Into Dust by Mazzy Star
A bit sloppy at some parts but I think I'm gonna call it here, it's quite long at 5.5 mins long and mostly the same few chords repeated. Still a lovely song by one of my favorite bands.

I posted a pretty rushed/sloppy cover of this last week. Went back and corrected my tone and fixed some of the chords that I got wrong. I still slipped up in a few spots and I think my fretting could've been a little cleaner, but hopefully it's not too noticeable.
Will do a proper cover later with a stem splitter but I just wanted to jam and have some fun for a change. Didn't want to bother my neighbors so I played the backing track through the amp but now it sounds like it's underwater or in another room lol.
Posted a clip here a few weeks ago, but I finally got around to doing the whole thing. It's a short song so there's not much to see here, but it's super fun to play and it also taught me how to do that stoppy/bouncy muted strum technique, idk what it's called. For me the lead riff was the hardest part of the song because of the speed and timing.
I was touring an apartment and saw this, it belongs to Spectrum and has a QR code. Is this for mounting a fiber ONT or is it just for cable internet? There was a corresponding white box at the same level as this plate on the exterior of the property with black wires running out of it.
Technically the rhythm guitar uses only 3 chords, I like throwing in that extra chord on the transition from A to Gm cause I think it sounds cool (idk what it would be called)
Still practicing and trying to clean up some of the muting, also still need to learn the lead
This is one of my all-time favorite Lana songs. Backing track is the original song with the guitar lowered ~20db using a stem splitter.
The file for the full cover was too big so I could only upload the solo here. I put the full version on youtube (sorry, I hope sharing this doesn't violate the sub rules): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-VGZUskYIO8
Took longer to learn than I expected, I'd always trip up when recording and have to start over. Hopefully my mistakes aren't too noticeable.
I'm working on a guitar cover of the song "Pretty When You Cry" by Lana Del Rey and am trying to improve my soloing. I have two takes so far (after hundreds of failed ones) and am looking for feedback on which sounds better: 1, 2, or should I double them up?
Personally I feel like:
- Version 1 (0:00) has some uneven vibrato (esp in the outro), also slightly off pitch on one bend
- Version 2 (0:45) has more consistent vibrato and bends, the outro vibrato starts a bit too early though
- Doubled (1:30) covers up some of the mistakes, but does it sound too busy with three guitars going? (Rhythm + 2 solo)
Bends (especially bends with vibrato) are something I've been struggling with for a while now, I'm trying to play the guitar solo from Pretty When You Cry by Lana Del Rey and it's all just bends, some with vibrato and some without, all full step. I struggle the most with applying vibrato at the top of bends rather than at the bottom and I worry that it's noticeable
Sorry about the intro I was checking my muting
I'm making a low-level dragon cosplay build and wanted to get the obsidian gs too so I can use all the dragon weapons. Baiting Kalameet into doing the diving attack was actually pretty straightforward and it only took 2-3 R2s to cut the tail off. By comparison Seath's tail was way harder to get imo.
Wrote this quick little guide, sharing it in case anyone else finds it useful or has the same use case I did: https://www.aleksandrhovhannisyan.com/notes/android-camera-obs/
It's unfortunate that it doesn't work on iOS, though, because the video stream quality + speed is actually really good, and it's free
The backing track is the original song with the guitar muted using a stem splitter.
Love this song, it's so much fun to play! Took me ~3 months to learn it fully though. I still think I could've done better on some parts where my timing was slightly off, but I tried.
Also I learned I can plug my amp into my PC with USB and treat it as an audio input source in OBS. Sounds better since the speakers aren't particularly strong. Sorry if the video's a bit choppy at some parts, I was streaming my phone camera via bluetooth to OBS to sync with the audio.

this ad popped up during yesterday's stream when he was at his lowest
My AC keeps leaking through the ceiling for one reason or another and my property manager contacts the landlord who then sends out an AC company. The first time this happened they had to trash and replace the whole air handler since it was old and rusted. The second time it was because of a clogged drain so they redirected the condensate line into a nearby sewer gas pipe (pretty sure you're not supposed to do that but okay). This time the P trap was clogged and they had to replace it. The emergency drain line does not work, very cool very fun.
Yes, this has happened three times now (time to find a new place, I know). I kid you not 10 days ago I emailed them asking them to come clean the drain line before the summer season so this doesn't happen again and they said they won't do it if the AC is working fine at this time, and here we are... AC technician tells me they need to do maintenance once a year. Yeah, no shit, I already told them that but they don't listen.
Last time they opened up my drywall I took photos of what I'm pretty sure was mold growth from all that trapped moisture, which they also dismissed/ignored. Can't wait to see what we find this time. All our communication was in writing and I always included photos so they can't really claim they were unaware.
So yeah, title. Looking for a good tenant attorney that folks can vouch for.
