Botched clipped haircut

Hii. (Working cockerspaniel, 2 years old, girl) - ( not me my dog)

So basically few months ago we tried a new groomer who used clippers on my dog really lightly but she clipped her sides and legs and now she quite literally looks like a yeti. Its really upsetting because her coat was beautiful, light and red coloured before now its thick and white fluff.

I brushed her hair every 2 days before and she had a silky coat with no mattes or issues before do there was 0 need to clip her. The groomer was just inexperienced with how to manage double coated dogs.

I really need help with how I can fix her coat. I haven't brought her to a groomer in a few months aside for cutting her nails. Ive bought a kit of detanglers, deshedders, combs and thinning scissors and have been brushing her ( as much as she'll tolerate shes not really a fan of it) and have been using thinning scissors to slowly trim away the white fluff in hopes to let her normal coat grow back.

Basically. How do I hand strip or like get rid of this fluffy mess? Im really struggling and I feel terrible for her.i read online that you can handstrip dead coat off cockers but idk the best tool for that im really just stuck on how to fix this. Or is it even fixable.( please tell me it is)

commissions etiquette?

Hii so I do acryli paintings and have been painting for 15 years probs since i was little basically.

Recently, ive done my first commission ( for a friend) at 25 euro for a painting just under an A4 page size. Im wondering what are typical commission prices supposed to be? It takes me about 7-8 hours for these sized paintings and the canvas are about a fiver. So how do you figure out pricing?

Also when do you ask to be paid? At the sketch part? Or do you wait until the commission is finished?

Also before I give it to her am I supposed to add anything? I always see online people give like messages and stickers to customers? I honestly have no idea.

Also ! Sorry so many qs :") but any acrylic artists who do commissions.. do you use a "seal" or anything on your paintings? Im not sure if im meant to, i never have with the paints I use and they haven't changed colouring or anything so idk if its necessary

Thank you!!!

Having severe colds after surgery

Its been about 2 weeks since my surgery and I just started getting back to normal ans going back to work full time. 2 days after going back, I felt super run down and fluy. Ive developed a terrible cold and its making this recovery feel endless. Just as I felt better im back to where I began.

Is getting sick like this more common now that I have no tonsils?

Tips on grooming at home?

I've a cocker spaniel who got a botched haircut last year ( was shaved with clippers on face and legs) and ever since her fur has been growing very thick and fluffy ( gets matted alot) and grows super fast.

I've been bringing her to the groomers but I cant afford to be bringing her every 2/3 weeks so I've begun trimming her paws and face myself. ( her face literally grows a beard cause they shaved her face 😭😭).

I've been successful in cutting her face and its going well! Her body I've been using thinning scissors which has being going okay granted its a bit choppy but im learning the technique as I go.

I'm struggling a bit to cut her paws however wondering if anyone had any tips? I have thin scissors but every time they come out very uneven and choppy. We've built it up with treats so she's fine with it for a short amount of time but I just feel bad im not doing her justice rn😭

Summary; tips on grooming cocker spaniels paws/ body that grows v quickly and more thick than typical for a working cocker :)))

Is schols worth it?

If youre a consistent 2.1 student ( arts/ humanities degree) would you consider doing schols? I'm not sure if the extra stress is actually worth it or not especially with how competitive it is

Botched haircut

Heyy basically, my working cocker spaniel used to have lovely wispy hair like your typical wc. We brought her to a new groomer and she shaved her and its grown back horribly.

Like the back of her legs are SUPER wooly and thick , now she grows extra hair on her face and her coat is very uneven and thick.

Is there anything I can do myself to fix this? Like a thinning scissors or something or do I just accept the wooly mammoth she's become and keep shaving her to keep it short. I can tell its making her rlly hot in the summer heatwaves and im just rlly annoyed. This hair cut was given couple months ago and its all grown out now but nothing like she used to be like

Arts & humanities courses?

Ive done my lc 2 years ago now but I love seeing what others put on their CAO lists. I've noticed ive not seen a single post of anyone doing an art or humanities course which I find sad as an arts student myself.

Would love to know if theres a reason behind this and or if someone is picking an arts course which one?
