can I insure my jewelry, and where is the best place to store/hide it?

UPDATE: Got caught sinkpissing at work.

Original post: https://www.reddit.com/r/Sinkpissers/comments/1w3i220/got_caught_sinkpissing_at_work/

Sorry for the delayed update. I have been super busy. I was absolutely devastated the night that I got caught sinkpissing at work. Not gonna lie, I got really drunk thinking that I was totally fucked. I assumed I was going to be fired. I spent the following morning hungover reading the comments on my post, absolutely dreading the thought of skulking into the office. Then, it suddenly dawned on me. I read a comment someone left saying that I could say that I was pissing in a cup in the sink for a UTI test.

I sat there staring at my phone for a solid five minutes while the idea sank in. It was thin as hell, but it was something. Better than walking in with my head down ready to get axed. I cleaned myself up, put on some really nice clothes to give myself some pep in my step, and drove in.

I avoided eye contact with everyone and was barely at my desk for ten minutes before my manager appeared and said HR wanted to see me. My stomach dropped, but I forced myself to stay calm. The three of us sat in the little conference room. HR woman, my manager, and me. My heart was absolutely POUNDING! The HR cunt started soft, “We need to talk about the incident in the restroom yesterday…" I kind of tuned out because my mind was going a mile a minute but I vaguely recall hearing "hygiene" and "shared spaces".

I didn’t wait for them to finish framing it. I looked them both in the eye and said, “I understand how it looked, and I’m extremely embarassed it happened. I had been dealing with symptoms while urinating and was collecting a sample in a cup for a UTI test my doctor ordered. The sink was the cleanest place to do it without making a mess. I thought I had locked the door. Clearly I didn’t, and that was my mistake.”

I could feel that they definitely preferred this explanation over a simple sinkpiss. I literally saw the HR woman's shoulders drop. This gave me the confidence I needed to press the issue even further.

I continued: "What I am more concerned about is that a coworker opened a closed bathroom door without knocking, walked in on me while I was in a private medical situation, and then stared. That feels like a serious invasion of privacy. I’m the one who was exposed. Then she immediately ran and told people? I was sent home. Why was I sent home?! I was so embarrassed that I left, but I should have been given a chance to explain myself! My coworker told everyone what I was doing in the bathroom, tarnished my name, and I was sent home without being asked my side of the story or any explanation." (This is all paraphrasing btw, I'm going off of memory but it's pretty close)

You could feel the air change. The tone had completely flipped. They told me there would be no disciplinary action against me. Instead, they said they would speak with the coworker about proper restroom etiquette and respecting closed doors. Later that afternoon I heard through the grapevine that she got a formal talk about privacy and boundaries. Basically a reprimand for creating a hostile situation by walking in unannounced and then reacting the way she did. She apparently was gossiping all day about how she caught me sinkpissing. With the way I framed the story now, she just came off as cruel.

I still feel a little embarrassed but honestly it's now a pretty funny story I'll have. I hope you all enjoyed the update. Again, sorry for the delay. I have a lot going on. This sinkpisser is in the process of closing on his first house, and my in-laws have been in town.

Got caught sinkpissing at work.

This morning I got caught pissing in the bathroom sink at work because I completely forgot to lock the door. Female coworker just opened the door right while I was mid-stream. When you open the door, the sink is to the left against the wall, so he saw my penis expelling urine into the sink. We locked eyes and the look on her face is burned into my brain. Her mouth dropped and she gasped, let go of the door and it closed automatically.

My male manager came up to me as I was heading back to my desk and told me I should go home for the day. He literally had my bag and computer ready to hand off to me, I guess to avoid seeing the girl who walked in on me since she sits close by.

Everything feels heavy. My chest is tight. I keep thinking about how one stupid, thoughtless second is about to follow me around this place forever or possibly cost me my career. Even if I'm not fired, I don’t know how I’m supposed to walk those halls after this. I feel disgusting. Embarrassed. Small. Just completely drained.

I keep telling myself it’s not the end of the world, but right now it sure as hell feels like it. No idea what to tell my wife.

Suffolk County CCW application question 46.

Question 46 states:

Do you now or have you ever tried, used, possessed or sold marijuana or its derivatives, narcotics, controlled substances, tranquilizers, or anti-depressant medication? YES  NO 

If any of these substances were prescribed by a doctor, provide doctor’s name, address, and phone number.

I briefly took Lexapro for around a month and a half in 2014, and was also prescribed Ativan back in 2017 or so. The doctor who prescribed me the Lexapro appears to have retired. Not sure what to put on the application? There's not much space at all to write anything.

Will this disqualify me? Kind of ridiculous considering it was a decade ago.

Belly button red and crusty for over a month.

My belly button has been red and crusty for over a month. It doesn't really inch or anything. If I remove the crust the bellybutton is just red and doesn't form new crust for like a week or so. I utried to use an antifungal but wasn't really consistent with it. Could it be staph or something?

How much will closing costs typically be for an all cash deal on a 645k home?

Hello. Seller recently accepted my offer for 645k on a home. I'm paying all cash and don't have a buyer's agent. Just curious about what I can expect for closing costs as I want to invest the remaining portion of my cash in the market ASAP. I'm seeing 8-15k and wondering if that's accurate and why it varies so much. This is in Suffolk County. Thanks!
