Breaking bad really runined my tv show test.

I started watching TV shows with Prison Break, but I kinda didn’t like it that much. At first, I thought about stopping TV shows altogether because I watched a show all my friends hyped up, but I didn’t enjoy it much. I thought maybe I just wasn’t a TV-show guy.

Before stopping, I wanted to give one more try. After researching some of the best shows, I found out Breaking Bad was so good. I watched it and then Better Call Saul, and they honestly felt more like real life than TV shows to me. The character development, writing, plot twists, pacing, realism, and endings were on another level.

I thought I was going to love TV shows so much after that, but I think I set the bar way too high and expected every show to hit the same level. I’ve tried several highly rated series since, but nothing has hooked me the same way.

Are there people who feel the same? And do you have any recommendations?

Sorry for the terrible English.

Edit: Thank you so much, y’all, for recommending me so many shows! I’ll use this thread as my TV show menu. 😂

Guys help me please

Guys please help me out please

I’m an international student from Ethiopia, and I spent most of my time preparing for the SAT. I finally have a good SAT score, but writing my Common App personal statement has turned out to be the hardest thing I’ve ever tried. I’ve been trying to write one for years, but every essay I come up with feels incredibly CRINGE and superficial.

I’ve read College Essay Essentials by College Essay Guy and countless essays from students accepted to Ivy League schools. When I read their essays, I feel like I understand what makes a great personal statement. But whenever I sit down to write my own, I feel like I have nothing deep enough to say. I also keep catching myself copying the structure of other people's essays, which makes everything feel even less authentic.

At this point, I’m starting to feel like I’ve wasted all my time preparing for something that might simply be impossible for me to do.
