looking for maestro alternatives, what are small teams using?

i'm the only one handling testing at a small android/ios startup (4 of us total). we've been on maestro for a few months and it's been fine for the basics but i'm looking around. main thing is pricing. local cli is free which is how we started, but for parallel runs and ci we'd need maestro cloud at $250 per device per month for android and the same for ios. two platforms is $500/month before web. that's a real chunk of our tooling budget for a small team. the other thing is that yaml gets thin pretty fast. anything slightly non-linear and i'm dropping into runscript with javascript. at that point i'm not really getting the low-code benefit we picked it for. so what are other small teams using for mobile testing? something that doesn't charge per device per month would be a start, and where i'm not writing code every time i need to do anything beyond a basic flow.

M10 + X10 impressions after a few days

The M10 is a 1DD + 1BA hybrid IEM. To me it comes across as a clear, easygoing set rather than something trying to be extremely sharp or analytical. Bass has enough body, vocals are easy to follow, and the treble hasn’t felt harsh in longer sessions.

The X10 didn’t magically turn it into a totally different IEM, which is probably a good thing. What it did change was the practical side of the setup. I get proper 3.5mm and 4.4mm outputs, physical controls, gain options, and enough headroom that I’m not pushing my phone or laptop volume as much.

I also like that it works as a small phone/laptop setup without needing a separate DAP. For desk listening or evening listening, it feels cleaner than using a random adapter, but still much simpler than carrying a bigger stack.

Things to know:

- The M10 is more comfortable daily listening than extreme technical flex.

- The X10 is useful if you care about outputs, gain, and control; less exciting if you already own a good dongle.

- The combo is still a cable stack, so it is not as clean as a DAP or wireless setup.

Overall, I’d call it a practical wired setup: easy to drive, easy to listen to, and more about balance/control than hype.

Disclosure: this combo was provided for impressions.
