Why do so many parents "force-raise" their children?

I know people are going to argue with this, but I don't care. This is a massive, deeply rooted issue that gets overlooked constantly. I'm posting this here because I just need to get it out.

I am 19 years old, born and raised in India. I can't speak for other countries, but I can speak for my own reality. From a very young age, I faced crushing pressure from my parents. I was beaten for unnecessary reasons.

Let's call it what it is: a complete lack of basic parenting knowledge and emotional control.

So many parents treat their children like a second chance at life. They try to force their kids to become the things they themselves failed to achieve. They are completely blind to what their children actually love, what they care about, and who they actually are. It might not be every single parent, but let's be honest it is almost all of them.

Good parenting isn't about control or fear. It's supposed to be about spending actual time with your kids. It's about playing with them, guiding them, and explaining why something is wrong with patience and love, instead of just resorting to hitting them. Kids need love, care, and a safe space, not a battlefield.

A final note to clarify: I love my parents. This post isn't meant to spread mindless hate toward parents or the concept of parenting. It is meant to scream out a truth that is constantly brushed under the rug. I am writing this to let everyone know that these things are being overlooked every single day, and to finally give a voice to the pain and pressure of many.

I genuinely hope and wish that every new parent cares about this, learns from it, and chooses to treat their children the way they truly deserve to be treated

I don't think this is the right sub for posting this and I'm not sharing the screenshot because it can surely can get me banned.

But it was not reels but the ads actually, doesn't instagram know what ads are shown on their platform? Idk how the ads work but I mean instagram is a widely used app and most underage people are living on it.

The thing i saw is an ad for a video chat app, and similar. Fully n*ked women, m*sturbation etc.. not only one ad, I saw like 3 ads in a short period of time. It was just 10 minutes before I'm posting this.

Does anyone have similar experience?
