New Update

New Update

My dasher app required an update today before I started. It went completely back to the old system. Like the first one I ever had when I started 2.5 years ago. There’s no platinum, gold or silver. I had 100% on time yesterday but now it says 94% (what I had before the tiers came into play), no estimated times until an order, but the question I have is I’m currently using a plat pass. I still have 3 more days of using it. So if they decide to update again and go back to the tiers I’m just screwed?

Progressive question

Hi all! I’ve had progressive for about 2.5 years. I pay 6 months at a time with them but will be switching soon because we’ve had snapshot in all 3 vehicles for the whole time and the amount still hasn’t gone down a penny since.

Anyways, I’ve filed one claim with them ever on a hit and run. I came outside yesterday morning and noticed a crack in my windshield. I have no clue when, how, or why. But, just now when I turned my air conditioner on it caused it to spider out. Anyone have any advice with filing this with progressive? They always want so many details but I don’t have that this time because I have no clue what happened. Thanks in advance!

Personal Recommendations

Hi all! Been lurking here for a while and finally joined to ask a question. You all are a plethora of knowledge!

I don’t currently and have never had a cash advance or anything other than a small loan from my local bank. I’m wanting to take out a cash advance though to consolidate a few smaller payments I have totaling around $400. What are your personal favorites? Due to buying a new car recently I don’t want anything doing a soft or hard credit check but my credit is at a 698 if that matters.

Thank you all in advance and reading here helped me help my mom recently so again I appreciate you all!!

Those who have been through it

Hi all!

First off, if you’re in this sub I’m assuming you’ve been through the procedure or have a loved one who has. So, I truly hope you all are doing exceptionally well!!

A little backstory: my mom (70 yr old female) has severe aortic stenosis. Almost a year ago is when they told us she needed surgery. For one reason or another (infection, weather, or my mom herself) her surgery has been planned and cancelled twice. The most recent being last month and it was cancelled 8 hours beforehand due to an infection.

She just became a candidate for TAVR at the beginning of the year instead of having full blown open heart. They said without the procedure or if for some reason the valve doesn’t take, she’s looking at 2 years or less to live. That was truly eye opening.

I feel like I have researched until I’m blue in the face because I just like to be well informed. She is for sure having the procedure this coming Wednesday the 17th. I would love to hear everyone’s best piece of wisdom. They are having to go through both sides of her groin and her neck (her neck is also where the temp pace maker will be). I know we will go straight from surgery to CICU (they said no recovery room in between) and there should be very little if any pain.

Are there any supplies I should get to bring to the hospital or for the days following at home? Do ice packs help? I bought her several gowns and some loose lounging clothes to wear, stocked up on Tylenol and ibuprofen, etc. I know there’s probably little obvious things I’m just not thanking of. Thank you all so much in advance ♥️

Next steps

I apologize in advance that this may be a bit long. I’m trying to make sure I add as many details as possible though.

My mom (69 yrs old) has been renting the same house for 12 years. Her landlord lives next door and is who she has always paid rent to. She’s never been late, missed a payment, has upgraded the house substantially because she thought this is where she would spending the rest of her years.

We just found out she has severe aortic stenosis. Because of this she is having major heart surgery in 2 weeks. Out of the clear blue the landlord’s 28 year old daughter showed up on my mom’s porch with hand written papers asking her to move out by June 1st. She asked my mom to sign it but she didn’t and called me. I also told her not to sign anything. We talked to the landlord next door and he said his daughter is breaking up with her boyfriend and wants to move into my mom’s house. He apologized to us especially with my mom’s upcoming surgery and said it was out of his hands because the house is legally in his daughter’s hands.

I started doing some digging and the house is indeed in the daughter’s name and property taxes hasn’t been paid in 3 years now. I was looking at my mom’s rent receipts from over the years and didn’t recognize the name on them. I finally asked who it was and come to find out he has been forging his deceased mother’s name on all the receipts and has utilities open for my mom’s house and his in this name. I contacted the daughter and said it was going to be impossible to find somewhere else for my mom to move and be settled enough for her to come home to recover from this heart surgery. She basically said she still wanted my mom to move asap and if she didn’t she would simply have the utilities turned off so my mom wouldn’t be able to use her medical equipment upon returning home.

I called the courthouse in the county my mom lives in. They said no legal paperwork such as an eviction had been filed and if they turned the utilities off it was within their right. I went to see if I could have electric turned on in my name but they won’t do it without something from the landlord stating it is okay for this property. I’m at a loss on what to do and my mother is worried sick. She should just be focusing on this surgery which has her scared to death and getting better but instead we’re going back and forth with them.

Any insight at all would be helpful on what steps we need to do from here. I live an hour away and have offered her to move here since I own my home but she has declined. She will be in ICU for a few days and then a regular room so when she is discharged from the hospital I was going to go stay with her for the following month. I’m just worried they will do something sneaky. Her house sits on the TN|KY boarder (the welcome to Tennessee and welcome to Kentucky sign is literally across the street but it’s considered TN.

Thanks everyone!!

Delivery Problem

Hi all!

I’ve been reading around here, but would like advice from anyone who has dealt with this firsthand. I shipped a $45 item through UPS using Mercari’s prepaid label. The scans went through as they do and 4 days later on the final scan it said there was a problem with delivery. That they would attempt to deliver again.

I then got an email from UPS saying it was successfully delivered 05/15/26 at 4:44 P.M. and when I click tracking on Mercari it also shows delivery with the same date but time says 5:05 P.M.

However, it still says “awaiting rating from buyer” and “We were unable to complete this transaction. Please check with the buyer or contact us.” An inquiry has been started and I provided all the screenshots of the UPS has sent but there’s still no progress. Mercari keeps telling me to please look around the delivery area or ask neighbors even though I’m the seller. Super frustrating!

Had a customer last night order one bottle of booze. They were hell bent on not paying $6 for their chaser (a 2 liter of coke) from the liquor store. Asked if I would stop and get it from the store by their house. I said if they sent the cost of the 2 liter to cashapp. To my surprise they sent $50, had already tipped $18 in the app, and then added $10 after the delivery. I asked if they meant to send that much when I got there and they said absolutely. What a wild delivery lol.
