Galaxy tab s9 users - is your experience affected after the OneUI 8.5 update?

I have a US based Galaxy Tab S9 - I did the OneUI 8.5 update and I feel my tab is suffering a lot coz of it

Battery drains quicker, scrolling in files and apps with thumbnails is just choppy, Missing galaxy AI feature to add images onto another image, General UI stutters and lag - slower app opening times, multitasking is botched - can't have more than 4 apps opened without it closing in the background unless I lock the app

It felt like a cheap Samsung right after the update and even the clear cache partition option is missing now

Galaxy app booster, ADB commands - nothing seem to help it

I'm not sure if I'm the only one suffering from this

2 years with my Omen (long term I guess)

Well it's been 2 years since I got this device and this is my experience

It's a 6800H 3070Ti (150W) omen

It has given me a fair share of - well - more issues than what it actually served be

Performance is peak - - had zero issues with it - whatever I throw at it - it eats it up and throws back the required result - I'd tell it's still relevant upto today's standards with frame gen mods in games - and even raw rasterization and Machine learning for that matter

Windows felt like the only bottleneck when it came to performance

Fans are loud yes - but I don't really mind it as long as it pumps that heat out - thermal paste replaced every 6-8 months - temps usually stay around 78-82c for the GPU running at 130W - can go as low as 74c if the weather/the room was cool

Never had any performance issues in games where the laptop throttled causing frame drops (With the exception of Until Dawn where the laptop shut down twice coz of the heat - it was a pretty hot day as well)

Really good display - I love how it's almost like an OLED display when autobrightness is enabled and the 165hz is just muah

Speakers are really horrible tbh - sure they are loud and uninstalling the proprietary drivers and installing standing Realtek drivers helped - but the speakers have no bass - mushy mids and very minimal highs - Phone speakers sound better in my opinion

Battery was really good at the start - I'd get 8 hours on any given day from 100-0 - it has degraded to 4-6 hours now considering the fact that it always stays plugged in - but hey - as long as it can support power cuts - I'm fine with it

Storage is fine - it uses a Micron SSD - which gets really hot upon use and starts throttling and the only thermal solution HP gave was a thermal pad attached to the chassis - cheap cost cutting by HP

Build quality - WORST the most fragile piece of electronic I've ever used in my life - the display flexes to just opening or closing the lid and the display wobbles even to the slightest breeze - heck my cheaper Asus notebook did not have such bad build quality

The keyboard flexes with the slightest of pressure applied on it

The mute button's light stopped working all of a sudden

One of the speakers started cracking at certain frequencies (mitigated to a certain level by uninstallinh HP drivers)

Cost cutting in the most diabolical places seen - the WiFi card is attached right below one of the heatpipes without any shielding provided to the WiFi/Bluetooth adaptor (waiting for the day it fails coz of the heat)

The Ram modules have no heatsink or even shielding provided - I've seen legions and ROGs come with a metal covering on the RAM modules

SSD has literally no cooling solution provided - even my old Asus had some kind of aluminium sheet attached on the SSD which kind of acts as a passive heatsink

**Now yea - speaking of the problems**

It's all with the build quality and the general quality of the parts and the whole laptop itself

Within 6 months of purchase I had an issue where connecting anything to the USB - C port would just crash the laptop and upon inspection - it was a rusted USB port?

I don't even live in an area where there's excessive moisture - it's always dry here and I don't get water or food around the laptop - the whole motherboard had to be changed for that which was done under warranty

8th month since purchase - the right hinge started clicking upon use - and while I tried to change it under warranty - HP instead replaced the keyboard stating that the rivets on the top part of the laptop were broken - - and in the process of fixing that - they broke the display and they ended up replacing that as well - but refused to fix the bezels they broke in the process and yea the lower bezel now collects dust which I have to clean often

They never replaced the hinges till the end - and yea it still clicks upon usage and my warranty ended - did not purchase extended warranty or ADP coz it costs almost 1/4th the price of the laptop (waiting for it to snap one day)

Now one of the display supporting brackets on the side of the laptop disintegrated on its own and half of it fell off

So yea it's technically a 1-1.5 year old laptop with its motherboard, keyboard, display being changed - but we call it 2 years

Despite the shitty build quality - id give it to HP for designing a lovely cooling system that does not fail even when the weather is harsh - the LOQs or Legions I've seen immediately hit 87c upon load and start throttling during load coz of the heat here

Hope the laptop lasts for another 4-5 years before something inevitably breaks

Some pictures taken on the phone(3)

I mean whoever complains than the phone(3) has mid or trash cameras - id just tell you have a serious skill issue

Infact all I needed to do was set a custom focus, set up a bit of lighting and some touch up in editing

u/Adalf_Hotler69420 — 3 days ago

Do all phone(3) have this weird thing at 50% brightness?

I don't think if I've noticed this before - coz I've not really used my phone in the dark properly - but today I noticed this weird thing where above 50% brightness it gets a weird green tint - or brightness jump (I can't really tell) - which vanished when brightness is below 50%

Should I claim my warranty?

Or is this a common thing with all the phone(3)s

I noticed this in the dark with any grey background

Please support this man - This might be our first step towards holding the government accountable for E20

This might be completely unrelated to this subreddit but the core issue is still the same - I feel with enough pressure if the govt. nudges this might be our first step towards setting a standard towards responsibility of the clown show they perform

This makes a new standard for accountability

All people need is reward - people refrain from getting involved coz they think it's of no use causing a vicious cycle of people not supporting enough to cause enough pressure leading to negative results

If we provide enough pressure and the government nudges people will find the incentive to criticise the government and yea issues related to ethanol can also be raised - but on a much larger scale

Please show as much as support as you can - whichever way possible

Oneplus buds 3 losing charge quickly

These buds are around 2 years old now and I'm losing chsrge faster than before

It used to last around 6 hours on a single charge (LDHC, 3D and ANC max)

Now I'm losing like 70-80% within 3 hours of use with the same usage and one bud seems to lose charge faster than the others

I'm quite new to owning TWS (I've only used headphones and my XB700 from 2020 still runs for 20 hours on a single charge) - I'm not sure if this behaviour is normal

Can the battery be replaced?

Can I prolong the life of these buds both usage wise and overall life coz I can't afford new buds atp

Here's a photoshoot of my phone(3)

Well - Thanks to all those who helped me come to a decision to buy the phone off Amazon for 42k (it was not preactivated)

It was pretty hard after losing the phone(1)

But hey, I'm loving the phone (3) so far - - 10-12 hours of SOT, stunning display, stunning camera, and ofc the software - love every bit of it

Was not a fan of the design at the start - but it grew over me and I'm loving it now

u/Adalf_Hotler69420 — 24 days ago

Has the latest update on the phone (3) fixed the network issues , overheating , and other issues yall faced?

Well I'm still on Nothing os 3.5 as the 4.0 update was buggy and the 4.1 update did not fix anything major

Give me your experiences

For the people with the green tint, crushed blacks and banding on the phone(3)

Guys so yea - the issue is prevalent and it's mostly not a hardware issue where a bad quality display is used

And can be fixed for the time by enabling "Disable HW overlay" in developer's settings

This has downsides on its own - higher battery usage and random stutters (your display is probably defective if this does not fix the green tint)

But the long term fix is flooding their feedback with this issue - I have sent them a feedback in the feedback settings and they seem to be ready to take in the suggestion - as they did not pull a Corporate bullcrap where they ask for invoice and shit instead they simply wanted more information on the issue

So yea phone(3) users - it's not a lot of work - it takes around 5 minutes at most

Play any HDR video of your choice - preferably the one with black areas - take a picture and upload it to them referring the issue - this is the only way we could get this fixed

Can I buy the nothing phone (3) from Amazon currently?

I lost my phone 1 , and I'm in a dire need of a good phone - considering the inflation - I already raised my budget from 30k to 40k

The 4a pro which was 42k 2 weeks back is sold for 55k today for some fucking reason

Those who bought the phone from Amazon ,please share your experience

\\\*I am quite aware of the pre activation scam\\\*

If I buy from Amazon will I be able to protect myself , by product return via Amazon policies or will I be cooked

There are mixed opinions everywhere - and I'm quite unsure on what to do

I could probably wait till big billion days , but it would be a pain in the ass until then using this current crappy replacement phone

Please walk me through the process if things go wrong

How does the Nord 6 perform irl or is the NP4(a)pro better for my use?

owned a NP1 for the past 3 years - very satisfied , love that phone - which I lost unfortunately

I'm highly considering the Nord 6 solely coz of its raw specs for the price and the 4a pro coz of the cameras , especially the telephoto and me being familiar with the nothing environment

My daily usage is fairly normal - gaming maxes out at clash royale , but I heavily rely on network for hotspot and currently in an area where the network is bad - so a big battery would actually help A LOT

But I'm quite confused coz I've never owned a oneplus before - I'm quite sceptical regarding its software - I never had an issue with my phone(1) regarding updates which made the phone worse in any aspect (or very rarely which gets fixed quickly) - especially battery - coz I've seen a few posts where people complain of 6-7 hours of SOT despite the big battery after updates in the Nord 6

Long story short

  1. How much SOT do y'all get irl in your Nord 6

  2. Every Nord user out there , how's the software experience for y'all - do updates feel like a downgrade over time - or is the quality maintained

The cameras and software optimisation on the 4a pro and the battery on the Nord 6 is the deal breaker for me -

if the battery life and software optimisation is bad in the Nord 6- I would take the 4apro without any hesitation

Ex-phone(1) user looking for an upgrade

I unfortunately lost my phone - and my hard luck - I disabled location the mroning I lost it

I loved the phone very much - very reliable , a literal tank and smooth af - did everything I wanted it to

Right now I'm using a Redmi note 8 and a Redmi 4x as a replacement phones

After looking at the market - I feel the phone(1) still holds really well to the crap they offer at the price the phone(1) was priced - making me regret disabling location that morning even harder

So yea my plan is to get the phone 4(a) pro (cams and nothing os) or the Nord 6 from OnePlus (solely coz of the battery , the processor and larger storage) - but I'm confused on which to get

Also the users of the 4a and 4a pro - please be honest - is the pro a good upgrade to the base 4a - coz I would actually put the extra money in a 256gb phone

I'm in love with the 4a pro but it's a bummer than nothing only offers 128gb while OnePlus gives 256gb for the same price

Is it safe/legal to use a Go pro on a helmet in Chennai

Well I don't have a bike - it's just a scooty pep - but I want to use a Go pro as a dash cam (had a recent incident with false accusation of crappy driving and there was a fight as well) and just for funs as well (go pro shots look cool and I want to try it)

But I have a doubt if it is allowed here - and a fear of police harassing if they saw a go pro mounted on a helmet (I mean Its one of the slowest scooters out there)

My stupid ass bought a helmet mount before research

A deep research on gemini regarding the same suggested not to have it helmet mounted

It would be nice if you guys can share your experiences
