Why should I as the player feel bad about these monsters who are older than me and are actively trying to end my life on a racial basis (expectations for Toriel and Papyrus and along with a couple of others). For instance why should I feel bad for wiping out the Royal Guard? They willingly choosing to kill an human child for the sake of fulfilling a potential mass genocide of the human race. I don't feel sympathy for killing Asgore. That be supposedly never wanted to kill humans in the first place then after the war killed all the humans who fell (Presumably children) and took all their souls to break the barrier and commit mass genocide? If he supposedly only does this because of the pressure from his people? Why? He's the KING presumably he should not have done that pleasure or not. It also raises a question for monster culture as a whole if they are willing to celebrate the complete genocide of humans and on an industrial scale feel bad for killing one that was gonna take my life on the basis that I was a human (and also being willing to date children) and happened to fell and is a scared child looking to return home. I also don't feel bad for Undyne she wanted to kill a CHILD for fighting back against an People Hell-bent for the total eradication and destruction of humanity. Similarly you wouldn't have sympathy for a nazi if you were a Roma, Jew or Slavic child or nazi sympathetic citizens who are going out in the street searching to kill you. Another thing that kind of also bothered me was that Toriel In the true pacifist route uses her fire power to stun Asgore, Why didn't you use that power when all the other humans fell to him? For me I won't kill Toriel because I think she's innocent and is trying to protect the player, but god is she stupid and semi cowardly. Even though all my criticism of the plot I still have a special place for undertale in my heart and still like Toby Fox and Temmie Chang as game developers.
