I winged a salsa and it sucked

Where did go wrong?

I had, and have, too many tomatoes from the garden. I also had a purple onion handy, and garden jalapeños. I got them all and scorched them on the grill. At first I was thinking, alright, this plus seasonings usually makes a solid pico so I will scorch it all, add the Seasonings and blitz it. So I dumped it all in the processor, added some lime juice, salt, pepper, neutral oil, garlic clove, and some Adobo seasoning and granulated chicken bouillon. It was good but it tasted more like a thick tomato soup.

I ended up using all of it for a one pot rotisserie chicken and bean stew recipe. Now THAT was delicious.

Today I realized I completely forgot to add cilantro too. Tips? EDIT: THANK YOU everyone. I'll take all these tips on my next attempt.

I cannot stand when restaurants give you the essence of sauce!

1lb of buffalo wings. I won't trash the place by naming them because they're always solid but for the weak saucing.

I'm loving how a lot of craft breweries are putting out easy-drinking lagers

Troeg's PA Lager has been my go-to for like 8 months. It's delicious and lower ABV. Perfect lawn beer. What are your favorite easy-drinking beers that are a step above our Dad's beer?

Role of caviar in these dishes or in general?

I've had this question for a while, and I'm hoping someone with more fine dining experience can explain it.

I notice that a lot of tasting menu dishes seem to end with a generous dollop of high end caviar on top. It'll be something like a beautiful piece of fish with a carefully constructed sauce, herbs, maybe some vegetables, and then a spoonful of caviar.

What role is the caviar actually playing?

Is it generally considered another ingredient that's meant to complement the dish? Is it intended to become the star of the bite? Or is it more of a luxury garnish that adds texture, salinity, and richness?

From my admittedly limited palate, I sometimes wonder if the caviar just ends up making the entire bite taste mostly like caviar, drowning out the nuances of everything underneath. I'm assuming there's more to it than that, or chefs wouldn't use it so often.

For those of you who have eaten a lot of Michelin level tasting menus, or work in restaurants, how do you think about caviar when it's used this way? What should I be paying attention to when I eat a dish like that? My star experience is limited to the newly-starred Friday Saturday Sunday in Philadelphia and there was no caviar on the menu that day. Edit: also truffle mushrooms

Hard Day's Night, 98 RT?!

I genuinely cannot believe this movie has a 98% on Rotten Tomatoes. I understand its historical significance. I understand Beatlemania. I understand it influenced music videos and countless films that came after it. None of that made it enjoyable to watch in 2026.

The plot is basically "The Beatles wander around while people yell at them." The dialogue sounds like four guys trying to out-random each other in an improv class. Every conversation made me feel like I was missing some secret decoder ring for 1960s British humor. If this is considered one of the funniest movies ever made, then apparently I speak the wrong version of English.

Yes, the songs are classics. But great songs don't magically turn 90 minutes of aimless chaos into a masterpiece. Historical importance and entertainment value are not the same thing.

I fully expect Beatles fans to tell me, "You just don't get it." You're probably right. I don't get how this is sitting at 98%. I can appreciate what it did for cinema while still thinking it was an absolute chore to sit through. Respect the legacy? Sure. Enjoy watching it? Not at all. The train scene feels like Snatch but terrible.

Cum with me of you want to live

Gay Terminator. Sent back in time to have gay sex. And that's it. You're still chased by T-1000 who wants to fuck you, who changes genders at will obviously.

S1E8 are you kidding me?

After a long week of PTO in a beach town with the family, I figured on the last night, after the kids and my wife had gone to bed, "Eh, sure... let's pick back up where we left off with The Pitt. Why not?"

Four trips to the bathroom later to wash my face, what a mess.

After spending a week trying to keep three kids under 7 safe around the water, that episode hit a whole lot harder than I expected. A hell of a way to jump back in.

Im expecting all the down votes but darn it I'm saying it

Wawa has the absolute worst coffee and if you like it, you're wrong. I'm not a coffee snob but come on, people. Be better than this. I know it does the job in a pinch and if you get a coffee that's practically a milkshake you don't care. But for my black coffee drinkers, have you tried coffee literally anywhere else besides a gas station?

I've already been here/done this. Why is this the only path open in WP?

Is this because POP is up there? I don't remember. I did the "easy" part of WP, met the King corpse, knocked him down and then woke up in Hidden Ststion again. This is the only door available

Finally. Finally, beat TMG

TMG and Traitor Lord take the cake for most deaths and, in turn, most charm variations. And everyone was right. By the time you do beat him, you've learned the moves enough that it does indeed feel like you danced the night away and you, dare I say, enjoy it. But F TL, I minioned him because he can go rot. Strength charms were used.

I got frustrated yesterday and tried the cheese trick on TMG, but that didn't work for me. Maybe because I was short that notch he gave (which videos led me to believe came after Trial of The Conqueror).

This new quest he gave kind of sucks though 😐 I started in distant village, hoping everyone would be so chill. I guess not. Can I go right to Howling Cliffs to end this, or do I need all the flames?

Bought the large pack of Wegman's cut wings. Not pictured are the 10 we ate already. Seasoned all with salt, garlic powder, paprika, and some baking powder. One half also got some all-purpose bbq rub. Convection baked at 400 until crispy.

Right - Black cherry habenero from Big Daddy's bbq in Folsom, PA

Left, hot sauce from Root's Cafe in West Chester, PA.

Need help finding old episode

Nick does a Matthew McConaughey impression, I'm gay im gay im gay. The thing I like about high school girls is, they turn into boys.

SOmeone tells a story about their shitty roommate or something who accidentially burned down their own apartment, that his dad owned. Ladies and gentlemen of the jury im just a gay ass fagot ass retard... Could be misremembering that one.

Platforming

I thought I hated it, but then did White Palace. I hated it at times during and had to reference a few YT guides. But getting to the King made it worth the struggle. I know I cheated a bit, but I'm a novice and gosh darn it, I'm glad I went through with it. I'm not doing POP though, or maybe...I have to go get 2400 and fight THK again anyway. We'll see.... It's kind of addictive.

I must have tried this fight 20+ times, planning charms, health build ups, posting, bitching, etc. and after a few days away, I just jumped in on a whim. Of course, the one time I won, I mistakenly still have my compass on and went in with mask health alone (no reserves).

We have 5 and 7 yo boys. Super Rabbit Boy joined our house this year, and they were fine at first, but the more we read to them at night, we're realizing they kind of...suck. Maybe a lesson or two in some of them, but anyway. What series do your kids like?
