Awesome game with a Wraith Host vs Alpha Legion - very similar colour palette and lots of fun moments :-)

Very fun game! Tried a bunch of 11th edition rules revealed so far - love the upcoming edition!

These were the lists https://www.reddit.com/r/Eldar/comments/1tj25vp/bringing_the_big_boy_to_the_game_today_will_try/

Didn‘t take a picture of the Wraithknight in action since he was hiding behind buildings for most of the game providing his OC10 to hold an objective.

By the end of the game only had half a unit of Rangers and 2 Warlock Skyrunners left, while the opponent still had 4 tanks and 3 units of dudes.

Still Eldar valiantly sacrificed themselves for move blocks (you can still move block tanks in 11th) and denials, and secured a win by exactly 1VP! Lots of fun!

First competitive game of 11th edition is Liam VSL with an Aeldari force featuring three legendary Phoenix Lords vs Richard Siegler’s Adeptus Mechanicus

A rematch of the 2026 Warhammer 40,000 World Championship final! Richard Siegler’s defiant Adeptus Mechanicus is led by the biomechanical genius Cawl, and they face Liam VSL and a defiant Aeldari force featuring three legendary Phoenix Lords. With two armies tailored slightly for the new edition, who will come out on top this time? This is an amazing opportunity to see how the game plays in the hands of two of the world’s best Warhammer 40,000 players.

Let's try to predict our new 1DP detachment rules, strats and enhancements that will be revealed soon! :-)

Here are my guesses for the first 2, not sure about the 3d :-)

---

1. Outcast Network

Detachment Cost: 1DP

Detachment Rule: Ghost-sight Relay

Friendly RANGERS and SHROUD RUNNERS units are eligible for this Detachment’s rules.

In your Shooting phase, select one eligible unit from your army. That unit can select one visible enemy unit within 12". Until the end of the phase, that enemy unit is marked.

While a unit is marked, add 3" to that unit’s detection range.

Stratagem: Vanish into the Paths

1CP
When: End of your turn, after you have scored VP.
Target: One eligible unit from your army that is not within Engagement Range of any enemy units.
Effect: Remove the target from the battlefield and place it into Strategic Reserves.

Enhancement: Wayfinder

Upgrade, RANGERS or SHROUD RUNNERS unit only

This unit is eligible to start an action in a turn in which it Advanced or Fell Back.

In addition, this unit is eligible to shoot in a turn in which it started an action.

---

2. Armoured Warhost

Detachment Cost: 1DP

Detachment Rule: Strafing Angles

Friendly FALCON, FIRE PRISM, WAVE SERPENT and VYPER units are eligible for this Detachment’s rules.

Each time an eligible unit from your army is selected to shoot, if that unit made a Normal move this turn, until the end of the phase, that unit can ignore any modifiers to its Ballistic Skill and Hit rolls.

Stratagem: Vectored Evasion

1CP
When: Opponent’s Movement phase, just after an enemy unit ends a move within 8" of an eligible unit from your army.
Target: That eligible unit, if it is not within Engagement Range of any enemy units.
Effect: The target can make a Normal move of up to D3+3". It cannot end that move within Engagement Range of any enemy units.

Enhancement: Ghostwalk Pilot

Upgrade, eligible unit only

Once per battle, in your opponent’s Shooting phase, just after an enemy unit has selected this unit as the target of one or more ranged attacks, this unit can make a Normal move of up to D6".

It cannot end that move within Engagement Range of any enemy units.

If, after this move, this unit is no longer an eligible target for any of those attacks, your opponent can select new targets for those attacks.

---

What's your guess? ;-)

Sam Altman faces heat as he takes witness stand in landmark OpenAI trial: ‘Are you completely trustworthy?’

Sam Altman shifted in his seat and gave halting responses as he took the witness stand for the first time in the bombshell trial over OpenAI’s future – with Elon Musk’s lawyer grilling him over whether the jury should believe what he says.

Are you completely trustworthy?” Musk’s lawyer Steven Molo immediately asked on Tuesday as he stood up to begin cross-examining Altman in the second week of the federal trial.

I believe so,” Altman replied, having taken the witness stand for the first time in a dark suit and tie.

You don’t know if you’re trustworthy?” Molo shot back, to which Altman jumped in and said, “I amend my answer to ‘yes.’

Molo continued hammering Altman over his alleged prevarication – a central talking point in Musk’s case – as he ran through a laundry list of witnesses during the past week who have called out Altman over allegedly inconsistent and contradictory statements and behavior.

Altman at times stuttered and appeared to be on his heels.

Do you always tell the truth?” Molo asked sharply.

I’m a truthful person,” Altman said, somewhat sheepishly.

That wasn’t my question,” Molo said.

Musk’s lawyer then recounted allegations of Altman not being truthful – including testimony from former OpenAI board members Helen Toner and Tasha McCauley. In taped testimony this week, OpenAI’s former head of technology Mira Murati had accused Altman of “saying one thing to one person and completely the opposite to another person.”

When Molo asked, “Do you care that people came here under oath and called you a liar?” the exec said he didn’t agree with that characterization.

Do you think most events will ignore GW layouts and just run solid windowless L-shaped ruins on WTC footprints, since this is the kind of terrain that everyone already has?

Of course, I would expect select GW-affiliated events in USA to incorporate new GW layouts and varied terrain, and UK to do their own thing with UKTC, but what about all the rest? Will WTC keep 10th edition footprints with solid windowless Ls? Will they adjust the footprints to be closer to GW layouts, but keep solid Ls everywhere? Will most events follow GW or WTC?

These decisions will probably have a significant effect on ranged vs melee balance, and balance overall.

What's your take?

Godfather of AI: How To Make Safe Superintelligent AI

The co-inventor of modern AI and the most cited living scientist believes he's figured out how to ensure AI is honest, incapable of deception, and never goes rogue. Yoshua Bengio – Turing Award Winner and founder of LawZero – is disturbed by the many unintended drives and goals present in today's AIs, their ability to tell when they're being tested, and demonstrated willingness to lie. AI companies are trying to stamp these out in a 'cat-and-mouse game' that Yoshua fears they're losing.

But Yoshua is optimistic: he believes the companies can win this battle decisively with a single rearrangement to how AI models are trained, and has been developing mathematical proofs to back up the claim. The core idea is that instead of training AI to predict what a human would say, or to produce responses we'd rate highly, we should train it to model what's actually true.
