Wooper and Chansey patch I hand embroidered

I copied the art from the website that shows all the pokemon man hole covers in Japan (https://local.pokemon.jp/en/manhole/). Otherwise I hand stitched everything and it took me about 5 days.

I initially put the iron on adhesive backing because the plan was to iron it on my golf bag, but it wouldn’t stick and the iron just burnt the color (as you can see on the final product). So I ended up physically stitching it to the bag which was kind of a pain given how thick both mediums were. Overall I know it’s messy with all the thread sticking out and the burned color, but I still think it’s cute.

I don’t love how you can see the white fabric from where I cut around the badge, but I don’t know how to get around that. I hate embroidering on black fabric.

I like golf, pokemon, and fast food

I actually hand embroidered the chansey and wooper badge and made the oshawott head cover from a plushie. I tried to iron on the badge, but it wouldn’t stick and just kept burning the thread so I ended up hand stitching it onto the bag. It looks a bit rough around the edges but I still really love it.

The mew is from the pokemon store I got in Tokyo, and has a little clear plastic window that I’ve put my name and number on just in case.

The magikarp is my hair clip I got at some anime expo in Vegas.

Pls don’t guess my handicap. I just wanted to share all the cool pokemon stuff I’ve made lol.

I had the most incredible day at the range today

I didn’t delete a single shot for this session. I still can’t believe it. I know I’m not a long hitter and I’ve (mostly) come to terms with it, and have just been focusing on consistency.

I’m still struggling with my 6 iron and 5 hybrid — the grouping of colors in the middle from 120-140 are my 7i, 6i, and 5 hybrid lol.

I know the next time I golf, it won’t be as great as this so I’m just posting this victory to remind myself the next time I slice my shot in front of everyone that I’m not actually that terrible 🥲m

I also just want to say for the other ladies: I’ve been really struggling with comparing my swing to all the other girls on IG because my swing is pretty ugly. I’ve done all the things to try and make my swing look pretty but it would always result in bad shots. I’ve just come to accept that I have an ugly swing and that’s fine. I’d rather have an ugly swing and a great game than the other way around 🤷🏻‍♀️

"she narrowed her eyes"

I've been seeing a lot of this in the series and think of this every time. I always imagine the pupils narrowing. Is it just me? :<

Best Korean Chinese lunch specials?

Specifically looking for a jjajangmyun + jjamppong + tangsuyuk combo. I want all three but I’m just one person.

DAE hate this sunscreen bottle cap design?

The other type came in the white/green bottle and the cap wasn’t as bulbous. This yellow cap is pretty round, and after my fingers feel slick with sunscreen it’s so annoying it put back on. I’ve dropped it so many times it drives me CRAZY. I want to scream and throw it every time it happens.

I legitimately am going to try a different sunscreen once I’ve used this one all up (this one leaves my face super shiny anyways).

Embarrassing stories

Let’s hear them.

I was playing my local course today. It’s empty because it’s 100 degrees and a weekday. Got to a par 3 that I actually greened yesterday. I confidently hit one ball, expecting to green it again.

It slices into the giant lake on the right. I’m a bit annoyed, so I hit another. Slices into the lake again. There’s no one behind me so I hit another. Slices into the lake AGAIN. At this point I’m pissed because this isn’t usual for me and hit three more. All end up in the lake. I think 6 balls total.

I finally manage to hit a playable ball and turn around. I see two kids and two guys just staring at me (they were finishing up the front hole). Still no one behind me, at least.

I die inside and drive away. I can’t even find my “playable” shot so I just threw a ball in the general area and played.

What to expect at a wedge fitting?

I’ve been fitted for irons and driver, but never wedges. I scheduled a fitting at a Roger Dunn and have no idea what to expect.

I understand there are some limitations to an indoor fitting. But from what I’ve read, still some benefits. My wedges are some beat up ones I got for like $50/each when I first started so please just let me have this thanks.

Things that chefs are wrong about ALL the time...

As a Korean American, I absolutely hate it when chefs always say "kimchi takes MONTHS to make" (I'm looking at you Sherry), make their "kimchi" and then act like they're Julia Childs when they get told their kimchi tastes good.

There are MANY kinds of kimchi where you literally make and then eat on the spot. It's called geotjeori (겉절이) and it's actually my favorite type of kimchi.

I'm sure there are plenty of other things chefs say all the time that I don't notice because I don't have the cultural background. Anyone else notice stuff like this?

Edit:I did mention Sherry but this wasn’t directed solely towards her. Tbh I don’t love Sherry but I was just using her as the most recent example of chefs spouting out incorrect food knowledge so confidently. That’s what bothers me: when people assume they definitively know something about someone’s culture but they’re absolutely wrong.

Example 2 would be that absolute douchebag Asian chef guest judge (I don’t remember his name) that wasn’t Vietnamese, that shit on Travis for putting tomatoes in his dish because he (dbag Asian chef) incorrectly claimed that there are no tomatoes in Vietnamese food.

Custom ball marker finally arrived. It captures the essence of how I feel during my time on the course.

Specifically MUST use tater tots. Any places you recommend? Thanks!

Edit: thanks everyone for all the wonderful suggestions! Can’t wait to work my way down the list.
